Your video (not your fault im lretty sure) is SO BRIGHT its making my TH-cam app full brightness, i get this on yt shorts sometimes but i dont want to be blinded, it doesnt wanna be any higher than 360p resolution ☠️ Love the skirt, im trying to make my own, thought id let you know about this tho
Thank you for the pattern and tutorial. Hoping to have a go! If it’s a front and back piece for the skirt, could I add inseam pockets when joining the front and back pieces together? Thanks so much 😊
Thank you so much for the pattern & the tutorial! I’m a sewing beginner and always looking for cute and easy patterns 🥰 If I would like it a little less gathered, could I just make the front and back piece of the skirt a little less wide? Like 130cm instead of 140cm or so? ☺️
Hi! Thank you for the pattern! I am a bit confused as to what measurement to gather to though. On the directions there are several different measurements but I’m not sure which measurement to use. I am making a size 16-18, so what measurement would I gather the skirt to?
Totally in love with your skirt! Going to try it, but sadly I didn't get the part with the measuring. For the front an back piece your booklet says 140cm×66cm, does that mean I have to cut 2 pieces (2×140cm×66cm) or 2 pieces out of one (so that I have 2×70cm×66cm)? Hope you can understand my struggle. Love your video! ❤️
@@schultzapparel omg major face palm haha! Thank you! I didn't continue reading as I didn't immediately see my size and felt all disappointed.... so thank you for replying to my comment!
Yes, it is possible, you just need to remember to have some overlap at the side seam slits. I think Wildflower Design has a circle skirt included in their Coquelicot Skirt which is very similar to my Frida pattern :)
No sorry, I don’t know. If you add all the length of all the pieces, so 2x 66cm (skirt pieces) + 3x 11cm (waistband pieces), you will end up with 165cm so it should fit.
I did this too! It’s because a lot of cotton fabrics are only 45” inches wide and the pattern requires 55”. If you don’t want to find a wider fabric what you can do is: get 3.5 yards cut it into 1.75 halves and seam the two pieces on the short side so then you’ll have roughly a 90”x 63” rectangle and will also insure that any print is still going the right way.
Not sure about Joanne’s but when I look at the material called broadcloth which is a poly cotton blend quite often it is 60”? Often also cotton lawn is 60” as well
I tried to make this but it didn't turn out well for me. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but for the largest size, the amount to gather the top of the skirt together is wider than the skirt after the sides have been sewn together.
On my website it is free, but if you click on Etsy it cost a small amount (as on Etsy it can not be free) :) it is not just a download link on my website, you have to place an order and click through to the checkout page, but you will not need to type in any payment as it is free. Hope it makes sense.
All the suppliers needed for this skirt is listed in the pattern listing on both Etsy and my website. It's also listed in the booklet :) Pls. make sure to check it out.
This is the PERFECT skirt I've been looking for! Thank you for making this free!
Beautiful skirt ❤❤❤ thank you

I truly LOVE this skirt. I cant wait to try it!

👏 I don’t think that it possible, as there is a slit opening, so you can get the skirt on, but don’t know as I haven’t tried myself.

🙏 yes it is possible to cut the width of the skirt pieces just as you want, the width just needs to be bigger than your hip measurement.

thanks for the free pattern. i have downloaded it, but was wondering if i can put pockets in..any suggestions?
Thanks for downloading the pattern! The easiest way to add pockets, is to add patch pockets.
Hi! Thank you for the pattern! I am a bit confused as to what measurement to gather to though. On the directions there are several different measurements but I’m not sure which measurement to use. I am making a size 16-18, so what measurement would I gather the skirt to?
Hi! thanks for reaching out. If you are size 16-18 the skirt pieces needs to be gathered to 20 7/8" 😊
Hi! Thanks for the free pattern! Can this be made longer?
Yes you can easily make it longer ☺️
Totally in love with your skirt! Going to try it, but sadly I didn't get the part with the measuring. I think that you need that square 2 times. Since you will lose a lot of fabric while gathering.
Thanks 🙏 yes you need to cut two skirt pieces which are 140x66cm each
@@schultzapparel Thanks! 🥰
@@Evelien2301 Alright, thanks :)
What kind of fabric is the one you used? I'm a begginer and I would love to make one 🥺
I used a woven cotton fabric in this video ☀️
I have downloaded the pattern, but just realised my waist measurement is 92cm :(
What if I use a stretch fabric?
The waist goes up til 130cm, there is two pages with size range. So your size is covered ☺️

Perfeito! ❤❤❤
Would it be relatively easy to add some length to this skirt to come to mid calf?
Yes that would be easy as you just need to make the length longer on the skirt pieces.
Do you think it's possible to make this as a circle skirt?
Yes, it is possible, you just need to remember to have some overlap at the side seam slits. I think Wildflower Design has a circle skirt included in their Coquelicot Skirt which is very similar to my Frida pattern :)
Please may I ask why do you use interface only the short waist band? Is it to keep it from rolling when we sit down?
It’s a personal preference, I think it gets too thick on the tie bands when tied into a bow ☀️
@@schultzapparel definitely but I meant why interface at all? The stiffness to prevent the waist band from rolling?
Yes, interfacing is for stabilizing the waistband. It also helps with stabilizing the sew-on snap or normal buttons.
I bought 2 yards of fabric at Joanne's, but the length came out about 10 inches short :( Any ideas what could have went wrong?
No sorry, I don’t know. If you add all the length of all the pieces, so 2x 66cm (skirt pieces) + 3x 11cm (waistband pieces), you will end up with 165cm so it should fit.

@@Robotneonunicorn thank you so much! It ended up a few inches shorter and much more poofy than intended. I will follow your tips next time for sure!
Not sure about Joanne’s but when I look at the material called broadcloth which is a poly cotton blend quite often it is 60”? Often also cotton lawn is 60” as well
Is there an easy way to size this for plus sizes? Very beginner here!
The size goes up to 130cm at waist
I tried to make this but it didn't turn out well for me. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but for the largest size, the amount to gather the top of the skirt together is wider than the skirt after the sides have been sewn together.

how much fabric do you need in total to sow this skirt?
All the suppliers needed for this skirt is listed in the pattern listing on both Etsy and my website. It's also listed in the booklet :) Pls. make sure to check it out.
Is this a two-piece skirt?
There is a front and a back skirt piece, and two waistband pieces 😊
