After watching this clip they need to make a Denise Clark Bradford story! Even Kierra Sheard (Karen's daughter) wanted to play her Aunt Denise and not her Mother but was told no. If you listen to Denise interviews that woman has a STORY and been through some stuff! Secondly, the role of Denise given to Raven seemed to deliberately paint Denise as the black sheep or ods one in the family. All of them are lighter individuals and the color of the actresses matches everyone EXCEPT Denise. Denise even said she was never contacted for input regarding her side. Holly Carter said they did contact her, so who knows. Lastly, I hope the Clark Sisters can come together again. I have a feeling if someone allows Denise to tell her story The Clark Sisters will look bad. Denise is not in the best health, she is having housing issues and she is still hurting. There is a pattern of leaving out Denise due to a history of sisterhood problems. Denise has been silent for over 40 years. What made her speak was the way she was treated when she went to see Twinkie. At least 2 of Denise children has talked positively of her. So unless we know the full story we should let them settle their issues.

Some of you need to realize that the uploaded video of Denise at Mattie's funeral is a 2 minute clip that is heavily chopped up & edited. It's very clear to see that. The sisters were not the only ones displeased with her either, there were also older family members as well.

Has anyone seen Raven in the role yet? I guess I'm confused how it was determined that this lady should've gotten it. She did a decent job but this wasn't a Viola Davis performance. It's very possible that Raven impressed the producers & casting directors much more thus why they picked HER for the role. She is the most established actress on the cast actually.
THIS!!!! Raven Goodwin has acted since she was a child. She is experienced in the field... and knows how to truly develop a character!!! Both ladies are phenomenal tho.

I think Avery was too old to play the role in its entirety. You’d have to play the role from the 70’s-2000 ( I think that’s the span of the story form what I’ve seen behind the scenes). Amber is easy to dress up and look young or old, Avery is damn good but she’s too old for the role. And for the people saying that Amber can’t sing, we don’t know what the hell she can do. She did good singing during her Disney Channel days. Denise role doesn’t require to much singing anyway, Jacky lead more songs in the group than Neicy and before and after she left. Even now, she can hold a note and a run or two but Denise never really took care of her voice seems like. Donald Lawrence is over the music and already stated that all 5 of the actresses sing live and in the studio for the film, that was a huge part of the casting call so why would they chose someone who can’t sing?

You did a wonderful job Ms. Avery Sunshine! I'm glad I grew up singing in the COGIC as did the Clark Sisters. My sisters and I are trained singers, and I remember listening to the Clark Sisters in the 80's and 90's. What a wonderful legacy!

I was very close to Denise and I was with her when she was going through difficult times before she left Detroit. But I love the whole family. Used to go over the house while they was rehearsing. My dad used to go preach for his their dad. Twinkie used to get on me about covering my mouth when I smiled because I had a gap like her.

But what i absolutely do not understand is on that signature song Name it, Claim it Denise Clark was an original singer on that song. But in the video it was only four women singing💯💯💯💯😭😭😭😭😭. I saw the TH-cam of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and Denise's role at the funeral... and I've heard the whole audio of it as well. Denise was not out of order at the funeral. It pains me to see and hear that she was an "embarrassment" just because of what she did. When my mom died, I did the SAME thing... I was not on program, but because that was MY mom, I felt I could say some words about my own mother. When Denise came up there and shared words, she raved about her mother being a praying, Holy Ghost-filled woman of God (she had a "preach" on her!)... and people were clapping and cheering in agreement. So I don't think what she did was wrong... Maybe her sisters didn't want her to say anything, but that's wasn't their decision. Just because they were too distraught to say words didn't mean Denise had to be silent. She was well entitled to say words... that was her mother. Denise sang "Goin' Up Yonder" in key and on beat, and after she finished, people still applauded as she left the podium, giving people hugs. I don't see what the "stunt" was that she pulled at her mother's funeral. I just saw her being strong for the family. Remember, these two scenes were from the past, so let's not run with this and start bashing anyone. ALSO, KEEP IN MIND... At the time of Dr. Clark's death, her and Denise were on extremely good terms. Denise would fly back and forth to be at her mother's bedside, and they would talk, bond, and read scriptures. They all had their personal relationships with their mother... they all had their flaws... But they ALL also have JESUS, and one thing HE does is love and forgive. We can all take a lesson from Him. In closing, all five of them sang and recorded "Name It, Claim It," so they should have had Raven Goodwin in these clips where they're re-recording the song... at least for visual affect, to show the "truth" about the song. Also, Avery Sunshine, you were PHENOMENAL in these two scenes, and I pray nothing but blessing and opportunities to pour down on you!!! Pure raw talent! Can't wait for the movie, and I love each and every Sister: Jacky, Dorinda, Denise, Karen, and Twinkie!

She did ok, but Raven did phenomenal and was more believable! What people don’t understand is that it’s just not about looking like the character but becoming the character so that people forget what the character even looks like, and Raven did that! We’re just in a day and age where there’s so many platforms for people with no experience to express unwarranted opinions.

I saw the TH-cam of Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and Denise's role at the funeral... and I've heard the whole audio of it as well. Denise was not out of order at the funeral. It pains me to see and hear that she was an "embarrassment" just because of what she did. When my mom died, I did the SAME thing... I was not on program, but because that was MY mom, I felt I could say some words about my own mother. When Denise came up there and shared words, she raved about her mother being a praying, Holy Ghost-filled woman of God (she had a "preach" on her!)... and people were clapping and cheering in agreement. So I don't think what she did was wrong... Maybe her sisters didn't want her to say anything, but that's wasn't their decision. Just because they were too distraught to say words didn't mean Denise had to be silent. She was well entitled to say words... that was her mother. Denise sang "Goin' Up Yonder" in key and on beat, and after she finished, people still applauded as she left the podium, giving people hugs. I don't see what the "stunt" was that she pulled at her mother's funeral. I just saw her being strong for the family. Remember, these two scenes were from the past, so let's not run with this and start bashing anyone. ALSO, KEEP IN MIND... At the time of Dr. Clark's death, her and Denise were on extremely good terms. Denise would fly back and forth to be at her mother's bedside, and they would talk, bond, and read scriptures. They all had their personal relationships with their mother... they all had their flaws... But they ALL also have JESUS, and one thing HE does is love and forgive. We can all take a lesson from Him. In closing, all five of them sang and recorded "Name It, Claim It," so they should have had Raven Goodwin in these clips where they're re-recording the song... at least for visual affect, to show the "truth" about the song. Also, Avery Sunshine, you were PHENOMENAL in these two scenes, and I pray nothing but blessing and opportunities to pour down on you!!! Pure raw talent! Can't wait for the movie, and I love each and every Sister: Jacky, Dorinda, Denise, Karen, and Twinkie!

She did ok, but Raven did phenomenal and was more believable! What people don’t understand is that it’s just not about looking like the character but becoming the character so that people forget what the character even looks like, and Raven did that! We’re just in a day and age where there’s so many platforms for people with no experience to express unwarranted opinions.

I'm that this reading was put out myself even tho it's kinda disturbing. Avery did a good job and at this time of the funeral she [Avery] would have been on point bc nicey was older and she her size just about. Now what was said in the reading is a bit much considering the movie comes out in April 2020 . But I just wish Dr . Denise would've agree Dr Cater Sylvia Tamille to tell her side and be at the meetings the 3 amigos instagrammed .
