After spending 3 days in the mountain regions of Aksu-Zhabagly, with no network or connectivity, we headed to explore the ancient cities of Shymkent and Turkistan.
Both these cities were part of the Silk Route back in the day, and you can see glimpses of that in Turkistan especially. In this vlog, we explore Shymkent, eat some local Kazakh food and try the famous horse milk, visit the ruins of Otrar, head to Turkistan, eat a meal with a local Kazakh family, and visited some beautiful mausoleums.
Being a huge history buff, I really loved this place and the story behind it. We also ate some delicious food along the way and encountered camels! ❤️
In the next vlog, I’ll be exploring the capital city of Nur-Sultan/Astana so stay tuned for that!

Concerning the 🍵 tea, i want to say that it’s only in Shymkent region and in some parts in the southern area people fill tea cup only half or even less. In the rest of Kazakhstan people fill tea cups full until the top. Kazakhs from Shymkent region are a bit different in terms of doing everything differently than the whole country. Even the language has some little difference especially the dialect. The rest of the country speaks pure Kazakh without a dialect.
Kazakhstan is really a very picturesque country... Its weird i also pronounce it as Kazakhistan just like u do, irrespective of whatever... N girl u get soo tanned easily when ur in strong sunlight.. specially ur arms n face... Trying using a shawl or scarf...!! 😎😘🌼🌸💗
