Cayo Costa Fishing Trip - Pelican Bay

In this video, we are doing a boating and fishing from Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda, Florida over to the beautiful island of Cayo Costa. Cayo Costa is a boat access only State Park island located just minutes away from Cape Coral, Punta Gorda, and Pine Island here in Southwest Florida. Our original plan was to head to the Northern part of the island, and fish along the Boca Grande Pass, which has some of the best fishing in the area. However, the wind this particular day was more than we wanted to deal with, so instead with took shelter in the Pelican Bay area and fished inside the Pelican Pass area. Cayo Costa State Park is one of our favorite beach and fishing trip spots in the Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Punta Gorda area. Since it is boat accessible only, you can get a huge chuck of the island to yourself, and feel like you are on an 'Old Florida Deserted Island'. This is what Florida looked like 400+ years ago. We ended up catching about 10 fish in total, and had a lot of fun doing it. It is a magical place to visit and one that I hope you get the chance to experience.
