The family, except for Songul, gets up from their seats to congratulate the soon-to-be parents, showering them with hope, joy, and blessings. Babaanne’s delight at the idea of seeing her great-grandchild highlights the beauty of family expectations and desires. Halil’s confidence gets another boost when Zeynep’s mother suggests that motherhood would be good for her, making him feel justified in his lie. Yet, beneath the celebrations, there’s a looming sense of dread: what happens when the hidden truths start coming to light? Halil’s nod to Zeynep’s mother reflects his belief that this lie is somehow the right path forward, but he’s walking on a very thin line.
Halil already shares a secret with Zeynep’s mother that she would likely find unforgivable.
