agreed it doesn't mean "doing the real thing", but I recently started using an MPC for sequencing and sampling instead of Ableton, and it def encourages me to be a lot more selective in how I listen for samples and what I do with them, so ultimately certain aspects that slow the work flow down are helping me to make cooler stuff. I also find it more fun than using a mouse and a computer monitor.
Well i guess DJ premier, Jazzy jeff are no longer pro dj's anymore LOL! Theo my homie, but i disagree with that line of vinyl. I do see his point but i still disagree to the fullest.
Yeah cool, Ive owned various AKAI samplers over the years in conjunction with a midi sequencer. Editing samples was a pain in the ass and boring as hell so I moved with the times about 10 years ago. I'm not trolling here, but I really don't understand the point of making beats that are completely out of time, and that take 10 hours longer than if you used some modern equipment. Or is this just all about that silly argument Analogue Vs Digital, in which case, you have proven why Digital is better, because its taken 2 hours just to put together a loop that you could make in 5 mins on a modern DAW. Or am I missing something here? lol :-D
I think if you listen to Theo's music, and let's say some "modern" digitalally (DAW - ABLETON) produced music, Theo's music is a lot more raw and "from the soul" sounding. Sure, it's not pitch perfect, it might not be in perfect 10th decimal time, but it is quite emotioanlly charged music.
I have that couch. $199 from Ikea.
Incredible.
Sugoi Kakkoii, Very cool
Need to get a mop and bucket for nina when Parrish is around
Theo's cool as fuck!
You'd think they would plug the MPC in before they started..
i love that look the russian kid in the blue is giving theo after he records the off rhythm snare drum... 1:04:40
big ups the future is retro!!!

theo putting all these cats on the spot - nina and vakula included!

Scary how he does music no live instruments, guess that's the evolution of music.
I detest these snobs who don't want to engage
20 minutes for chopping a snare and a hat. I love his music, but spending hours for a simple chop doesn't necessarily means "doing the real thing"
+SbirroFunk His release catalogue vs yours = he's right about whatever he says musically.

boooring
Looks like a game of how many Russians does it take to hook up a turntable to an MPC

LISTEN TO THEO IN 2020 IS STILL A GREAT THING
btw. I would beat nina´s a$$ off lol
1:27:36 that's a reflexively 😄
im so jealous for having that opportunity to ask him about music production !!!!!
Немного удивился, когда она заговорила на русском
question quality sometimes stupid
This is the coolest thing ever!
how is he able to keep his focus with nina next to him ?
1:08 Vakula drives the sampler : )
2brutal4me
theo deserves so much better than this
20:30 MPC is digital
he expounds and expands his POV and person definition. Analog = human experience, physical. Digital = synthesized, the simulation of analog.
nina: do you know people have been trying to copy your music..."
theo: *giggles*
you answer to yourself ? Lol ?
Vaya grande.
yes
jay d the ONly master of MPC......?

@@michael_mack ahahaha. Theo jest jaki jest, ale to co robi zdecydowanie uzupełnia braki w tym co mówi :D

+Matthew Harris Here is something Theo dont know thats special.....The Akai MPC is digital.....he talked up all that shit about analog
ha ha he does talk a lot of shit. He is a walking paradox becuase he talks sense in equal measures.
