Pretty solid list. I'd drop Shhnipe and Thunderclap down to a C, and put Beauty Backhand at B or maybe even A. Personally I think that's a very good, but underutilized ability
The most underrated unused D man perk imo is Seeing Eye. In 6s, you're shooting into a screen like half the time. If you learn to read screens, which you should do anyway, you get both a heatseeker and a thunderclap which can be used at any distance, and as a heads up, it can be used down low too. LT and Cross over a defenseman so he screens his own goalie and rip one. It feels like snappy or close quarters.
I thought that too, only problem is the majority of 6s I’ve played is just forwards cross creasing 90% of the time...if I’m lucky I’ll get maybe two legitimate shots from the point. Not every game, but most lol
@@skrrtuzzi Main thing is never shoot at a forward that is rushing you. Most of the time you want to change your angle first and then look to see what is open (passing lane or shooting lane) rather than trying to shoot through someone who is directly challenging, because the risk/reward is bad in that scenario. Usually your screen is the opposing defensemen, who still may block but it's not such a risk. It's mostly just experience, but I find the easiest screen setups are usually crossing side to side when it looks like you are going down lower. There is a little leniency on time right after the screen when you still get the perk effect. Don't feel like you need to be stapled to the blue line, either. If you're careful with the puck, you can move up into the slot and take advantage of the aggressive forwards. If you're not great at puck possession and don't want to take risks, then you'll want to get rid of it earlier than otherwise.
There are some abilities that are just good in general, but I think playstyle effects most peoples lists. Quick Pick and In-Reverse have always been go-to abilities for me because I make a lot of interceptions and always want to be facing up ice when I make those so I can immediately skate it up or make the quick pass to someone further up. In-Reverse is underrated for that because it makes you faster and if you have good agility (and an ability like Elite Edges) you're very agile. Plus the safest poke checks (both from a defensive positioning standpoint and a tripping penalty standpoint) to make are skating backwards in front of someone using vision control. So those two and elite edges feel like S tier when I use them. The way abilities can work together really effects their rating for me.
Not for custom loadouts, they’re only available on the specialty loadouts created by EA. I’ve been using the Agent Blueline one and it’s been better than any other loadout I’ve created before
Can you do this video but with attributes instead of badges. Especially in WOC I never know if Awareness, Balance, Puck Control, etc. are as important as other things like Shot Accuracy, Strength, or Disciple. Also how much different a 90 or 85 would compare to an attribute that is a 75 or 80. Like deking, if I have 78 deke I hardly feel a difference when I have 85.
Try bouncer in front of the opponent's net. even with tipper or crease crasher its pretty cool when it works. Yes limited and finnecky, I like it tho. Try it and let me know guys. Its not only defensive. Open your mind. :P
I disagree on third eye. I get it to proc more often than you'd think. I get it alot on simple backhand passes or any pass where the player is behind me at all, like hitting the late man in the slot. Something it's especially good for is behind the back passes to setup a one tie or if you play behind the net a lot. Maybe icon passing makes it pointless but i only manual pass so I wouldnt know
Definitely gold big tipper. Then I'd probably go no contest as it's really good all around, especially on forecheck and in front of the net if you want to pick up loose pucks. Then close quarters is always good, or stick em up / yoink or truculence could be great if you want better defense / hitting.
So with you watching to see how they work and how good they worked did you watch the ai play to know for sure cause playing the game is different cause I play and use ai in the franchise mode and it’s a big difference
I always had it on until this year's game. Poke checking feels ass. Whether i have the perks or not, pokes just don't get directed the way they used to and you end up poking to the other team or the guy who has it.
I think you underrate Back At Ya pretty significantly, I don’t use or like that perk, but people who know how to use the reverse hit with the perk are insanely difficult to play against. The reverse hit stops you from even poking them half the time, and if you get reverse hit with the perk you spend about 5 seconds trying to stand up. It’s actually quite cheesy I’ll comment on my own post as I go through this, I’m on my phone so I can’t simultaneously type comments and watch
Not necessarily disagreeing with your choice to put In Reverse so low as it is a very passive perk, but I find that it makes playing defense so much easier in a world without elite edges. I have a hard time playing D without it to be honest.
I will however disagree with the placement of Beauty Backhand though, it’s probably the single strongest goal-scoring perk in the game other than maaaaybe One Tee. It’s not just about breakaways, it’s about having the best possible shot no matter which side your blade is on… you can basically take laser beam wrist shots with your backhand with this perk. People who know how to use it are ridiculously hard to defend. Edit: I forgot to mention big tipper, these 3 traits make up the 3 best scoring traits right now imo, I prefer the ones that don’t rely on teammates to work though
I definitely agree with your placement of close quarters, but only really because as a forward so many of your shots are naturally taken on your forehand from in close. I don’t think the perk itself is particularly strong or gamebreaking though, I think it’s actually significantly weaker than the top 3 scoring perks I mentioned before, but it has a lot more chances to activate than those do in most games and for most players I also think you undervalue Shutdown for centre builds, that perk alone turns you into a back checking monster, in my opinion it’s almost mandatory in 3s or against sweaty teams. And gold Shutdown might be the single best perk in the game, sadly it’s only available on a couple of the D builds Good video overall mang, please don’t take my critique as not enjoying the video, I wish more people made vids like this.
The effectiveness of each ability is dependent upon the skill rank your opponent. If your a low rank going up against a high rank, the abilities won’t work as well as when your a high rank going up against a low rank.
Magnetic is useless
For real
yup it was a must have back in like 23 but last 2 years it's useless
Pretty solid list. I'd drop Shhnipe and Thunderclap down to a C, and put Beauty Backhand at B or maybe even A. Personally I think that's a very good, but underutilized ability
Yeah beauty backhand and all alone are both at least B, probably A tier lol
There is a button to defend deflections, A button (xbox) ties up a player in front of the net
Also, shove checks. You are allowed to shove in front of your own net, and they can't tip it if they're stumbling/on their ass
Is the Y button not better in this situation?
No its A. Thats how you stick tie @@_Sokarbank_
And even then it can be bogus, as it can take too long to tie up
Awesome video - I watched this to try to apply to HUT and found it pretty good.
Really good editing and microphone, Wingels is going somewhere

@Iamyourboo2 any tips on reading screens? I try to run seeing eye but feel like all my shots from the point get blocked. Thanks in advance

@@Iamyourboo2 Awesome notes dude. Thanks, and may the Chel gods bless your clappers 🙏🏻
here's your 1,000 follower. good info. keep em coming
Shock and awe is so overpowered if you do it with a toe drag release
Shock & awe by itself: D-tier
Shock & Awe combo'd with Puck On A String: B-tier
Great summary and analysis!

You can't use Elite Edges in EASHL....but other than that I mostly agree
You can hold X(A on Xbox) to tie up the stick to prevent the tip on defense
backhand beauty has got me 100s of goals with a 96 speed 99 deking build it works like a charm for a forehand backhand
Beauty backhand in C tier is diabolical. Easily the best X factor - backhands are so OP this year
Is there no wheels or elite edges this year?
Not for custom loadouts, they’re only available on the specialty loadouts created by EA. I’ve been using the Agent Blueline one and it’s been better than any other loadout I’ve created before

The way you’re stacking the abilities almost matter more than the abilities themselves.
I find Big Rig to be really useful in threes, is this listed based off 6's mostly?
I *love* shock and awe.
thunderclap is F tier for 6's Make it snappy should be A/S tier
what would be the best abilities to put on a grinder build, if i forecheck heavy and like to sit in front of the net and get rebounds/tips
Definitely gold big tipper. Then I'd probably go no contest as it's really good all around, especially on forecheck and in front of the net if you want to pick up loose pucks. Forgot to mention that Tape to tape makes backhand passes better
Do perfect builds for eashl next pls 🙏🏻
Love my Truculence. I get 15 hits per game and keeping the opponents down and drains their endurance
Hitting doesnt work against good players
he skipped wheels
Beauty backhand is definitely at least a tier
Shrug it off was so good in nhl 23 when it was way easier to hit
Stick em up should be S tier in my opinion
I always had it on until this year's game. Poke checking feels ass. Whether i have the perks or not, pokes just don't get directed the way they used to and you end up poking to the other team or the guy who has it.
Where is wheels
good list but i love shock and awe
magnetic at b while shock and awe is at d lol
Shock and Awe should be S tier if you know how to use it!

If you need tape to tape then your passing probably isn’t up to par.
Personally I believe that EASHL should get rid of X factors. Just play the game bare bones
I don't mind the different styles of play that the x factors bring, but raw dogging it could be fun too
No way you rate anckle breaker c it’s better than puck on a string
