    • @ChrisZoomER
      @ChrisZoomER 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chaoszombie9995 Yeah, that’s one of the reasons why I like the current livery better much to the dismay of other plane spotters. The new livery has a lighter shade of gray, (while not having the chrome’s reflectivity) still has a metallic luster instead of just plane white, ahem… I meant plain white. Thus giving it that silver color. The mirror effect made the chrome livery look dim aside from its shine.
      But the biggest thing I like about the new livery is the huge vibrant flag design on the tail which to me screams Americanism and patriotism!

    A few nice catches. Lots of 747-200 / 300s. JFK was 747 land at the time.
    The aborted (?) landing is a Finnair MD-11 OH-LGC, likely the one later in the video.
    Nice to see the Concorde. And the Aeroflot IL-86.
    Quite a few DC-10s and MD-11s. The AA metal livery was nice.
    The Saudia Arabian 747-300 HZ-AIO seen at the end, was written off after being taxied into a ditch in Kuala Lumpur.
    Pity that on most airplanes it's almost impossible to see the registration.

    • @motsumilioness
      @motsumilioness 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Was Air France a 300 or 400? The 400 first flew in 1988 so it fits the time. Alitalia looked like a 200. I know the 200 and 300 don't have winglets.

    • @jgnclvgmng5408
      @jgnclvgmng5408 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@motsumilioness Seems to be a 400, it has winglets. Air France did have an F-GETA 747-400 in its registry, and all the letters I can grasp seem to point to that one(the penultimate letter is a blur). The footage is pretty bad in resolution and focus, as usual at the time. The AF Cargo one seems to be a 100 or 200.
      Alitalia did not have 300s, only 100s and 200s. It's always hard with 747s as many had physical changes that make them seem something they're not.

      Captain aborted the takeoff roll after reaching not the V1 speed but Vr. Copilot was flying and when he pulled back on the yoke the stick shaker activated. He handed off to the captain who pulled the throttles to idle after the plane was 14ft in the air. Plane slammed down hard which caused a fuel leak and fire. Pilot slammed the brakes on and deployed spoilers and reverse thrust but ran out of runway. He managed to skid off the end and did a hard left turn and brought it to a stop in a grassy area. Plane was on fire but was successfully evacuated with no deaths. Stick shaker was set off by a faulty angle of attack sensor. When copilot handed off control to the pilot there was a sinking feeling where the FO released the control column. Captain felt like the aircraft was not controllable and so made the decision to abort. Plane was traveling at 208 mph when throttles were closed. In reality the plane was perfectly able to fly.
