I appreciate you showing info on some of these SWA. You mentioned you haven't seen much wildlife. Have you seen any of the migratory birds coming through yet?
That is about the only hunting out here. I have heard some hunters out at Brush Prairie Ponds, and it is on my list. Most of the wetlands out here are going dry. This entire basin has fracking, feed corn irrigation and cattle. I am not a hydrologist, but, along with the drought, there is a scary amount of stuff drying out. I walked part of Cottonwood about 4 months ago, and it was about 50% dried out. I wish It were not so. Thank you for your interest.
Still have not seen any geese. I used to think people are hunting. More likely bored, sucks to go hunting and see nothing, so they spend a few shells shooting at anything. Also, land owners around here really like to target practice on their private property. Kind of also sucks, because I have to hope they are discharging their fire arms responsibly, doesn't exactly enhance the "wildlife" experience. Starlings are starting to flock together. When I see the geese, I'll make sure to post. Hunters and fishers play an important part of our public land management.
