    The 273000mAh number (at 3.7V) is just there to make it look like it's bigger than it is. All that means is they are using 7 lithium cells rated at 39000mAh (39Ah) in series to construct the main 25.9V, 39AH pack. For capacity what you want to focus on is the number of Watt-hours which in this case is a respectable 1010Wh (25.9V x 39Ah). Also knowing only the solar panel volts isn't useful if you don't also know how many amps are flowing giving the Watts the solar panel is outputting. It would also have been useful to see if the generator would output the full 1000W from the ac outlets and for how long. I doubt too that the unit's fan would stay silent at that load level.

    • @Sovereign_Citizen_LEO
      @Sovereign_Citizen_LEO 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I doubt that it would even output the full quoted or rated 1000 watts continuous. But my math was wrong. I used the 3.7v stat. And thought I could simply divide the 273,000 Milliamps by 1000 to get 273 Ah (which would be huge).

    • @rfmonkey4942
      @rfmonkey4942 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A shady way to represent the capacity

    • @joeypam7567
      @joeypam7567 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are right it is 25.9V/39Ah battery pack built in,AC output can get 60-70% battery source, DC output can get 80% or more.

    Can it be used while hooked up to Solar ? This is a major factor when buying these units, as many are not capable of doing this simple task. Take for instance your camping and you using the unit during the daylight but then night time comes and your batteries are drained but if the AC/DC outlets are usable while the Solar panel(s) are connected your in good shape.

    Is the DC output regulated? IE: Does it maintain 12 volts output in a low state of charge?

    • @oregonstateaviation3094
      @oregonstateaviation3094 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Brian Mino If the voltage drops below a certain level then DC appliances (think car fridges, hot plates, etc) will not operate properly and may even be damaged when attempting to operate off the low voltage output. This is only a big deal if you plan to use the solar generator in a camping/off grid van type of scenario, but Jackery and the other top end solar generators all have regulated DC voltage to ensure any DC appliance will operate normally.

    • @Sovereign_Citizen_LEO
      @Sovereign_Citizen_LEO 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @goodmorning1221 - It does not come with solar panels (they are extra and sold separately here: amzn.to/35vVkcf But if possible I would/will buy different and less expensive ones when I do). That said, the ones they do sell are very high quality and highly efficient (in solar cell generating and conversion capacity which is what it's all about).
      I'm no expert on this unit and I don't have solar panels yet. I believe though that it can charge with high power input (up to 48v or 64v?) and multiple 100W or higher panels can be linked in serial (which would speed charging). The uploader said that it charges with solar at a rate almost comparable to his wall outlet at home (which is impressive if true).
      I'm still a novice and just learning this stuff. I have only used this unit on maybe 4 or 5 occasions to date. And during those power outages, it powered my Dell Precision T5500 Workstation successfully for 4 to 5 hours. The workstation has an 875 watt power supply, but is/was probably only drawing 400 to 600 watts A/C to it's 12 volt DC Power Supply (because of the particular components I have installed in it). I should have used my Kill-A-Watt device to see exactly how much power it was drawing.
      I want to go completely off-grid but that would require a substantial investment and money I don't have. I charge it on A/C power for when power outages occur (which is rare but increasing). I bought this unit when it first came out a couple years ago (a Silver and gray unit you can see in this video, which I believe is identical to the orange and black one) with the exception that the black/orange anodizing or powder coating on this new one probably gives it a more durable skin (not a big deal).
      I can tell you because the capacity is large (for lithium powered units), it takes a long time to fully charge (probably 12 hours or more on AC Power if I remember). So charging it using Solar Panels would probably take a little longer. The benefit of the panels the OEM sells (as you can see in this video) is that they have a higher generating capacity than say a traditional continuous single panel 100w solar panel and a high conversion rate (solar cell energy density/efficiency in generating). The ability to fold it for storage and transport is also pretty cool. Though I'm not sure it's worth more than double the price of other 100w panels you can buy, I still may eventually buy one.
      I do believe it is a pure sine inverter. It is MPPT solar ready (has the built in controller), and to my recollection/research, does have pass through charging capability (being able to use the unit to power devices while charging). It also can be charged from a car battery (cigarette outlet) or other Lead Acid/ AGM batteries (I believe) if you have the right adapters/cables.
      All things considered, I highly recommend this unit. When the power goes out, it will power a mini fridge (that's the only one I tested it with for a couple hours just to see). I haven't checked to see if it will power my full size fridge (which it may or may not). As you know with refrigerators or any device with large electric motors/compressors there is starting surge power which in many cases can be too great for these lithium power units. A large deep cycle lead acid or AGM battery is better for those things.
      That said, I believe it would power new[er] devices with motors or compressors (depending on the starting current draw/amperage), such as a small A/C (5000 BTUs or something). As motors and compressors get older they tend to bind more and become harder to start for a variety of reasons, thus demanding more starting current/ voltage/ amperage.
      The unit came with some cables and a charger (I haven't used anything other than the charger so I don't know exactly what cables or where they are). My one complaint even though it is fairly simple to use and somewhat self-explanatory, is the lack of a good manual [any manual or documentation in English]. It came with none (though I didn't buy it from the OEM directly).

    Definitely not worth 800 dollars. You can get them on aliexpress for around 240 dollars and to be honest with all of you, I'd save up and get a unit with much better quality control. The battery packs are mediocre inside, wires are pinched with needle nose pliers and have some small cuts through the insulation. Globs of heatsink and glue throughout the circuit board's. In its are labeled pure sinewave however the output is surprisingly more square than smooth.

      @@TB-ij1vg I have an extremely long history and vast knowledge of electronics, quality control of components and how well an electronic circuit board is designed, printed and the assembly of the electronic components layed out on a circuit board. Research and development of placement of electronic's on a circuit board giving proper distance between heat generating parts and components and proper heatsinking is very important to make a device not only operate properly but to have the longevity to provide many years of uninterrupted service and make people know the money they invested in a quality product will give them excellent operation and many years of a service. We shouldn't except low quality control for the amounts of money we are spending on whatever it is we choose to invest in.

      @@TB-ij1vg Thank you. I actually prefer the Titan solar generator. It's a much more powerful unit. It has 2.2kWh's of storage and multiple batteries can be added as many as you want because they are stackable. The unit offers 3,000 watts of true pure sinewave power, and it can handle 2,000 watts of solar input through its MPPT charge controller. 2 units can be tied together to get 120/240 to operate larger appliances or for example a well pump or geothermal unit on smaller homes. You can see these Titan units on TH-cam. They are built extremely well and have many more functions than the mass produced units that flood the market. Yes they are pricey however they are very robust in all ways.
