I wonder if you can leave all keys at home except for the activity key & start the engine using just the AK? I just don't like the idea of leaving keys inside the vehicle even if they are disabled until the car is unlocked with the AK. That way, with the AK on your wrist, you don't worry about keys at all before, during or after ones activities. I had a Volvo with a similar device however, that had a limited lifespan as it was battery powered & operated like a blade-less key fob (just much smaller & waterproof). Sure enough when the car got to just under 3 years old from new, their key for activities battery started to fail (it operated keyless entry so the transponder was operative) & so it could only be replaced at a cost plus coding in by a dealer, so I prefer the LR solution - it has more logic and delivers a long lifespan of the product & so better overall value for money & practicality. My guess is, you cannot operate the engine & you have to take a full / regular fob with you.
