I remember seeing this trailer as a kid and being confuses as to why it looked so different. Not to mention the psp exclusive level being in the console intro just made me think I was missing something huge. I spent hours and hours trying different things to unlock that stage. Thank you for uploading this so I can see it in better quality. My number one dream in terms of game preservation is getting more betas for all of these games especially this and world 2.
You and me both, I tried absolutely everything I could think of to try to unlock the beta stuff and Subterranean Speedway and those other battle maps, I was quite disappointed when I found out about the nature of betas and removed content, although, I do have a good lead on potentially preserving this, these stages were in a card ticket operated arcade machine, possibly removed before many people saw it because of the Ms. and Jr. Pac Man copyright controversy. I think these designs were intentionally made for the arcade to have a superior deign to draw people to the machines. My friends and I are trying to get back many lost game in our Discord, but I have to leave the invite link broken for a while due to a troll attack, actually more like a grieffer who just wanted to see my operation destroyed. It will probably eventually be public again though.
I just wish we found the beta file already that would be amazing and I feel like if somebody out there has the beta file
I feel it too. It is like we can sense it and I don't think that would be possible if it weren't I think everyone is given certain abilities for reasons, and I feel one of my major purposes is to get back these lost levels once and for all.
It's too bad that Pac-Man World Rally is such an obscure title. It's one of my favorite games I played in my childhood. I remember watching this trailer a *lot* around 2006-2011, and being like "wow... it's so different from the final game."
Not as different as I remembered, but I definitely focused on Arctic Iceberg having a sunset, and some of the different textures (especially in Galactic Outpost). What's weird is that I swear that Galactic Outpost's beta textures were even more different than what I'm seeing now. Must have been my kid brain seeing things differently. Awesome upload.
(in fact, I remember Jungle Safari being in this trailer and having beta textures... that's very weird. maybe it's in another trailer?)

Personally, I like the final version of the trailer better, the clips just go more in order but this music fits it better. Speaking of which I dont recall this soundtrack being in the game at any point
The music is called "Samantha Loves Duane Eddy", it does play in this trailer on Pac Man World 3, because this exact trailer is in that game, but much like the music in the Bionicle the Game trailers, it was created as a DJ song, and I don't know, but they might have been commissioned for the use of video game trailers specifically, like this is probably used in other video game trailers because the rights to it probably belong to an advertising company. I don't think Namco had the rights to sell it outside of advertisement context, but I'm unsure. They probably do own it if they commissioned it for their use. To my knowledge this song is OK to use on TH-cam because the ad money automatically goes to the owners while it is being used.

I haven't noticed, but the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place have different fonts. 1st, 2nd and 4th have the same fonts and looks like the final version. Sadly we never see a racer being in 3rd place, so we have no idea if 3rd place had a different font or looked like the final one.
Funny thing is, those different fonts have th at the end of them, so it is showing up as 5thth and 8thth etc.
