Besides with most of death metal being drop tuned to A/B/C, I am planning to eventually just get a 7 string guitar once my speed technical playing chops improve. For now songs like Agent Orange by Sodom and Heatwork by Carcass are tons of fun to play and close to death metal songs with the tremolo fast picking and low tunings.
Renaissance Man I know there is a Ibanez rgbi6 I believe that's the model it's a 6 six string with 28 inch scale length the string goes through body and has a fixed bridge and also the I believe the low e string can fit a think stings like 70's probly
yea looking at low cost Ibanez, ESP, and Schecter 7 strings in the future but they must have a floyd rose tremolo system that is the challenge for the cost.
Renaissance Man Its around 600 us dollors
Great video Tyler!
sodom is one of the best, if not thee best thrash band
Nah man slayer all the way
The Mule Wodos

Drift0r of guitars.
You're raw bro great vid, informative and you're a hella dope player
I'm kinda triggered by the way you played Holy Wars but I understand it's just to prove a point
Kreator - Mental Slavery riff is very easy for beginners and so fun to play for anyone interested. also master of puppets main riff
thrash doesn't obey to any rules except speed and aggression! tonality is out of the picture
Albert Nederland Have to disagree, try playing the Angel of Death riff shown in the video in a major scale, it sounds hella different, not nearly as aggressive and nasty, tonality still makes a difference.
FartyFiddler Yea I get what you mean, but my comment was to be seen more as a mentality statement of thrash metal. However some crossover thrash bands would do more major riffs once in a while. But to me the core of thrash is really more the playing style rather than theory.
Albert Nederland yeah absolutely, but you can find theory in anything if you really wanna ;) even if the artist is unaware of the theory behind what they're doing, but I get the mentality statement ;)
The harmoic minor sounds link the ending lead riff of Creeping Death
It is. That end part is just working up and back down the harmonic minor scale.
sodom is the best thrash metal band ever
SICK!! Awesome lesson 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You played holy wars weird
Brandon Booze
He’s actually playing the Riff of the verse at the pretty END of the song.
So it’s actually right because Dave is playing this simplified version there..
🤘🏻
