@@LifeWithTheSistahs I don't know where that site got their info from but we don't speak French patios. We speak Vincy Creole. The site even says some islanders speak French as their first language and that our Creole's vocab consists mainly of French words. I don't know a single soul in Vincy, born and raised Vincy, that speaks French as their native tongue. It's not the first site on the web where I've seen that piece of misinformation before either. I'm genuinely curious where it came from.
we Vincy also say, "where are you going," the same as the Jamaican do it in broken english. way-yo-grine! is mostly in the city and ah-way yo-a-go your heard mostly in the country. ah-way yo-a-go is how know I hear it and how I use to say it too as a child growing up home. we also had a saying that Vincentian and Jamaican sound alike.

In Jamaica we wouldn't use the word 'store'. We don't usually say where we are going like ' come gu a road wid mi' or follow me go a shop or maybe nobody ever invited me to shop😂

Trinidad and Tobago has their own dictionary called Cote Ci Cote La for persons who want to understand the dialect.
The Queen in the yellow made me proud fo real. 🎉🎉🎉
And "yes" is also " how" example:
You want more food?
Me: How!!
We say fried bakes on St Vincent and Jamaican says fry dumpling.
The Vincy way for, I don't want to be bothered is, "Na-bada-me."
Jamaican also say nuh bada mi
The lady in yellow spoke like ah real vincy twang
I'm from Town and I totally agree!
What I also found is that Jamaicans dialect is so similar to others😅😂
