This season looks like will grounded in the historic facts. The characters are like the walking dead. Don't get to attached. They can easily fall off at any given moment.
@@Pecent12 Frank and Vincent are so different and yet so alike. Both are now family men with the skill to navigate the pit falls of the lives of others. 1985-90 the Mob wars are also in full swing bang bang. That's something else to be mindful of.
I don't understand why they jumped a decade. The pimps are gone, the Duece is gone, the show is lost! There was so much more story to continue with and they passed it all.
The show got cancelled i believe and they gave them one season to wrap it up. I guess the real Vincent told them this is when the wheels fell off so it gets wrapped up here. It's a shame because i am sure there was plenty of story left to tell
@@williambaugus927 - so you're saying it was cancelled after S2? But then somewhere down the line they decided not to cancel it and pick up S3 a decade later so as to not go through the time "when the wheels fell off"? I guess that can make sense. I am liking this season now. It took them three episodes to really get into things. The first two were just all over the place with no real coherent story line.
@@jeffs6090 yeah from all i have read it was cancelled but at the least they are letting them wrap it up. I am enjoying it as well. It did start slow but has really picked up. I am really not sure why they jumped to 85 but the Martino brothers were real people so maybe it's because of what that told David Simon. And you know 1985 was when the mob really got taken down so maybe that has something to do with it. I was a huge Deadwood fan and was torn up when they cancelled it. I wish they had gotten one season to wrap it up. I don't think they wanted to make that mistake again. Even though they just recently did a Deadwood movie 10 years after
@@jeffs6090 Two episodes left. I also read that Frankie and Tommy selling coke was going to set the tone to a lot of people's fate. Which i am seeing is true. I would have loved to gotten more but it is a business so i understand. I just love David Simon's shows.
Great set design in costumes. The writing is not that good. Every episode is the same thing with good scene setups but rarely do we get a payoff. The most frustrating show I've ever watched. Not going to miss it when it's gone.
Disappointing… the set and scenery were on point but the characters were just lack luster. So much could’ve been done. They should’ve stayed in the 70’s longer . Vince’s gf was just annoying. She came off as an entitled spoiled brat. I don’t get why the end was so focused on Vince . He had the easiest plight out of everyone . It was the characters around him that made the show. Season 3 killed off or moved all of the interesting characters out of sight . Too much time was spent on boring Paul
personally really enjoyed this episode and loved the different perspectives on how people were living through new years

Appreciated the insight into the background but the transit cop? Really? Was that character deserving of a special mention and focus?

It was still the Deuce until the mid 90s when the zoning laws were changed to force most of the porn related businesses away.

Yikes, Seasons 1 & 2
This episode was not that exciting😐. I guess I will wait for sparks to fly in episode 2.
