    This is a review of the Lenovo Tiny In One 24" Gen 3 Touch Monitor / Tiny In One PC. This version has a "borderless" 23.8" 1920x1080 HD IPS LED LCD 16x9 Display, 10 Point Touch, 1080p Camera, dual speakers, dual microphones, USB 3.1, DisplayPort, and the 3-in-1 connector to support a "Tiny" PC. It supports a VESA mount and Kensington Lock. The base swivels, tilts, and lifts up and down. It can also be pivoted or rotated 90º to go from a landscape to a portrait layout. This monitor has a 3-year warranty!
    The model number for this display is: 10QXPAR1US
    M720q Tiny PC amzn.to/3ecDOyv
    I really like this as a touch display, but I love the "make your own all-in-one" aspect of the design. I have always recommended against all-in-one PCs, because they aren't very repairable, they are expensive, and it seems silly to have to replace a perfectly good monitor because of a motherboard issue or other hardware failure.
    Feel free to ask any questions in the comment section below. If you have info to add, I'm always glad to learn something new.

    Can you use the tiny pc separately from the monitor and still use that pc with a power supply even if you bought the monitor? (you get what im saying?)

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a power supply included when you purchase the PC. The monitor has it's own power supply included as well. If you put the tiny PC inside the monitor, then you only need to use the power supply that came with the monitor.

    This is great! I never knew there was such a monitor that could accommodate the mini computer itself. Makes me rethink the idea of buying All-In-One PC's. This approach you showed makes it so much possible to repair & upgrade! Fantastic!! Thanks for explaining all this.

    I'm hoping to set up the same computer. Still in the box and I'm studying the setup first before manually doing it. Do you still need to press turn on the mini pc and then turn on the monitor power button? Also, only the power cord is needed to be plugged no other wires to connect to the mini pc? Hope you can still answer this question. 😅

    • @ZipTieNinja

      The monitor power button will power the tiny PC inside on. Only the monitor power adapter is needed.

  • @ALTZIMATE

    You never got back to me on that last question I noticed. But moving on to my second question. Are you able to hook another source to this monitor, like a ps4 or xbox? I'd imagine you use a adaptor to convert one of the ends to an HDMI. But... would it work???

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have responded to the older question now. TH-cam only shows all comments, or the one's you haven't responded to at all. If someone comments on my comment, like a follow-up question, I can't filter for that. I have to scroll through hundreds of comments to see if people respond. Their email alerts are hit-and-miss as well. Monday I had 5 new subscribers, but only got alerts on 2 of them...
      The rear input is a DisplayPort connection. I doubt a game system will work with this. Those devices need HDCP to work, and that standard keeps changing. I have an old TV that won't work with my 1st Gen Xbox ONE because the HDCP is too old on it's HDMI...

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a separate USB 3.0 Type B connection on the back of the monitor that should allow the webcam and touch functionality to work on an external PC.

  • @tango_g_sierra
    @tango_g_sierra 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi man, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to things like this. I was wondering if its possible this monitor would work, specifically with touch functionality, if connected to a Lenovo laptop, and if it is possible, what ports would I need connected between the screen and laptop. Cheers 👍

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should. You have to run video into the DisplayPort on the monitor and USB "Type B" 3.0 for the touch functionality.

  • @TonyYouTubeChannel
    @TonyYouTubeChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I found this very useful thank you. One question though please. When I connect my ThinkStation P340 Tiny to my TIO24 Gen4T 23.8inch Monitor it tells me that the wattage (90W for the monitor) is less than that recommended for the Thinkstation (it came with a 230 watt power supply) and computer performance will be lower than it should be. However, as the Tiny is integrated per your video you cannot connect the 230W power supply. Is it true the computer really needs 230W or a myth? If so, presumably you have to un-integrate them and attach by cables?

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because yours is higher power, use the power adapter that came with the PC instead of the monitor. I don't want to get into a ridiculous amount of detail, but it shouldn't hurt anything because it is higher amperage that is fine. Lower amperage is where you get dangerous.

    • @TonyYouTubeChannel
      @TonyYouTubeChannel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ZipTieNinja Many thanks for the fast reply. The higher wattage will not damage the monitor?

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This starts to get complicated quickly. All that really matters is that the voltage is correct, and that there is enough or more amperage than needed. Wattage is just a product of voltage and amperage calculation.

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's easier to think about it as the available wattage. It's not sending wattage to the device.

  • @nicolaslara2849

I've been reading from unofficial sources (surprisingly can't find any info from Lenovo) that I should connect them both with USB 3.0 in addition with the DisplayPort for the webcam to be recognized by the external PC. Do you know if that's the case?

    • @ZipTieNinja

    • @ZipTieNinja
      @ZipTieNinja  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the version of your Surface Book (1, 2, or 3) you can connect either the Mini Display port or USB Type-C to the monitor's DisplayPort to connect for video. Then, you can connect the USB Type-A on the Surface Book to the USB Type-B 3.0 on the back of the monitor to get the touch functionality.

    I got 1 of these today - Tiny M75Q and the 23.8 Touch Gen 3 monitor. Display is nice and fast but the camera is horrible! How can this be a 1080p? The image is grainy and moves slow and it shows very dark. When I adjust it, it's not saving, so every time I open the camera I have to set the brightness. Plus, it's showing mirror image...Please check yours and give me your feedback. I'm regretting this monitor.

      For anyone who has an Amazon Customer Service PC, first of all, you cheap sneaky rats!
      Second, the solution is to first remove the TIO from the monitor. Then you slide open the TIO and remove the SSD. If you happen to have a PC with SATA connector or a hard disk enclosure then you can simply format the disk, and install a free copy of windows. Don't ask me for further instructions, just Google the solutions.
