Don Kivell was in charge of the project, Bob Butler the Chief Engineer of the project, and Dick Edmundsen designed the software for it. All three retired about a year after this.
I always heard of stations that had a “Pup” when I worked at WSLS in Roanoke. Never knew it was just that simple of an ad-on.
It wasn't it took too long. The news dept ended up buying one for almost each station.
