    Thank you for taking the time to compile such a detailed review and answering the questions. it would be great to see another of your long-term reviews to assess this one's durability etc.

      I'll do that, if this DAP will stay with me long enough. But usually, I'm very careful owner, so almost all my gear is durable

      Porta_Fi Thanks for replying! I meant more along the lines of hardware issues like touch sensitivity or flickering developing later rather than misuse. That said, it looks as though the Hidizs team are tops both in product design and (firmware) support, given the few issues reported in the last 3 years.

    I bought my Hidizs AP60II about a month ago, but I only had MP3 files on the 64GB card I installed. This DAP makes the most of MP3, the sonic deficiencies are not even apparent. When I load up my 128GB card with lossless WAV (my preferred format by far) it should sound even better. I have tried Samson SR850, AKG K92 and Shure headphones, but the best sound came from an old cheap pair of Bluedio headphones,which kept me dancing around the house for 3 hours (and I'm a 60 year old invalid). I have better Bluedios arriving soon - they are my favourite headphones of all. The AP60II has a somewhat dark sound, with plenty of bass, really great mid range, but a little subdued treble, although the Samsons made the most of any treble. The Bluedios sounded best. For my very limited resources, this was the best DAP I could afford and I'm not in any way disappointed, though searching alphabetically is a bit of a pain without individual letter search available. The sound makes it all worth while.

    • @TukaSlave
      @TukaSlave 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, and I had to switch it to the lower gain setting, because it is amply loud enough for any headphones of about 32 Ohm or less resistance, and is great through a small speaker of 5 Watts or more.

    Hi. 2 questions
    1. Can you modify the sound (for example use the equilizer) while you listen to a song? 2. Can you repeat a part of a song many times without having to press the butons every time you want to listen that part? Some sony players have this function. Great review
    Thank you

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      2. no, this one don't have such feature

    Does it record? I am looking at the fiio m3k. I want something with SD, audio recorder function, folders, easy to skip to a specific place in a recording. Good battery and inexpensive.

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, it doesn't work as a recorder
      only M3K does
      may be some other inexpensive chineese DAPs could record too, but I don't know exact model names

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure, but may be it's a limitation of firmware. it's a basic device with limited CPU and memory, and probably it can't handle big DB, so they've limited tracks count

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      there are different "high end smartphones", for example LG ones have a dedicated DAC, so they sound even better than this player. other smartphones without proper audio schema usually sounds worse

    • @PortaFi

    I've V-Moda Zn (flawless punch bass!) headphones and considering to buy Hidizs AP60 II to pair it with my headphones and use it in my fast running/cycling workouts. I just wonder which armband I should buy to fit the player in? Also if we would compare this device with Sandisk Clip Sport Plus and Fiio Q1 MarkII, would it beat both in sound quality for any file played? Thanks for quick responses in advance.

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello… first of all, please note, that AP60 isn't powerful DAP (35 mW for 32Ω), most probably it'll be enough for that V-Moda, but I didn't tested them together, so I can't tell for sure
      as for armband, as far as I remember, stock leather cases for AP60 comes with some elastic armband. yet again I haven't tested that myself, but at least it's stated and pictured on AliExpress :)
      if you need to be more sure, you can ask on the Head-Fi in the owners thread, probably there will be someone with experience
      as for sound, AP60-II is better then Sandisk (better layering and resolution), but is behind Q1-2, as Q1-2 actually is indeed a decent DAC/amp. but for Q1 you'll need some source and it'll be not really portable rig
      just as another option you can consider some Bluetooth adapter to use with your smartphone (like Bluewave Get or upcoming FiiO's BTR3)

      Thanks for the detailed and quick answer, I appreciate it :) As a sub3hour marathon runner, I try to carry the least possible weight while training at high speeds for long distances up to 40km (on foot) and up to 250km (on bike), so that's why I don't want to carry my iphone 5s in those workouts. V-Moda Zn's were a huge investment for me for a low budget audiophile, therefore I'll try to buy a matching DAP with that, instead of buying bluetooth headphones. Good to know that AP isn't strong. I need a high volume performing DAP, as I run/bike on the main road with loud traffic noise in 4.5Million populated big city. What should I look for as far as the power output then? Thanks again.

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      actually, the only DAP that I know having both small size and plenty of power is xDuoo Nano D3. it's a bit worse then AP60-II in terms of sound if compared on sensitive IEMs, but on full-sized cans it's power probably will be better. and it's pretty inexpensive :)
      but I didn't tested it with V-Moda, so, as you probably guess, it's a suggestion based on pure "theory" :)

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry, but I didn't test that, and I'm traveling now, so I can't test it right now. You can ask that on Head-Fi in owner's thread to get 100% exact questions

    Men the sound is very low for my ir that becauae i use kz es4 ,what headphones would you recomend ?

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't test ES4, so I can't recommend any particular models, but if you need more volume, you need to look at specifications and find model with higher sensitivity and same (or lower) impedance

    • @PortaFi

    Which player should I buy the hidizs ap 60 II, the fiio x1 II, or the shanling m1? I need aptx with bt for my Sony wh 1000 XM2.

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you need aptX - then FiiO isn't an option for you. out of Shanling and AP60II you can select based on design. AP60II is a tiny bit better sonically (and I like it's look more) but via BT there will be no difference

    • @bettyxd9
      @bettyxd9 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the quick answer. Yes for the Sony I need aptx. And designwise I like the hidizs more. In future I really think about switching to cable over ear, because I think the bt even with aptx sounds not good enough. But for several reasons I ve to use wireless at the moment.. Poorly I never tested Bluetooth with aptx because my smartphone doesn't support this. Can you say anything about this? Is it worth buying an aptx device?

    • @PortaFi
      @PortaFi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yep, aptX is noticeably better then SBC. but implementation of receiver matters more, and if receiver is good, it can sound OK even with SBC. but anyway, it'll usually benefit from aptX

      I didn't tested IE80 with this DAP, so I can't tell for sure, will it be a good pairing. In theory, IE80 are pretty sensitive, so AP60II will be enough for them, but I can't tell for sure, without trying
