with how rare these books are and how even now I haven't been able to land ONE throughout my hours of dungeon crawling and meteor/supply farming (AND after dealing with all the Pal Critics mind you), it just makes me wish they were something you could just buy from like the bounty officer or the Dog Coin vender. Sure they'd be really expensive so grinding for them would take a bit, but at least it'd be a surefire way to get them
I heard that they aren't likely to spawn in until you get the first ones from the NPC pal critics. Idk if it's true but if it is then that seems very unfair for single-players. I hope it isn't true because if it is then I'm screwed because so far I've only gotten the watering books. Obviously I'm grateful to even have them but if the rumor is true then maybe that's all I'll get!

Already having to do that since they added new and better passives like the remarkable craftsmanship to be better than artisan. It sucks because I've already bred dozens of various species of pals to make future breeding combos much easier and faster, but if the new passives are good enough to make a difference like with how useful the Vamperic passive is, then it's all that effort for nothing.
Fr, I only got a legendary schematic when I was breeding a ton of Suzakus for combat and butchered the alphas for civilization parts. This was after they added the ability to hatch alphas, but I didn't have a Yakumo to speed up the process yet and only had raw RNG to work on. If it took that much effort to et one schematic and knowing that the odds of getting it are higher than the books, then this is gonna be ridiculous!
its somewhat understandable that legendary blueprints are in range of 1%-0.1% because once you have it you have "infinite" of it given that you have sead resauses to make use of it. but these having a 0.1% in dungeons is rough, 1% from big lv60 chest is ok-ish but still bit too low for something you would want a stock pile of. like for me i can't stand jormantide as a base pal too damn big so was looking for kitress or bushi to get to kindling 5 cuz not too small or big and look cool. so i'm gonna stick to jormantide till i have enough books for what i need but will take a long long time to do that without save scumming. i aint gonna bash anyone who does that tho we all got a life to live and everyones fun is subjective but save scumming aint for me.
@@rorygasai6611 Blazamut Ryu specifically has the same efficiency as Jormantide and level 4 mining as well. technically it is better because multi-use level 4 efficiencies in both.
I really hope they come up with away to farm them better in the future. As much as I'd love a base with nothing but my absolute favorites working with the same efficiency as the SD-tiers, it isn't worth the grind at the moment.
My question is can anyone confirm if you can use more than one on the same pal. I want a base full of small pals like cattiva and foxsparks with max efficiency without mods even if it takes forever to farm them.
this explain a lot of thing... I decide to stop playing today because of the insane drop rate of everything new. I was max everything before the update (except the quad missile legendary) and after 2 week of doing the super hard and time/ammo consuming new rig + the old one and a lot of cave.... I got nothing news or better than what I already got. 90 giants soul for 1 perfect pal is also insanity. end game is for die hard only now and not as fun as before.
i saw some people said the books dropped chance increase when you finished some kind of npc quest i dont know if this is true but it would justify the reason why the wiki leaved it at 9%
i think the droprates might straight up be bugged because not only have i not seen anyone get them but i have reset the lvl 60 oil rig big chest hundreds maybe even a thousand times to get all of the new legendary weapons and in that time i havent gotten a single one. I even got all the weapons which are lower drop chance
Yeah I got curious after not seeing them drop at the 9% drop rate I kept seeing posted. I Did the datamine today to see the actual drop rates for these and the new oil rig stuff.
people are misunderstanding that number. all it says is that each book is equally likely to show up when a book drop is rolled, it doesn't represent the rate at which any loot generated will roll that pool with the books.
Lv 60 oil rig. I got all my legendary drops from there. Basically get to the big chest, after the chopper fight, save then go to settings let the game auto save every 30 minutes so it doesn’t overwrite your chest save. Open the chest. No legendary. Quit. And then repeat. Quit as in close the game, not the in game quit which saves. Basically save scumming.
These books are to fun of a system to have on such a low drop rate. I think many of us want our favorite pal working in our base, but are replaced by massive and Gaint boss pals.
thats a realy good question actualy... like IV seeds are inherited from the parents IV's so i am hoping it is the case for this cuz those rates are ROUGH XD
Thanks for putting this together! Does this book mean we can get Level 6 Work Suitabilities now? Also: I don't understand why they put the Chances for everything so low. Do they really expect players to do straight farming for 20 hours for everything?
This might be due to multi-player servers so to prevent end game item overload, but this is not great when you are a solo player. Hopefully they up the chances in the future or at least make them purchaseable like the stat fruits.

No testing done yet but I am assuming it will effect it as any other crop would be affected, as it follows the same watering/growth/harvest steps and the associated skills. Typing this out I realised there isn't a 'planting' step so I guess it could be different, but I am operating under the assumption that anything that has a 'Growth' action will be impacted. Anecdotally, when I added a lullu it seemed to make the bar fill a little quicker. Edit: I'm aware that doesn't answer your question as all I just thought the thought process was worth sharing.
Unfortunately it doesn't. Or at least it's not noticeable. Tested it with 2 vs 6 vs 10 fully condensed Lullus and the growth rate remains around 3-4 ingame days.
Id ask for your source for those numbers but its pretty clear nobody is getting any. May as well be 1 in 1000 because it sure feels like it. I figured I should treat the books I got like they were unique items, and good thing I did...
Are these books really that strong and important? In my opinion, it is only to make your favorite Pals good at base and not only the one with lvl 4 work suitabilities. The books affect only the base working speed of Pals and there are already lvl4 Pals of each important work suitability. The only one i would want a book for is for kindling, because Jormuntide Ignis is the only lvl 4 and he is huge. Maybe transport, but around mid to late game i do not really use transport anymore.
That drop rate is abysmal, but if it were better rates, it would technically allow any pal to be viable for bases, pal abilities like Prunelia's being the only exception.
I feel like even 2-3% would be infinitely better 😅😅... that's not even mentioning acquiring all of the pals for the critics. Grueling is the best adjective
I do hate this part of pal world the best most usefull tools are there for .01 chances and by the time I get one I’m alr end game and don’t need it anymore. Like why do I need a pal with lv 5 mining when I have 2 mil ore and hexolite with lv 60. Or I got a legendary plasma canon. But by the time I got it I killed xenolord ultra 10 times
this is genuinely why lategame palworld feels so bad to get legendary schematics youd need to finish the hardest oil rig which if you did then congratulations you dont need said schematics anymore since youve already done it
They shouldve added this to the medal merchants/bounty token merchants for 1000 each that way we still have to grind for each not pray for the RNG gods for chests to drop them :(
Wait, one book of each kind? I was in the understanding that only three of the arrogant pal critics give out books. Edit: PalDB is showing the same thing - the only ones you can get from the pal critics are the Handiwork, Watering, and Transport books.
Yeah I thought it was one critic per book, but it was only three and the one random book from the friendly pal tamer. for the others you will have to farm them the hard way for even the first one.
Are you sure they drop? you have any footage because I found some people claiming they do, i've ran alot of dungeons, chests, rigs, etc got 0 and nobody seems to have a actual vid demonstrating it most are saying it's bugged which is my guess too?

Recently got ps5 pro but kept my ps5 for some reason. Used them for save scumming oil rig and surprisingly much better to getting drops. Same save. One online and the other offline. Which ever gets the legendary I want, i overwrite the save and repeat. I have seen the books couple of times and I didn’t pick them lol I wanted legendary bazooka, laser and armors. Got all of them without serious save scumming. If you got 2 machines it’s much more reasonable for save scumming. After the legendary weapons, I targeted the ancient legendary mats. 5 or bounce. Helped a lot. Now I am a bit bitter I skipped some gathering books. I seriously hate giant pals. I only need books to make the whole place filled with good small sized pals. Preferably chickens or sheep.
It would be nice to see these books added to the Medal Merchant's inventory. 1,000 dog coins apiece seems like a fair price to me.
0.1% is completely insane for something people are going to want _dozens_ of.
0.1% for 1 book, getting the specific book you want is another 1/11 chance on top of that.

.1% odds....god. I love this game but this insanely low odds for something you want basically ASAP so you don't have to rebreed your base pals

I am Playing in normal Setting, did a lot of dungeon en never see something Legend.

If you want a smaller Kindle guy, there's Blazamut Ryu. I know he's end game but easier to get & breed him rather than farming books

Done that. Like all Pal critics I finished aftwards i did some oil rig runs and dungeons still no luck.

5 is still the max, now you can just get it on small Pals that won't be constantly stuck on top of the Gigantic Furnace.

Professor can you test If lullus makes skills fruits grow up faster at skill fruit tree?

The game files have the drop % for each type of chest. So this is straight from the files.

The short answer is no, but if you have pals that do multi-tasking, it would help that pal do all tasks at maximum efficiency.

i get one just for speaking to NPC in the empty cave. Entrance around 913,1322
And that one is random so if you're playing singleplayer you can reload to get a different type book.
