"Twin's (Knock Out)" was Super Junior's debut song and it came out in 2005. This was when SuJu was only a 12 member group. I don't think Kyuhyun was even a member of the company yet. When SuJu debuted the oldest members, Leeteuk and Heechul were about 22 and the youngest Ryeowook and Kibum were about 18. The very first person you see in the opening of this MV is Hangeng, who is Super Junior's first Chinese member and the very first non-Korean Kpop star. However, as you saw, the first person who sings in the MV and song is Siwon. (Yes, he will be the one you see first the most. The members joke that he is usually the first one you see in most of their MVs because as the visual of the group, they want to show him at his best before he starts to sweat. LOL) SuJu is the group that really launched Kpop into mainstream popularity globally, but that wasn't until about 2009 with their song "Sorry Sorry." The MV for "Twins (Knock Out)" and choreography was actually groundbreaking and ahead of its time way back in 2005. Remember what western MVs looked like in the '90s and early 2000s, especially boy band videos? They were very similar to this. Back then, the Kpop industry was so much different: they didn't have budgets, they had even more strict beauty standards and basically the industry itself was still struggling to make a name for itself globally. You may notice that they only showcased the main visuals in most of these early videos, but that was the industry's standard practice back then. Plus, the internet, digital media, and search engine platforms were not what they are today. If you watch some of their more recent interviews, members often share stories about how they struggled and competed to have more screen time, and everyday they worried that it would be their last in the group and that they would be cut. Super Junior originally were a 13 member group + 2 Super Junior-M members, so in these older videos you will see 12/13 members. Because Super Junior has so many members, it's difficult to give equal screen time to each of the members when the group is so large. (If they gave everyone equal screen time the song would end up being 7-13 minutes long and that's too long for most listeners attention spans, LOL.) Plus, each member has their own unique role within the group, so sometimes that means certain members have a larger part then others. Also, one thing you should keep in mind with these early SuJu songs, is that Super Junior wasn't originally supposed to be a permanent group, and the group was made up of members who were being trained in all aspects of the entertainment industry. So, SM's original goal for the group was to allow the members to gain more experience in the industry while they learned to be TV hosts, actors, models, comedians, etc. That's why in their first few songs some of the members roles are smaller. SM wasn't necessarily expecting them to continue as a member of this group in particular. The plan was to have the members graduate to other groups and other careers within the entertainment industry after a few months. It was SuJu's fans that saw the potential in the group as a whole and put a stop to SM's plan. "Twins (Knock Out)" is actually one of SuJu's least popular songs, and many people even forget it exists unless they are dedicated E.L.Fs.

you really hit the nail on the head when you were talking about us old fans (became one just in time for sorry2 release) rediscovering suju from experiences of newer fans such as you! it's quite enjoyable to see, and it does help with the nostalgia about how i may have drifted in and out of kpop yes but suju's music still has always been there when i needed it. my vid rec would be "it's you" but the dance version, not the mv, because that level and scale of choreography and synchronicity was almost unheard of back then! revolutionary, tbh. also any version of sorry sorry from any of their super show concerts is bound to be a treat. theyve reinvented that song 33272x it's ridiculous! Heechul loves ROCK and was going to be in TRAX but instead debuted in Suju because he got into a fight with a vocal coach. 🤣. he has 2 mini albums with Trax's guitarist Jungmo. The duo was called M&D (Midnight and dawn). The albums: Cottage Industy, and Goodie Bag His song are very rock centric. Has done colab with Wheein: Narcissius With The Eve: Melody And has a song called: No Dap (Love it very metal)

"One More Time (Otra Vez)" came out in October 2018. You are 100% right, this song has a Reggaeton beat with a Korea and, Spanish collaboration mix. Although it looks like they filmed this MV in Las Vegas, they were actually in Macao China, which is kind of like the Las Vegas of China, and it was filmed at the MGM Resort there. There were 8 SuJu members + 3 Reik members in this MV. You might have noticed you didn't see Heechul sing or dance. He was recovering from some more health issues at this time that prevented him from singing or rapping in this song, so that is why you saw him sitting in the chair and only killing us with his looks this time. LOL At this point the oldest members Leeteuk and Heechul were 34 and Ryeowook, one of the maknaes of the group, was 31. This MV was actually the first MV that Ryeowook was in after being released from his military service .And I believe it was Ryeowook that did the ad lib in the song. Reik is a pop-rock band from Mexico, which is a trio that is made up of the singer you heard with the Spanish lines, and the two guitar players you saw in the beginning as they walked down the hall together. (Super Junior entered from one direction and Reik entered from the other direction.) Yeah, Super Junior is once again paving the way for Kpop in a new market. I’m around your age and I fell in love with SuJu back in 2011 all because of the Korean Drama Playful Kiss. There’s an iconic scene where the main character lists all the members of SUJU and you can probably find it subtitled on TH-cam. I literally just listened to them because of that scene and that was the best decision I ever made. The way this group has had me in a tight grip! And you’re right, watching new people react to Super Junior reminds me why I absolutely love them! Thank you for this!

11:25 When you said Siwon looks like Goo Jun Pyo from BOF, FUN FACT here, Siwon was originally offered that role but he rejected the offer. Well make sense bcs at that time 2009 there were a lot going on at Super Junior. The departure of Chinese member Hankyung/Hangeng which also the first foreign kpop idol. Also Heechul almost left to pursue more his acting career too and also, bcs of his leg condition after 2006 deadly accident. The accident still hurt him so much till today. (That's why he will no longer participate in dance for Super Junior comeback and only sang for the album songs.) He thought there was nothing he can contribute to the team and he thought he only being burden to the team at that time 😭

I've just discovered them only at the beginning of this year and I can't stop listening to them every day and night, astonished by the way they do pop, rock, mixed with rap, latin vibes...Super Junior KRY is a sub unit that impress because of the vocals of the three main vocalist, Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung, singing ballads mainly, they were the ones who trapped me first in their blue zaphire 💙 web. Twins sampled (small UK band) Triple 8's song Knock Out from 2003. Do you remember it?? They were promoted as 'the UK NSync' so funny you made that connection. I liked them at the time but they weren't around for long. Couldn't believe it when I found SuJu and made the link!! 😆 Edit: I love their earlier rocky sound, they perform some of their other songs live as rock versions. I love it. And I love their Latin crossover songs, I've watched every fancam I could find of Otra Vez to hear Ryeowook's ad libs live 💙

can't believe don't don came out the year before shinee debuted (i think it came out in 2007, sme just reuploaded it in 2009), it feels like two completely different eras of sme boy bands haha anyway if you want another suju song that rules from the don't don album, check out man in love (갈증) which i think is on the repackage. that was like my favorite song ever when i fist became a kpop fan.
*Fyi for Dont don* -The violin guy is Henry Lau (A VERY TALENTED BOY!). it was the first time he's introduced to public as "super junior additional member" (SJ system was planned like Nct system now) -Kyuhyun was just discharged from hospital 2 months before the album's release from an accident that almost took his life in April 2007 (yes, he was in hospital for 3 months)
Assuming that you mean H.O.T and SHINHWA when you mean "first gen kpop", I think the reason why you associate Twins with them is because they fall under the SMP "genre". Actually not sure if you could call it a "genre" but, yeah, it's basically a SM coined term for hard-hitting music with socially conscious lyrics (at least the older ones) that is high in performance level too (hence M-usic and P-erformance). Some classic SMP songs you might already know: Don't Don!, EXO's MAMA, and DBSK's Rising Sun.
Also, I think you'll like their concert performances very much! It's not exactly going back to the Twins era, but they do perform a lot of their songs in rock format! (recommending 'A Man In Love' from Super Show 2 and 'Bonamana' from SuShow6!)

"One More Time (Otra Vez)" came out in October 2018. You are 100% right, this song has a Reggaeton beat with a Korea and, Spanish collaboration mix.
Although it looks like they filmed this MV in Las Vegas, they were actually in Macao China, which is kind of like the Las Vegas of China, and it was filmed at the MGM Resort there.
There were 8 SuJu members + 3 Reik members in this MV. You might have noticed you didn't see Heechul sing or dance. He was recovering from some more health issues at this time that prevented him from singing or rapping in this song, so that is why you saw him sitting in the chair and only killing us with his looks this time. LOL At this point the oldest members Leeteuk and Heechul were 34 and Ryeowook, one of the maknaes of the group, was 31. This MV was actually the first MV that Ryeowook was in after being released from his military service .And I believe it was Ryeowook that did the ad lib in the song.
Reik is a pop-rock band from Mexico, which is a trio that is made up of the singer you heard with the Spanish lines, and the two guitar players you saw in the beginning as they walked down the hall together. (Super Junior entered from one direction and Reik entered from the other direction.)

I’m around your age and I fell in love with SuJu back in 2011 all because of the Korean Drama Playful Kiss. There’s an iconic scene where the main character lists all the members of SUJU and you can probably find it subtitled on TH-cam. I literally just listened to them because of that scene and that was the best decision I ever made. The way this group has had me in a tight grip! And you’re right, watching new people react to Super Junior reminds me why I absolutely love them! Thank you for this!

11:25 When you said Siwon looks like Goo Jun Pyo from BOF, FUN FACT here, Siwon was originally offered that role but he rejected the offer. Well make sense bcs at that time 2009 there were a lot going on at Super Junior. The departure of Chinese member Hankyung/Hangeng which also the first foreign kpop idol. Also Heechul almost left to pursue more his acting career too and also, bcs of his leg condition after 2006 deadly accident. The accident still hurt him so much till today. (That's why he will no longer participate in dance for Super Junior comeback and only sang for the album songs.) He thought there was nothing he can contribute to the team and he thought he only being burden to the team at that time 😭

Assuming that you mean H.O.T and SHINHWA when you mean "first gen kpop", I think the reason why you associate Twins with them is because they fall under the SMP "genre". Actually not sure if you could call it a "genre" but, yeah, it's basically a SM coined term for hard-hitting music with socially conscious lyrics (at least the older ones) that is high in performance level too (hence M-usic and P-erformance). Some classic SMP songs you might already know: Don't Don!, EXO's MAMA, and DBSK's Rising Sun.
Also, I think you'll like their concert performances very much! It's not exactly going back to the Twins era, but they do perform a lot of their songs in rock format! (recommending 'A Man In Love' from Super Show 2 and 'Bonamana' from SuShow6!)
