When my beutiful momma died we did a lot.of meals for my daddy that he could juat heat up. It was comforting to know he was getting a nice meal and eating. I love that these options are available especially this time.of year whn some are lonely and missing loved ones
Whole Foods has not been stocking the usual holiday fare in the deli but they used to. Sometimes they have it sometimes not. The prepared holiday meals used to be a lot better. But so convenient. They do have some of the items for order here and there but I’ve never seen it at every holiday. Thanks Courtney!
I'm loving these full holiday dinner reviews! This looks yummy! Asparagus is one of my faves.. But i make them a bit differently.. Just drizzle with olive oil, salt n pep and saute in a pan for a few minutes.. They should still have a bit of a crunch 🙂.. It's good with a squeeze of lemon, too. Mashed potatoes are my comfort food lol. Very sweet of Courtney to treat you guys to this dinner ❤
Thank you Courtney!!!! My aunt shops at Whole Foods and I can tell you their vegetables are almost all al dente… you can buy most if not all of these items on the store… I think buying them this way saves you from having to go through store, pick them out and hope they have what you want… they don’t always have everything… I think it’s expensive but all very high quality…
Hey Tami and Kev. In my 90 years of living I've never had a meal like that on XMAS day and I can relate it to going out of state to a relatives house and experiencing a completly different meal like Coscos is offering for the holiday. For me It's been Ham or Turkey all these past years, but that meal that you both just had seemed pretty dam good and I wouldn't mind experiencing something very differ- ent from my usual XMAS dinner. I love asparagus but never had that lemon touch to it. The Beef Wellington looked yummy and I like mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes. All in All, thank you for that well done presentation and may you have a great XMAS. Lots of Love to you both from me in the Cape Cod area of Massachusetts.
I wouldn't order the whole meal because of the price but I would order things that would take the most time to make or never made before like the Prime rib, beef wellington, turkey, mac and cheese, or lasagna but then make my own string beans, and mashed potatoes, etc. Especially if you have a favorite recipe for a dish you make all the time. This way you're not trying to make the entire meal yourself but also and can relax a bit if hosting the meal without worrying if everything will be done on time. You can prepare your own dishes before even picking up your order from Whole Foods and then reheat them before everyone arrives.
Hmmm ,i just had a sandwich for tea and i`m hungry watching this!:LOL As someone who doesn`t really have a sweet tooth ,that pudding looks amazing !:) Merry Christmas to you both ,and to Courtney xoxo
Thank you Courtney! I love croquettes. I've made ones with mac and cheese before, but my favorite filling to use is chicken and ricotta. They're surprisingly easy to make! 😁
Years ago, my husband and I went to a Christmas dinner every year where they served Beef Wellington. It was so good! We had asparagus growing along our property line in the back yard. You break it off and it continues growing. We cooked it occasionally but weren’t crazy about it. Had several friends who were happy to pick it on a regular basis. Around the parameter of our house, we had rhubarb growing. With that also, we could use it a couple of times a year but all our friends were happy to pick as much as they wanted.
They didn't cover the yule log in the filling because the yule logs are delivered premade, then thawed and the covered in a buttercream that is also delivered premade. At least that is how it was when I was there.
You and Kevin have great taste! Beef Wellington would be my choice too!! I’d never have thought that WF would offer this for more than Thanksgiving. It’s so neat that they do… if you can afford it, of course! I wonder if they offer just two of the beef Wellington. My mom would love that for us for Christmas, I’m sure. The holiday catering section of their website only lists them in 4s but maybe I’ll drop by and see if you can buy them individually in the store!
OMG Julie. I just found those little beef wellingtons by Chef Ramsey at Costco this week. They are more appetizer size, 20 in the box. I made a few last night in the air fryer. They were delicious. I had one, my husband had four😂😂
This is a lovely idea! Love your reviews, as always! Have you considered doing a video on your Christmas holiday meals/desserts for next week? Any new recipes you are going to try? Perhaps a brownie based dessert dish?
The vlog videos that come out on Mondays is where I show all the food we are making. It’s in the vlog the week after whatever holiday has just passed. So, Thanksgiving food was in the December 2nd vlog. Christmas food will be in the December 30th vlog. We have been reviewing so much, I haven’t had the chance to bake anything new.
Thanks Courtney! I can’t believe how generous you are! My favorite items in this meal are the Mac and cheese bites and the chocolate Yule log! I would try the beef Wellington if it was well done. I can’t eat meat that is red inside. Otherwise, a nice holiday meal option!
Hi Tammy and Kevin I didn’t know that Whole Foods offers all these different varieties of food everything looked delicious and they had dessert was so good I wish I could try it and thank you so much to Courtney she is so generous and thoughtful and it was definitely an interesting video I loved it happy holidays to you and your family
Wow how wonderful of Courtesy, again😀. Each of these elements sound great to me and this whole meal sounds really good. The only part I could pass on are the Mac and cheese bites. I love the way the asparagus turned out, they’re exactly how I like them. Well done for eating the mashed potatoes, know you’re not a fan normally. The beef wellington looks like it was cooked to perfection. Thanks for the review.
Yes Tami, I hate my food touching too!! My dad and I are polar opposites for our Thanksgiving plates lol. I also don't love mashed potato texture, but a rough mash is okay for me. I don't like when they're like whipped and fluffy lol.
Before you even mentioned the possibility of buying it all ala carte, I had already left the video to call WFM to ask if I could buy one piece of Beef Wellington, it looked so nice. I was told no, that you must buy it in packs of 4 only but you could do that. It is $109.99 and you can only buy it online and then pick up. It is on their site under catering-Christmas-Ala carte. I looked and sure enough it looks like all the parts of your dinner are there but must be bought online only, not in stores. And he said if any Beef Wellington is left after Xmas, they would cut it up and put it on the hot bar!
Courtney coming through again, she truly is a blessing not only to you guys but also to all of us for giving you guys and by default all of us the chance to experience so many different brands and foods. I'm an absolute sucker for a Yule log it's my favourite Christmas dessert! Tami I'll have to send you on Instagram the absolute gems of Yule logs I have for both Christmas day and new years 😋
@TamiDunn America needs to get on the Yule log train like we do in Europe, we have so many different kinds, I have to pace myself or I'd buy them all 😂
Courtney seems like a real dem to have as a subscriber. Enjoyed the review, looked great

I agree! It’s wonderful of you to share this 😊
Knowing that a loved one has a good meal is so comforting. I often think about those, especially senior citizens, who do not…
Dunn family well see y'all this next Friday early morning 🌄🌄🌄

That’s so neat!
Love the thumbnail! What an awesome gift! It’s awesome you can order a holiday meal from Whole Foods! Courtney you are a gift! 🎁 Great review.
Thank you! I think it’s great too!
Its a great concept for some people! Nothing beats a homemade meal tho but these are great alternatives!
I think this would be a great gift to order for your elderly family or friends who can no longer do the heavy cooking.
They didn't cover the yule log in the filling because the yule logs are delivered premade, then thawed and the covered in a buttercream that is also delivered premade. At least that is how it was when I was there.
The chocolate buttercream is delicious!
I was surprised to see that you guys didn’t go over the prices.
We don’t know the prices since Courtney paid for it. We just picked it up.
@
Ah, I wasn’t sure if she gave you guys a price list or sent a receipt, like she did with the Honey Baked Ham dinner.

I make Beef Wellington for special occasions! It's one of my favorites.
Is it time consuming to make?
@TamiDunn not really. I had to buy a food processor to make the mushrooms a lot quicker. I also use store bought puff pastry sheets.
Walmart has a Chef Ramsey Beef Wellington

Thank you again, wonderful choices.
