I will admit it to everyone, watching your TH-cam channel is exceptionally beneficial to my lack of knowledge with post processing. I have a system where i will watch once and then watch again stating and stopping to write down what I feel are going to be helpful. You have made the post processing aspect of photography much more enjoyable and I thank you for that.
Rapidly becoming my favourite photography TH-cam channel. I really like the teaching style - oriented to a goal but explaining the steps needed to get there.
Thank you, Nick. Another great example showing your artistic talent and technical skills, combined with an honest and open teaching style. We appreciate you, sir.
Thank you Nick Page , a great way to start this 2023 , excellent PS class, a Fantastic 2023 for You and Family , and the rest of the World, Thank you Master Nick
Fabulous edit of this Thor's sequence. I was lucky to fry a 5D MkII there years back. Wish I were back there and can't wait to get my old pics out and try this fabulous tutorial.
Nick, Thank you for another gem of a tutorial that gives so much information. Its a special day for me when you put out a new video, because I enjoy them so much.
In academia, we always clap at the end of someone's presentation. I just noticed that I was spontaneously clapping at the end of this video as well! :D Excellent tutorial!!
Great tutorial Nick! Thank you so much for taking the time to do it and help the rest of us to learn. I really like how impactful yet subtle your editing is. All the transitions look so natural. I struggle with that aspect, so thanks again for putting a great educational content out here.
Nick, once again you have shown what separates you from most photographers. You are an artist who begins with the end in mind, better than most. You pre-visualize your shots thinking how they might look after some PS magic before you press the shutter button. Well done and thank you!
Brilliant video man! I love seeing your process on scenes like this. You’re not only showing how, but also just as importantly, explaining why. Love it! 👊🏼
In one video, I've learned how to blend photos, what masks and layers are and how to use them (it was so hard so far) and of course, how to balance colour. Thank you so much.
Thank you for the last couple of videos. These have been very helpful. I appreciate your way of teaching. You make it simple, clear, and easy to understand.
Man, Nick glad you have the patience to work so long on a single image, the more I look at it it starts looking more like a painting than a photograph. Personally I like the composition and the angle how you shot the image. Thor's well in Southern Oregon is a well photographed location and many images where taken from a high viewpoint, so this lower viewpoint is very interesting. I hope you can print it and is enjoyed being looked at more often. It is definitely a dreaming kind of a landscape.
Around the 23-minute mark, when you said, "I'm just going to do one more layer here," I instantly said, "Of course you are!" and laughed and laughed... Very nice video. I wish I had the brain to see and edit the way you do. So patient and detailed.
Nicely done, Nick. I like your videos and your personality. Don't let negativity prevail and do whatever makes you happy. People who like your videos and work are much more than the haters and the trolls. Be sure about it.
Thanks for another solid and very helpful editing video Nick. You are helping me to transition from Lr to Ps and grow my tool box with luminosity masks.
Bravo Nick. One of the aspects of your print I really like is that you used, wether you noticed it or not, you probably did, color to produce (depth) in Your photo, a characteristic artist have been trying to create probably since the beginning of 2 dimensional art. Bob.
Nick, Thank you so very much for this video….was so special to have a video with you using the color balance tool as a color grade! I use quite a bit, especially very end for wildlife….I learned something new from you within that adjustment. And…on the special “Nick” Orton effect …using the Gradient Tool when needed for back of image. Thank you again!❤❤
Valuable editing video, with a lot of useful tips and advice. Great advice to keep an eye on the blue tones especially when adding contrast to a image. Thank you for sharing this one Nick and all the very best for 2023.
Well… after having seen it, I’m sorry to say this but… I was right. 😉 Great video and very well explained. Some nice techniques I have learned with it. Thanx for share your knowledge! 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Great tutorial Nick, The subject manner really came at good time for me, struggling with a desert image from the Southwest. I find when colors start to get away, crank up a color balance layer to keep things natural. Really looking forward to more of your tutorials both office and in field for 2023.
This was an excellent tutorial not just concentrating on colour balance but the workflow for seascapes in general… I remember 10 years ago using multiple images from the same set creating a final balanced and dramatic image. Your video is on another level with subtle tweaks which overall can really bring a raw file to life. I must admit I still use Nik Color Efex4 choosing tonal contrast for the important parts of the image. It’s just a matter of preference. Your luminosity masks to add the the dreamy highlights works a treat. Thank you. All the best from Devon, UK
I love your videos and watching you edit. You have a way of making something so complicated seem like it's well within my reach. There's always so much information to pick up. I just wish that I had the brain space to retain it all! 😆 Thanks so much for putting out videos that are so thoughtful, well explained, detailed, and extremely helpful! Have a great New Year!
Good stuff, Nick. In LR you can match your exposures up equally by selecting a group of images with the the target exposure image selected and go to settings>match total exposures. I find it handy sometimes for blending images
Awesome work Nick!! I have a few seascape-type shots that could benefit from this method. I am finding with wave action, it seems relatively common to get several frames where one part of the image is a lot more compelling than others. Bringing those elements in, in PS would be a game changer. Additionally, I purchased a Wacom tablet after watching what you're capable of with yours, and after Mr. Heaton raved about his. I respect both of you a lot, and really admire both of your works... One question I do have... Do you have any videos (or could you make an updated one) on how you have your tablet set up? I need some help there. I think once I get it set up completely, my workflow would be a LOT better. A couple things I am particularly interested in, is the positioning. Is it relative? Maybe I just need to get used to using the tablet, lol. Thanks again Nick, for all you do!!!
Can you share your Wacom pen pad settings? I've tried to use that same pad but the pen is way too sensitive and jittery. No amount of changing the settings has helped.
Thanks Nick; this was a very nice teaching tutorial. In the Orton effect section of the video, you mentioned matching the blur radius to the “pixel radius” of the camera. I know how to calculate the pixel size of the camera by dividing the linear pixels, say along the width of the image, by the physical width of the sensor, but how do you calculate the pixel “radius” of the camera?
It doesn't need to be exact, really it just to personal taste, this image was taken on a Sony A7r iv... which is 62mp... so typically I use a pixel radius of 45-65... Images with my R5 I usually go between 35-55... No exact science here just personal taste. The smaller the pixel radius, the more subtle the effect

One of the best tutorials I have watched for post processing and bringing to live a dull image in less than 30 mins. Thank you!
While the entire video is amazing, the water drop fix totally blew my mind! Freaking brilliant!
Thank you, Nick. Another great example showing your artistic talent and technical skills, combined with an honest and open teaching style. We appreciate you, sir.
Outstanding as always Nick. I love your editing style, but I deeply appreciate your manner of teaching. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Amazing processing video! You actually make it understandable, which a lot of Photoshop presenters struggle to do.
Thank you Nick Page , a great way to start this 2023 , excellent PS class, a Fantastic 2023 for You and Family , and the rest of the World, Thank you Master Nick
Thanks for your time Nick! It is valuable. I will be sure to watch your ads.
Amazing Nick, I like your workflow and the way you post process your images!! Thanks for this video and for your passion!
Nick, you are a master of light. Thank you for another brilliant video tutorial. Now I have to go and re-review my images of Thor's Well.
Thanks Nick for helping me along on my slow walk to post processing nirvana.
Good to see you back with a new post.
I learned so much watching you think through an image and process it accordingly. Thanks Nick!
I've missed these! I hope you keep them coming because I learn so much from you!
In academia, we always clap at the end of someone's presentation. I just noticed that I was spontaneously clapping at the end of this video as well! :D Excellent tutorial!!

Your editing is so incredibly accurate and fast. You make it look so super relaxed as well :-) Really nice Nick.
Great video Nick. I’ll need to watch it a couple more times to catch all nuggets in there.
Hello Nick Just wanted to say thank you for you MAVEN filters recommendation. I think they are the best thing since sliced bread. Cheers
Nick, once again you have shown what separates you from most photographers. You are an artist who begins with the end in mind, better than most. You pre-visualize your shots thinking how they might look after some PS magic before you press the shutter button. Well done and thank you!

Always look forward to your videos, thanks again!

Excellent tutorial Nick, thanks.
Great blending tutorial, and inspiring image.
Great stuff! I'm heading to Thor's Well this weekend and will use this in editing. Thanks
Around the 23-minute mark, when you said, "I'm just going to do one more layer here," I instantly said, "Of course you are!" and laughed and laughed... Very nice video. I wish I had the brain to see and edit the way you do. So patient and detailed.
Excellent video Nick! Some really helpful tips on managing colour, something I really struggle with!
That was great Nick! Beautiful image. That sky, wow. Very helpful tutorial. Thanks!

I appreciate that thank you
I really like that camera raw approach to add warmth to the Orton effect.
I really love the way you edited this photo. Beautiful!
Man always love when you post a new video.
Lots of great juicy nuggets in this one, and superb image I love it thanks Nick
great video nick, explains simple way and easy to understand one of the most complex thing in post processing: color
Top video nick!! Thanks! I was going to go for a shower but I might just get cracked into a file and try this new split toning technique haha, cheers
Thanks for another solid and very helpful editing video Nick. You are helping me to transition from Lr to Ps and grow my tool box with luminosity masks.
Awesome! Thanks for that. More than one nugget for me in there. :)
So well done! Thank you for taking the time and sharing your knowledge with us all!!! Be Well!!
Great video thanks Nick!
Nice studio. Looks like you edit some picture and then turn around and rock on out some drums to stretch out.
Bravo Nick. One of the aspects of your print I really like is that you used, wether you noticed it or not, you probably did, color to produce (depth) in Your photo, a characteristic artist have been trying to create probably since the beginning of 2 dimensional art. Bob.

Awesome video, Nick! There is always something to pick up for me.
Btw what's the song at the end of the video? It's amazing!
Love your vids. Every single one is so interesting.
Very cool - thank you for sharing :)

no better person to learn from regarding post-processing. Great video man
Very helpful, thanks.
Great video Nick. This will help me lots!! Ouch on the thumb nail
Brilliant!
Good stuff, Nick. In LR you can match your exposures up equally by selecting a group of images with the the target exposure image selected and go to settings>match total exposures. I find it handy sometimes for blending images
Works well except when you have different amounts of sea foam like in this image
Excellent
Is this a photo of Thor's well?
And what about transparent stroke in a center of bottom?
Awesome work Nick!! I have a few seascape-type shots that could benefit from this method. I am finding with wave action, it seems relatively common to get several frames where one part of the image is a lot more compelling than others. Bringing those elements in, in PS would be a game changer.

Opacity vs. flow. I always get confused on these two. I don't have a tablet so pressure is not an option as I only have a mouse.
