Paramount/King Features sold the Popeye cartoons copyright to AAP in the 1950s and after a bunch of corporate mergers, these cartoons are now copyrighted by Turner Entertainment. However most of the prints were actually stored at the Paramount library and according to the people involved in the restorations, they did a lot of work with Paramount.
Because Warner Bros. Entertainment and Paramount Pictures Corporation cross-lisenced each other's logos due to co-produced films (Friday the 13th, Watchmen, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)), some of several John Wayne films originally distributed by Warner Bros., in which Paramount Pictures currently owns, among others.
WB only had the cartoons under Turner Entertainment (as well as the Hanna Barbera series), when Paramount sold the cartoons to A.A.P., not all Paramount shorts has sold to a.a.p. when it comes to NTA/U.M&M./Harvey Films Paramount itself...owns the live action movie and King Features Entertainment owns the franchise, which would held for a new movie by a new director known as Craig McCracken, Genndy isn't involved cuz he hates Popeye #ScrewTartakovsky

Not all paramount characters, only popeye and superman owns by warner bros, casper and the harvey gang was own by DreamWorks animation
