- In November 2022, during a short but memorable stay in Lisbon, some friends of mine helped me to throw together an impromptu solo piano performance at a wonderful recording studio called Timbuktu. We ended up with a small audience gathered around the piano and a video crew to document it. It was a bit of a chaotic period for me in my personal life, but there were some moments we captured that evening which felt worth sharing. This is one of them: the first piece that I played that night, a prayer of sorts that I wrote for Terence Blanchard's band (recorded on his album "A Tale of God's Will"). A sincere thank you to everyone who helped this to come together, particularly Diogo Alexandre, Inês Laginha, José Soares, Joana Appleton Figueira, and Diogo Cavaco. I hope you enjoy.

This is truly an amazing performance. I've listened to it dozens of times now, and I hear something new with every listen. It's so incredibly moving. I've been a pianist for almost two decades, and it takes a lot to get me excited about a piece of music. However, this... This shook me to my core the first time I heard it, and it just keeps getting better. Much praise and respect to a true master.
You are the type of audience master parks deserves.
I really enjoy it when a pianist plays the piano literally piano(softly) without sacrificing rhythmic vitality as Aaron displays here.
Perfection in...fingering - voicings - touch - melody - atmosphere - sound.. everything.
he lives every tone - what a beautiful present to listen to his musical landscapes
I hardly listen to music anymore.
I did when I was young
but over time my tastes condensed
into a few tunes I now know and play
endlessly in my head
no longer do I listen but simply remember
I will enjoy remembering your music
Who would like a transcription of this song🎼😉?
Just beautiful. Thank you, Aaron 🙏🏻

I got turned onto your music from Noah Kellman's channel. So glad I caught that video.
"Ashe" is a therapeutic song.
This is such clean playing, with gorgeous sounds, on an exquisite instrument. Thank you. It’s utterly delightful.
Wow, beautiful music and improv too! Can hear shades of Keith Jarrett and even Dave Grusin too! Truly beautiful! ❤🙏🔥
Thank You❤
I first heard this tune on Terrence Blanchard's "A Tale of God's Will" album, I absolutely love this tune. I've been waiting for a long time for Aaron to do a piano solo version, finally a dream come true! Thank you Aaron. You're my musical hero.
Man, you're right, it was totally worth sharing! You just touched my soul.

Amazing Aaron !
Sweet. Thanks, man. Just want to tell you your Like Someone in Love duet with Gretchen Parlato is, imho, one of the best renditions of this tune. On par with Bill Evans'. Hope you hear you live sometime, somewhere.
fyi "something, sometime" is the name of a Kurt rosenwinkel tune that Aaron parks played on
Keith Jarrett influence?
That's Portuguese, right?
"Ashé" is an african term (from Ethiopia) that designates some kind of life force present in all things.
