+Olivia Roach You will have been entered for one of two exams - G322 will ALWAYS be a TV Drama, usually British, in Question 1. If you were entered for G323, you will have a Radio extract, but you'd have been studying completely differnt things for this!

Do you think you could do a video like this on age or disability they seem a bit harder? also your paragraph was really good but I dont think I would ever be able to write something like that because I dont notice all those small details and can't link it very well.... any help would be very appreciated!
Have you seen my other video on cinematography? In that one, I explain that I find the bet approach is to look at the clip very literally - what do you actually see happening. THEN you can have a go at assigning meaning - and always have in mind the 'big answer' - if the overall message in a text is that old people are lonely, for example, consider why particular music, camera angles editing etc have been used, and if they are contributing to you feeling that way. Hope that helps - it takes a bit of practise, good luck!
OK here's a hypothetical example: A prison visitors room is lit with low-key blue lighting (observation) The lack of light and blue tones connote sadness, lack of warmth (analysis) Now, how would this represent the prisoners? Is it stereotypical? Is it positive or negative? Is it accurate? How does it relate to public perceptions in the media of prisoners? These are some of the question I get my students to ask of a text to get to the root of representations.

Hmm, not specifically, but regional identities are often stereotyped to make subtle differences more obvious, so I'd look at Dyer or O'Sullivan fir stereotypes. Having said that, Q1 doesn't really require theory - it's more about analysing stylistic codes...

It's not so much about how much you write, just the quality. The only thing I would say though is that youMUST write about al 4 areas because you can't get better than Band 2 if you don't. The simple answer is 'as much as you can write in 45 mins!'

How long would you say your answer needs to be in total? I can never pass two sides of A4 and I'm just not sure it's enough... thanks in advance :)
