And actually, she kinda shouldn't have to apologize because some of the hate is coming from lies? But simultaneously refusing to elaborate on what lies she's even talking about? She very-well may be getting a disproportionate amount of hate, but the way she's going about this is not making me want to defend her. Just say "my bad, I was being edgy and dumb. To be fair, apologizing wouldn't mean a single thing. Nobody, and I do mean NOBODY actually cares when someone apologizes for something wrong. Once you've been vilified, you always will be in most folks eyes. And any level of actual sincerity won't matter either, anytime anyone does apologize it'll immediately be called a "fake/insincere apology" even if they break down in tears. I pretty much grew up on the internet, so hearing people say the n-word rarely bothers me. I just have more pressing black shit to worry about than that. But my lord, this v-tuber did it in pretty much the only way that could genuinely annoy me. From start to finish, she did literally everything wrong. First, saying in the first place is weird. Then letting her chat goad her into saying even more slurs was even weirder. But what made it annoying was her trying to excuse it by pretending that she didn't understand the words or why they were so bad. I don't know where she's from, but she's very fluent in English and obviously above the age of 5. The idea that she's some smol bean that couldn't wrap her head around the concept of slurs is the most offensive copout of all time. Not because of the slurs, but because she expected us to believe it. Then after that, to come back with a complete non-apology where she claims she's getting too much hate? And actually, she kinda shouldn't have to apologize because some of the hate is coming from lies? But simultaneously refusing to elaborate on what lies she's even talking about?
She very-well may be getting a disproportionate amount of hate, but the way she's going about this is not making me want to defend her. Just say "my bad, I was being edgy and dumb. I was leaning into chat, but that's no excuse. I should know better" and continue streaming like usual. Then, after awhile of not talking about it, people would move on and forget. But this weird thing where she tries to feign ignorance and then make herself out to be a victim is so lame.
