The most important thing I noticed is that there are no Halos over their heads. In the Blue Archive (of course) and in Project KV the most distinct feature of character designs were halos (followed by weapons), which I really like. In this new Project RX I didn't noticed any halos, and there are probably won't be any. The outfits also looks a little bit strict I would say with those 2 characters on the front. They probably are either maids/secretaries or the whole project would follow this thing with occasional casual outfit like the girl on the background. The place for some reason looks like a hall in the mansion or some big home. When Blue Archive (Epic Anime rpg) dropped their image teasers they show schools, tower and a president chair, in Project KV they show again students, schools, etc. But here they show that hall. If I follow the pattern it's either a some sort of a main building for our character (we as a players) or sort of a building where these girls are doing their duties. To me halos were really nice in character designs in Blue Archive and Project KV. It's kinda a shame that there are non. Now to the UE5. The most important thing you should remember that it's not a lightweight engine in terms of space, but it can produce an anime style game (you can look at sking in Fortnite or Wuthering Waves, for example). For some reason I think it will be more like an action game where you actually moving the character/s instead of top-down view like in Blue Archive. It's usually a pattern in such games. We'll see how they make a game. In my experience with global Blue Archive server the F2P experience was great. I can always pull limited characters even if I don't play constantly. If this game break that experience in a negative way, it's probably will be a hard pass for many players.

UE5 is a big engine for a simple autobattler/SRPG/RPG unless the graphics and environments are an active focus and are hyper realistic (ie Honkai Star Rail/Girls Frontline 2). No Halo's = Not Blue Archive, so it isn't going to be a different entry into the series either; They also don't have guns, or any weapons visible for that matter. Really the only connection to BA is Nexon, and since you brought up the Gacha I was under the impression BA was their only non-evil gacha...

On the contrary this project was mentioned longtime ago and might be reason why others quit, among the many rumours some claimed the staff that left wasnt part of this project and might have triggered some fears that BA would be discarted.
To anyone worried about Blue Archive dying because of project RX, it’s unlikely. It looks like project RX targets a different audience just from the 3d description, likely something similar to ZZZ or Honkai where there is things to grind for and people’s main game. BA on the other hand positioned itself as a secondary gacha, an idle game. Also different studios means both will still get developed and updated.
i always sort of theory crafted that if BA did ever get a sequel, the game would only progress 1 year and a lot of the focus would go to outside of Kivotos (with some smaller stories happening within Kivotos) a lot of the 3rd years would graduate (with the exception being Hoshino since she hasn't been studying and failed graduation). Abydos would get a nice flood of students with the events of FTF Ch.3 showing off their stregth. Sensei would focus on the threats that are coming from outside of Kivotos and with all the 3rd years in tow tacking those threats. He woud certainly still have responsiblities as a teacher, but the theme of the game would be about taking your first steps into adulthood.
The main reason for them to switch to Unreal from Unity was probably the monetization kerfuffle Unity tried to pull a few months ago, where they were going to charge developers "per download" or some crap like that.
I liked the art for Project kV better, but I'm still interested to see what they come up with for Project RX. Nexon's quick action against KV makes even more sense, now. A PC client would be awesome, but I don't know that I'd want them to move away from chibis, having a human proportioned character just doesn't read as well in isometric view games. I guess they could go first person like Genchin etc. but I wouldn't be as interested in that. I guess Girl's Frontline 2 has human proportioned characters in an isometric kind of view and that doesn't look too bad. I guess we'll have to see what they come up with.
Im kinda looking forward to it, if it takes place in the same universe as blue archive, imagine if its in a different city outside of kivotos and the students use semi futuristic melee weapons
Knowing that this is all still under what use to be known as NAT games prior to their buyout, I trust that this game might be well done, monitization wise. Now the real questions are gameplay, story, character designs and perhaps censorship drama. A good translation too, and if that isn't there, then at least we can take solace in knowing Nexon does read their support tickets.

decent design...but not that hype seeing their design. what no halo :C? also if you don't have time to read through the story...so far i found two contain creators on youtube that reads through the story with their own twist and spin. very nice to listen to and follow along the story if you are busy with work or other games or both.
You can read through the story of BA just fine even if you are busy. Episodes are small, and story progress is bookmarked upon completion. So you can read the story bit by bit during a lunch break

I can't speak for everyone, but I play BA, Nikke, Star rail and ZZZ and I'd drop one of the others before I stopped playing BA.
