I'm sorry this gon be a bit long but Regarding your point....I also have been lock'd for around a year now (full head with 68 locs) and mostly I wrap my hairs when I go somewhere (my hairs are on straight side so it covers frizz as well) but the thing is those people who have seen my hairs compliment me and always tell me to not wrap my hairs and show them to everyone whereas I think I have locs because I wanted them for myself and not for some specific people or a group of people or to show them off to someone. So I personally love the point that you talked about how being yourself is just a good thing and also we can learn from arteyu that if you have something that is precious to you, showing it off never gets you anywhere.
