The Ultimate Enemy episode was so epic. It was my favorite Danny Phantom episode of all time! I like how you call Danny's evil future self Dan Phantom instead of the name the creators of the episode gave him in the end credits: Dark Danny. Dan Phantom sounds more appropriate for him because it's more grown up for him. I was quite disappointed with how the series ended though, we never saw Dan again after The Ultimate Enemy.
Back then were all teens were dealing with "stress tests" during the harder and darker times of the early mid 2000's but unlike Danny I actually worked hard and not made a deal about It and even earned 2 new Certificate for kitchen duty which other during the time made a big deal about to make other take their working careers seriously but It wasn't all bad. I love the new Idea of seeing what happened to the other of ghosts In the futures rather some got married, fused as one "ultimate" creation, or had a worse future ever Imagine despite Box Ghost looking more menacing then ever. I also think Dark Dan Is still one of the most underrated villains to this very day and wish they could've used him more often but of course Butch during the time wasn't himself and thanks to the stupid network still wanting to pull the plug on It just because "Spongebob was there only lord and savior" (before The Loud House toke over for alittle while). Looking back this Isn't just a darker episode but still one of the best gems alongside Reality Trip (still being my other favorites). Nowadays I work at Tim Horton near my area.
Loved playing this game as a kid. I didn't have much of a selection back then. But it was the only game I would play a ton. Great to see it again in your video.
If only Nickelodeon treated this show better (amongst many others), then we could've gotten more of Dark Danny. At least 'The Ultimate Enemy' was an overall great special.
I mean, an open world game in (a cartoon) version of suburban MI or IL? Cool. But if I were to guess why the PS2 game was scrapped? PS2 superhero game around late 2005, so probably open world. Plus he flies (which, unlike gliding or swinging, has always been spotty), and he can phase through stuff (which mandates a "cubic" open world, with NO instances of filler buildings), and suddenly executing on that concept is a nightmarish, Sisyphean feat, even back then. And THEN there's this episode having a story that ALSO needs an extensive rendering of the ghost zone. And THEN there's having to execute all that for a hard date. Again, this is all just a guess, but would not be surprised if that's how this went down.

But I’ve always thought it was weird that Danny doesn’t have his logo on his chest despite it being used elsewhere, like even one of the tie-in BK figures clearly has the logo as part of the mold but it's not painted. Yeah, I remember discovering I could change back to Danny Fenton on accident. I also remember struggling with the rooftop platforming sections and then later figuring out that Danny can float/fly if you press up then a during a jump.

It’s really clever that you only learn the ghostly wail once you hit level 5, it’s a nice reference to how in the show, Danny learns the wail 10 years earlier than his future self did. Also, Box Lunch is adorable & no one can convince me otherwise
That cover of the supposed PS2 version of the game is an edit of the GBA cover and is from a wiki known as the Video Game Fanon Wiki, which means that said PS2 version wasn't even considered in the first place.
If I had a nickel for every time a Nicktoon hero has had an evil counterpart that is actually a fusion of an alternate version of themself and their main nemesis, I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
In hindsight, Dan Phantom being a fusion of Danny and Vlad's ghost halves weakens the story for me. Dan Phantom is supposed to be an evil counterpart to Danny right? One who finally decided "screw responsibility, power's where it's at," and/or removed his humanity to stay ghost full time is pretty scary as is. But being a fusion of Danny and Vlad takes away from the former's potential for evil and makes Vlad the responsible party again. Even if it was unintentional on his part this time...
@@johnnygyro2295 I completely agree. My other main problem with the decision to make Dark Danny a fusion is that, from a worldbuilding standpoint, it comes out of nowhere. There's no other point in the series where one ghost permanently fuses with another. This is also the only time that a half-ghost can be split in two. There's no foreshadowing that this is possible and no part of this explanation is ever utilized again either. It especially bothers me because the ability for a half-ghost to be split doesn't even make sense. That implies Danny (and Vlad for that matter) is actually two people in one body rather than one person who has the power to transition between being alive and (un)dead. Despite the term "half-ghost" they're not literally two halves; they're one fluid whole. Dark Danny fusing with Vlad's ghost-self doesn't add much to the story either. It explains why Vlad isn't a threat anymore, but there are so many better options for that. Even if they wanted him alive, but without powers, they could have just had Danny find a way to remove Vlad's powers or prevent him from accessing them. The one good thing to come from this narrative decision is the moment where it's heavily implied Dark Danny kills off his human self. Not only is that incredibly morbid, and thus very effective at showing the lengths Dark Danny will go, it serves as a metaphor for him killing off any sense of humanity he had left. That part's cool. Just don't know if it was worth the questions and headaches brought on by the... everything else.
