This whole training process is fascinating. Not only are they taught the skills to be an idol, they are also taught the resilience to accept criticism and to bounce back after hardship. Given the toxicity that all idols will have to endure, this is good practice for what each of them will face throughout their career. Idols are not only accepted for their talents, but also their strength of character and ability to work as a team. Being an idol is neither for the weak nor for the petty.
Pharita just killed it. And Rora has such an incredible tone and range of power! 🎵🎤 Then Asa, holy crap she’s good 👍 Chiquita…first time seeing her so sad 😢. Fighting! She and her buddy Ahyeon will dig deep next episode. Thanks for another fun reaction. ❤❤❤-❤-❤❤❤
Technically, Yang Hyun-suk is not the CEO anymore but Head Producer. He had legal troubles and had to step down but he is one of the founding members of YG Entertainment. Keep in mind with the evaluations, they are not trying to give them unnecessary trauma. The whole purpose for YG's training is for the member to be able to handle the realities of being an idol. Yang Hyun-suk isn't just the founder of the company but was an idol himself. Their training is done to prepare them for the real world and live performances. That is the reason that they have such a long training period before debut. Ruka, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, and Rora had been there for about 4 - 5 years at this point and Pharita and Chiquita about 1 - 2 years. During that time they give honest feedback so that they will be able to handle what is being said in the real world. And actually YG has calmed down but I think that it is also because most of the members are about his daughter's age.
