Commenters, I'm REALLY liking the Oruku Saki/shadowy figure is Shredder and William Fichtner is Utrom/Krang conspiracy theories. I could totally get behind this movie if they doing that!
I just wish thy hadn't overloaded with all the blades and bulk on Shredder. Seriously, he's supposed able to be as quick and agile as the turtles, not Bane from Batman and Robin.
My two theories of Shredder: 1. Eric Sachs is the MAIN villain while Oroku Saki gets an upgrade from Sachs so he can have revenge on Splinter and the turtles. Shredder is the Darth Vader to Sach's Emperor. Let's face it, you get a good big actor like Fichtner he's going to be a big villain. 2. That sigh/faint is award winning!!! (Note the sarcasm) I have nothing against Megan Fox, but I really can't see her as April at all. I have the feeling that for that one reason it may ruin the film slightly, which is a real shame.
The one thing I was majorly worried about was Knoxville's voice for Leo but in this trailer it sounds just fine. I'm really pumped for this film. Growing up with depression and anxiety because of my parents' divorce and mom remarrying to a military man, we moved a lot and therefore I never made friends. In it's place I grew up being so into all the cartoons and shows that would come on and TMNT was by far my favorite. Even though I missed out on the comics, I had watched every cartoon adaptation, every film, had all the toys, shirts, plates, pajamas, etc. It was a big part of my childhood and when I see people say that this is ruining their's, I can't do anything but think that is immature foolish thinking. I remember I was hating the film too but over time when we got footage, I've started to grow on it to the point that I am now taking that day off and going with friends and family of mine who grew up with the turtles as well and enjoying those couple of hours in a Imax showing of it. Always a Ninja Turtles fan, except for the female turtle and that christmas special; fuck that.
Wallace Thompson being "decent' doesn't get you that far though. We're talking about a guy who didn't have any real voice acting experiences under his name except an episode in Spongebob.
Jacob McMillan until he makes nonchild friendly comments on social media then the parents are all up against him. but yeah I thought Knoxvilles voice in the trailer was good. really good. but it is that one line so we'll have to wait till the movie comes out. but this trailer has got me excited as hell.
Black Nerd Comedy The only thing different really is Vern perving a dish on that April tush and the US trailer shows the Turtles being loaded up in the truck.
Alright, I'm gonna go ahead and come out and say it: I'm 18 and have never seen an episode nor a movie adaptation nor read a comic of Ninja Turtles. But you know what? Andre, your absolute passion for this franchise has just convinced me to finally check it out. So keep up the crazy fanboying!
dunno some teens are huge, just because of their genetics or stuff like that. maybe that's what they were going for and it just didn't work out like they was hoping.
Andre, the song in the trailer is Reptile by Skrillex. It's about 3 or 4 years old so the inclusion of it in the trailer is probably less "TMNT in the new MK" and more "fighting reptiles".
I'M SORRY BLACK NERD BUT THIS COMMENT... THIS SAYS IT ALL: ''Arguing with 87 fans is just a waste of time. I grew up with the 87show too but this is how tmnt supposed to be. You don't know how many times I argued with them and when I tell them it's close to the comics, the only response is "um, yeah we'll, and a load of bs ensues from their mouths. I even had a mom that told me that tmnt was never meant to be dark. Says who? You or Peter laird? Keep in mind, I am not forcing anyone to choose the 2k3 series, all of this is when the 87 fans start spewing trash and when I correct them, they refuse to let go their pride. Now nick has brought back the 87 show into the 2012 show. Sadly, me and my friends who are turtle fans have stopped watching the show. The new one started off well but it lost it's staying factor. The only saving grace is the shredder. Make the turtles dark again. The 2012 is a step backwards, not forward.'' If the movie does the same just to feed the old fanboys, blinded by nostalgia and their love for the cheesy show... it will suck. TMNT needs to be dark, solid, but with the contrast of the cool, funny and nice turtles. Also, they should have kept the white eyes, colorfull eyes look terrible.
I agree to that extent... but don't need to be 100% accurate enough to be like the comic, JUST BE CLOSER TO IT! You mentioned "should kept the white eyes, colorful eyes look terrible... dude... IM ALREADY (or anyone) satisfied enough to see the turtles with no pupils in the 2k3 series... WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?? Their eyes in this new movie... meh great/decent enough as it is. That's the same small complaint like Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy that many dont like it, cause batman doesn't look like more of the cartoons/comics (e.g. no pupils). Peter Laird and Kevin thankfully did not let the 2k3 turtles have PUPILS in that Turtles Forever animated, anniversary movie btw :P
Seabook Farno Batman is a human, they're mutants, they can easily create some explanation for them to have no pupils. Also, the turtles look way more cool and serious with no pupils, whilst Batman looked a little bit ridiculous when he turned those ''light eyes'' at the end of The Dark Knight.
Manusfilm Studios Yes I'm a fan of the 80s cartoon, but I TOTALLY agree with you that a "darker" TMNT would be nice. I get what you're saying, but that's the point I was making in the video. If you follow the base of what TMNT is about, you can make it any style you want - comical, dark, a mix of the two, etc. Look at the IDW comics, they have the occasional joke here and there, but it's definitely a more serious storyline than say the 2012 show. No different than say Batman Brave and the Bold cartoon being a little more comical than The Dark Knight movies. So if they went for a darker tone of TMNT, that would have been great! But to me, heavy accessoried Turtles and Robo-Shredder don't seem like a dark tone, they look like a modern take to appeal to fans of other movies and genres we have going on at the time.
Black Nerd Comedy Yes, it's all a commercial plot, and I totally agree with you. But let's see... in the best case scenario, it might be a movie that satisfies fans of every version of TMNT. I just posted this comment I found on IMDB, because I agree that the movie should follow the source material and not the popular version. P.S. Black Nerd replying my comment seems like a level achievement!
The reason I love that trailer so much is because the song that's in background of the montage is called, "Reptile". That simple fact made me crazy hype about this movie
I want to think that because I really want Oroku Saki or however you spell his name to be the Shredder. But it would also be disappointing because Baxter is suppose to be a black guy.
After re-watching the trailer, I'm convinced: it is definitely Oroku Saki, 'cos William Fichtner does say to the shadowy figure "We've taken your armor to the next level" 'YOUR' being the key word.
They failed miserably with the believability of the Turtles. For one, they're too freaking huge and big, they wouldn't be able to sneak pass a room full of deaf and blind people. The other thing is.. why is there so much crap on them? Look at Donny.. he has this bigass machine on his back like.. what the hell.... Like what seems to be the trend with anything involving Micheal Bay.. characters in both this and Trasformers are OVER DESIGNED. Why doe's Shredder have a billion blades on him? Why do the Turtles have a bunch of random, noisy, and crap on them? Not looking forward to the movie, the Turtles are fugly too.
Thank you. Its good to know there's some people that still have since. These Muggas look like they could tackle a tank lmao How do they fit in a man-hole??
Donny has a machine on his back because he does machines. Hahahaha just kidding. I agree with you man. Johnny Knoxville as Leo and Tony Shalhoub as Splinter? This is why we can't give Michael Bay nice things.
***** It does show a lot, but I think they had to at this point to take care of some of the hate on the movie. I think if they started with a trailer without as much plot but still this action-packed, they would have been in a better place.
Black Nerd Comedy Also, some of the fans think, that if this movie will have sequels (2nd and 3rd), they may be based on arcs "Return to New York" (2nd movie) and "City at War" (3rd movie). What do you think about it?
Vladax94 I think pulling directly from comic story lines would be a great idea. It's tough though since most Turtle fans, self included, ironically know more about them from the cartoons than the comics. So I'm sure that's the fine line they have to walk. We'll see what happens.
I don't think the shadowy guy was a product of re-shoots. Karai has always been listed in the credits, so I think Oroku Saki was already in the movie and they have been keeping it under wraps to get people talking. One thing about Michael Bay, and he has admitted to this, is he purposefully gives misleading information about his movies to the press in order to get people talking about the movies. It's something he learned from working with Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson. This movie looks awesome. I'm really getting the impression that the people who worked on it LOVE the turtles. It looks like they are taking the best parts of the comics, 80s cartoon, and 2003 cartoon. I'm pretty sure Bebop and Rocksteady are going to be in this film as well. Im pretty sure Fichtner is connected to the Krang/Utrom, and shadow man is Oroku Saki.
He isn't directing. He's producing. Chances are he had very little to do with this movie on the actual set. Most of the time when a big name director is producing, they are just there to draw attention and help make sure the movie actually gets made
Turtles Fans rejoice! TMNT has blown past GOTG, & is now projected to have a $62 mil. opening weekend! GOTG will be in second, with $40 mil. for the weekend. TMNT 2014 will easily become the highest grossing turtles film that has ever been made, and this makes me very, VERY happy. BRING ON THE SEQUELS! Can you say, Beebop and Rocksteady... And possibly Baxter Stockman even though there's no reason that Eric Sachs couldn't have been Stockman in the first place. And Andre should be the voice of Beebop, who else agrees XD.
The noses definitely look different in this trailer. I was in Walmart yesterday looking at the figures and the display looking at the subtle differences of their faces. Their noses were different to each turtle where as here they look mostly the same with the nostrils on the side. I also noticed Donatello didn't have his glasses just the goggles.
Willam says to the figure "WE are taking YOUR Armor to the next level (why shredder is like a transform er in this)" and the part of the figure I see has a red tint...
I'm okay with the take on the Turtles, the back and forth banter is what will make the movie for me, but Robo Shredder (or Silver Shredurai) and Megan Fox's "acting" is hard to take.
Personally, I thought the Shredder Armor was badass. I liked the voices, liked the look, just over all really enjoying what I'm seeing and looking forward to this.
Since karai is going to be in this movie then maybe Leo is the turtle that gets captured by the footclan. Kind of like the 2012 tmnt episode follow the leader. This way there will be some karai character development as well as some leorai ;)
By Googling "Oroku Saki in movie," the first (past ads and pics) result will take you to a page where someone increased the illumination of the shadowy figure. {spoiler below?} He looks like an asian Voldemort. It's still a little dark, but you can see him and he looks too important to be a random minor character. My guess is he's the Shredder.
Damn man, I agree with everything you've said. If William doesn't end up being Shredder than I'll be shocked. He is signed on for two more films I believe too.
My theory on Eric Sachs/Shredder thing is three things: A. He's Shredder's proxy or student B. He's an Utrom/Kraang C. He's an alternate take on Baxter Stockman Because he seems to know April, and he's a scientist and that's something that has happened repeatedly in the past, and maybe they changed his name to through us for a loop.
There it is. The feared Silver Samurai robot Shredder. As soon as I saw this this morning I thought remembered you in a video a while back hoping the Shredder wouldn't like the Silver Samurai robot armor from The Wolverine and it looks like your wish came true
There is a story arc in the comics and original Lore that before Oruku Saki came to New York, another person.. (an underling, henchmen, etc.) took on the Shredder Persona and wore his armour in order to build up and lead the Foot Clan before Saki's arrival. That could be the case here. He clearly says, "We're taking YOUR armour to the next level." to the man in the shadows. I think that speaks for itself. :) That one scene got me excited though.
"We're taking YOUR armor... to the next level." -William Fichtner. The man in the shadows is not currently disclosed on IMDB, but said actor is depicted with Asian characteristics, and upon closer inspection of a still shot, you can see some semblance facial scarring/marring. Too close are the similarities to not be our Oroku Saki. I postulate William Fichtner is a groupie/enthusiast of the legends surrounding Shredder's mythos, and works in tangent to ensure Shredder's success in whatever dastardly plans the ruined samurai warlord has in store for the plot. I hope this helps you, Mr. Black Nerd, sir.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! What are you talking about?! That new Shredder looks awesome! :O
Think about it, Andre: If every incarnation of the Ninja Turtles was the same, with no differences or variety, wouldn't it get repetitive and tedious? Think of it like a Marvel or DC multiverse thing, were every character has a different version to it's past.
The introduction of the Shredder in the trailer was a boom and bust moment for me. I couldn't help thinking "wow" when I saw him and then express disgust at the blades. Don't know if they can change it or if they did before release, but I would be so happy if those extra blades (I'll be "okay" with having some - really prefer the cartoon version of the blades) are gone.
Thanks for the update! 1. You are hilarious! 2. After seeing this trailer I admit I was like.... Yeah, I think I'm starting to get into this. I think you have a point about the nose alterations. Watching the turtles move and speak help me take in the 'ugly' and now they seem tolerable. I'm getting excited. Growing up loving the 80s version, and note adoring the NICK version, I'm afraid to get my hopes too high... But I'm still going to drag my hubby to the midnight showing on the 7th. Lol
William Fitchner is Baxter Stockman. To me it makes the most sense because he's creating ooze, he's helping build or upgrade armor. In the series he has had personal beef with the turtles. It just makes sense to me.
Yes! I first noticed it with Leo. I thought to my self 'wow, there is something about that nose'. And sure enough I go back and check out the characters and his nose is different from the others!
I see what you'z saying about Michelangelo's nose now Black Nerd. I thought you were going cray at 1st but got curious n' re-watched the initial trailer. It indeed looks like someone took the original nose and just pancaked it!
If you notice in the trailer Donatello is reflecting a bunch if shuriken with his staff so that means there will probably be at least some Ninja Foot clan action and not just guns
My theory is William Fichtner, is some scientist guy, who captured Shredder, and is doing experiments, and wants to play with his armor, and poses as him, while the real Shredder is held captive. Just an idea though.
Preach on the core themes of the Turtles! Also, are we getting a Trevor Slattery moment via William Fichtner? "I wouldn't go in there for 20 minutes." I was pretty lukewarm to the turtles movie until this trailer... although I'm not sure how I feel about Donatello committing murder by tossing that Foot Soldier at a movie subway train, I will say the dynamics of the brothers makes me feel more at ease. I'm wondering if they're going to have a repeat of every Turtles 1 movie so far where Leo and Raph argue and Raph storms off and then something bad happens to one of them and the other one regrets it and family lessons are learned, etc... And I totally agree on Fox'es delivery of her lines. I think "They're ninjas" is supposed to be said with a level of humor, and unless she's a master of deadpan, I think she missed that.
I enjoyed the trailer and all the tiny changes they added to the film, after watching this trailer I actually find the previous trailer obsolete because of all the changes they did. So if people are so upset with the 1st trailer, just don't watch that trailer and watch the 2nd, It didn't disappoint me. My theory on the William Fichtner situation (as I call it) is that: The shadowy figure is possibly Oroku Nagi and William Fichtner is Oroku Saki. If you read the original comics of the Ninja turtles, then you should know who Oroku Nagi is. Anyway, that's just my opinion. Thanks for letting say my opinion!
I don't know what to think. The only positive to this trailer/ movie is that the Turtles have their personalities in tact. But for the most part, it's not my TMNT. But I will go see it & I will dress for the occasion lol. TMNT fan girl for life !
Black Nerd Comedy I think the Shredder guy (in the shadows) looked a lot like Mark Dacascos, who played as Jimmy in the '94 live-action Double Dragon movie, Kung Lao in Mortal Kombat Legacy, Kamen Rider, Iron Chef, and a whole bunch of other movies, shows. By the way, that track in the trailer was "Reptile" by Skrillex and has sound samples from Mortal Kombat.
I am from the UK, and over here we have a show called 8 out of 10 cats. Johnny Knoxville was on this show and he confirmed he was in the movie as leonardo. i bring this up as people seem to think is a roomer but its not.
Lol, DUDE, you had me rolling with that def jam comment about when the foot clan soldier got thrown into the train. That, the William F, can you see me in the shadows and that bit about how somebody must have said, add more, more Blades, more, doe ray etc. I'm Shredder and I'm Fabulous. Hilarious. You could so see somebody saying that about those blades on the set.
TLDR: As a kid, I always thought Donatello was the black Turtle. I have a feeling the tall shadowy figure is a Utrom (Captured from Roswell? Wouldn't put it past them) in a humanoid suit, and William Fichtner's character is "The Shredder" character. Actually, as an AU, this doesn't sound like a bad idea... Utrom ship crashes. Mr. Shredder manages to harvest the technology and capture a live alien from which to grow a major tech company, of which Mr. Oneill, a rising star in computer/electrical/biological engineering, becomes an employee. He's assigned to study a chemical formula that has mutational properties, when his initial results reveals Shred's plans to use the substance to develop a mutant super-soldier program. Mortified, Mr. O steals what remains of the substance and makes a harrowing escape, dying at the hands of Shred's goons but not before the substance can get tossed down the sewers. 15 years later, Shred's using his covert connections to the Foot terrorist organization to guarantee huge subsidies from the DOD, when his plans are thwarted by what he eventually realizes is the product of the long lost mutagen. Hoping to study and use the creatures as a prototype platform to reproduce the material, he captures three of the Turtles. Raphael rescues a weakened Splinter and the two kick off a hit and rescue operation at one of Shred's remote labs. The mini-war for the mutagen escalates when Shred uses Utrom tech to create an Iron Man-esque battle suit to take down the Turtles once and for all.
Honesty, I think that the Shredder's appearance is perfect for this film. Let me explain: this is a movie about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This movie, like the source material, is supposed to be over-the-top. If you view it that way, then the splitting, shooting, returning blades don't seem so absurd. Well, it may still be absurd, but it's no less spectacular.
I figured it out, if William Fichtner truly isn't the Shredder, then he must be...Baxter Stockman! Dun Dun Dunnn! Which is weird since the only time Baxter Stockman has ever been portrayed as a white dude was in the first cartoon show... All other times, he's been black...but the Utrom/Kraang theory is good too.
Dude, I just checked IMDB and according to the cast list William Fichtner is shredder. I am so excited for this movie! It's a shame that they don't bring in the "brain" creature from the 80's show.
Commenters, I'm REALLY liking the Oruku Saki/shadowy figure is Shredder and William Fichtner is Utrom/Krang conspiracy theories. I could totally get behind this movie if they doing that!
that stupid song ur talking is from skrillex it's called reptile
My theory is Fitchner is actually Baxter Stockman from the 2004 (I think) series.
I just wish thy hadn't overloaded with all the blades and bulk on Shredder. Seriously, he's supposed able to be as quick and agile as the turtles, not Bane from Batman and Robin.
Hey andre, what if robo shredder is chromedome?
IMDB: still has him listed as Shredder, i see this taking a twist ala Mandarin in Iron Man 3
Know what people should take away from this trailer? STOP ASSUMING STUFF. Wait to see the movie then form your opinions.
in my opinion the turtles look like big fat ugly trolls. waiting to see the movie wont change that
CJ Rocky you prolly look like a troll :-)
CJ Rocky better than the 1980 abominations, and don't get me started on 1980 splinter.
Randomguy1ism 1980's Splinter looked like ALF
CJ Rocky u can hate the new turtle looks, but the story could be good.
The one question about Ninja Turtles we have for you....WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE TURTLE!?!?! xoxoxo
Go back to your shitty channel.
My two theories of Shredder:
2. Sachs gets the armor from Saki, upgrades it, then becomes the Shredder.
Best part for me was when they mentioned aliens like bay was saying sorry for being dumb!!!!
TheMegakillerbee Yeah, that definitely was a shout-out to the Internet haters. I loved it :)
Hey Andre, the song that you mentioned is called "Reptile" by Skrillex :)
Greatest moment of the first Mortal Kombat movie is the voice over breathing the words, "Reptile," when he formed in that statue and then he kicked him Liu Kang in the chest. Followed by Scorpion and Sub-Zero's entrance.
I LOVE SKRILLEX
Which is funny because both "Bangarang" and "Reptile" were both by Skrillex.
ITQuatro sonic boom trailer has bangarang as well
If you are for some reason watching this video BEFORE seeing the trailer, first off you must be confused, second off here's the trailer :) th-cam.com/video/dwXFsrp6WBs/w-d-xo.html
Andre, when will you make another fan mail video?
I'm your biggest fan
The song in the trailer was reptile them. A song made by skrillex that had the "f-F-f-fight" saying from mortal combat.
+Brandon Romero theme*
I have that same shirt! But I'm a little girl so I sleep in
I love how he not only called half the movie, but technically predicted the Turtles in Injustice 2.
The new trailer was definitely reassuring. Glad to see people jumping off the hate bandwagon. It's like X-Men DOFP all over again :)
My thoughts exactly! I loved how this trailer really had the spirit of the turtles, but the look is something I'm just going to have to look past.
Stewdippin : Fun Nerdy Videos Every Week You know it, my friend. Ready for Vidcon?
Black Nerd Comedy *SHELL YEAH I AM!*
laughed out loud at " not going to talk in a movie theater" ... hahaha
Great review, I'm slightly more negative on my take of the trailer but no matter what I'm seeing it and I really hope my expectations are FAR exceeded. If this movie is good we all win!
When those extra blades came out he turned into PEACOCK SHREDDER!
BTW I waited to watch your review so I didn't taint mine, I swear to God I don't know how we both ended with the therapy session line. XD but I am glad we both noticed the logic defiance of Ralphs magic shades.
Raphael: Black
Michelangelo: Stoner
Donatello: Nerd
Leonardo: Leader
Yep, nothings changed.
lol
Really tho lmao
My theory is that he is either Baxter Stockman or Bishop, Fichner actually bares a strong resemblance to Bishop, and seems to be playing a similar role.
I don't think he could be bishop. Hugo Weaving looks more like Bishop, and as Agent Smith from the Matrix he could totally play the cruel Government Agent.
Knowing Michael Bay, it is probably a character of his own creation to fit the storyline, or maybe a conglomeration of 2 characters
KrimzunFlare
Michael Bay: "And now for all you Turtle fans I bring you Fichner as Bishop Stockman!"
Well said at the end Andre, those words hit me in the heart
steve sieg Thank you. Everyone assumes that I'm hating on this movie just cause. No, I WANT THIS MOVIE TO BE AWESOME! I want it to succeed. I want sequels! I want Turtles on the big screen. So I only nitpick because I care.
Is it me or does it seems like Raph and Knuckles spot eachother? Lol
dveisalive Ha ha, that got me laughing!
Loved your breakdown of the Different takes on the franchise over the years. Showed that turtle passion.
This is why I subscribe to your page. As a fellow Black Nerd you my friend are DO'N WOORK!
Andre that Megan Fox impression was spot on. I can tell you've been practicing ;-)
Malik McAdams I'm hoping to cosplay as her during San Diego Comic Con, HA HA HA!
Black Nerd Comedy haha I would pay to see that
Every time I see that Shredder reveal my first thought always goes back to "Maybe all that hardware's for making coleslaw?" and "I'll bet it never has to look for a canopener"
My biggest issue with this trailer...Megan Fox. If they wanted some lightheartedness and genuine acting, she really was the worst casting choice.
It's awful. April has always been intelligent. Megan Fox makes her look like a clueless character.
CR00K If she's suited to play anything at all...it's the damsel in distress, but she can't even pull that off without looking like her face suffered a stroke and is permanently stuck with that expression she currently has.
That sigh/faint is award winning!!! (Note the sarcasm) I have nothing against Megan Fox, but I really can't see her as April at all. I have the feeling that for that one reason it may ruin the film slightly, which is a real shame.
Beth griff I knew I wasn't the only one who thought that!
"No. That's stupid. Their ninja's." Oscar Award winner here.
So William Fichner isn't Shredder maybe? Does this mean maybe Megan Fox isn't really April O'Neal? (starts praying)
Knoxville is a pretty decent Actor. See Dueces Wild and Bad Grandpa
Wallace Thompson being "decent' doesn't get you that far though. We're talking about a guy who didn't have any real voice acting experiences under his name except an episode in Spongebob.
Everyone thought Jason Biggs was going to be terrible too and he turned out to be great
Jacob McMillan until he makes nonchild friendly comments on social media then the parents are all up against him.
but yeah I thought Knoxvilles voice in the trailer was good. really good. but it is that one line so we'll have to wait till the movie comes out. but this trailer has got me excited as hell.
Andre says “Out of the Shadows” in this video. We now know where they got the title for the sequel 😏
The Russian trailer had an April ass joke
JeffTheDudeAbides There's a variation trailer? Is there a link?
yep there is a variation trailer let me get that for you
Black Nerd Comedy The only thing different really is Vern perving a dish on that April tush and the US trailer shows the Turtles being loaded up in the truck.
Meh, I just wish the Turtles were smaller... like... they're teenagers, not 30 year old turtle mutant men
Generalizing that teenagers are small people is generalizing. Besides they aren't human, they're turtles.
Micheal Bay actually said that for most of the time they are adults
London Schaal Then what's the point of putting the word "Teenage" then???????????????????
dunno some teens are huge, just because of their genetics or stuff like that. maybe that's what they were going for and it just didn't work out like they was hoping.
The goat simulator game just took a GIANT S*** on the Michael bay turtles
Andre, the song in the trailer is Reptile by Skrillex. It's about 3 or 4 years old so the inclusion of it in the trailer is probably less "TMNT in the new MK" and more "fighting reptiles".
I'M SORRY BLACK NERD BUT THIS COMMENT... THIS SAYS IT ALL:
''Arguing with 87 fans is just a waste of time.
The 2012 is a step backwards, not forward.''
If the movie does the same just to feed the old fanboys, blinded by nostalgia and their love for the cheesy show... it will suck.
Live action movies = HAVE EYE PUPILS.
Cartoons/comics = can have without them. :P
Andre, you should have been hired for April. That impression was spot on.
I think William Fichtner is Baxter Stockman.
Now that could be well pluaseable. Baxter was a white in the og cartoon.
He isn't. Todd freeman is playing stockman. He is in the movie too
Oh well. No drama. But this trailer was good.
The reason I love that trailer so much is because the song that's in background of the montage is called, "Reptile". That simple fact made me crazy hype about this movie
Maybe he's Baxter and he's upgrading his armor. What do you guys think?
That's what I thought too and that they are trying to go for a more classic stockman look.
I want to think that because I really want Oroku Saki or however you spell his name to be the Shredder. But it would also be disappointing because Baxter is suppose to be a black guy.
Austin Gilliam Actually Baxter Stockman was originally white.
He was not originally white.
ITQuatro Go read the comics by Mirage Studios! He was originally black, like +Fabrice Duverneau said
After re-watching the trailer, I'm convinced: it is definitely Oroku Saki, 'cos William Fichtner does say to the shadowy figure "We've taken your armor to the next level" 'YOUR' being the key word.
I kind of thought that William Fichtner might be Baxter Stockman.
K. Todd Freeman is Baxter Stockman.
I was thinking that too. Changing his name to through everyone off.
Baxter Fly for sequel?
I was thinking the same thing
He's not Baxter. K. Todd Freeman is playing Baxter Stockman. That's William Fichtner.
This trailer really makes me look forward to the film. That line "He's using his Batman voice" really killed me! LOL!
These Muggas look like they could tackle a tank lmao
How do they fit in a man-hole??
Willie Robinson *sense?
Because it's 2014 bruh.
Donny has a machine on his back because he does machines. Hahahaha just kidding. I agree with you man. Johnny Knoxville as Leo and Tony Shalhoub as Splinter? This is why we can't give Michael Bay nice things.
the song that play's in the background of the trailer near the end is "Scorpion's theme" by Skrillex (from Mortal Kombat 9).
This trailer spoiled a lot about this movie .
I hate Michael bay…
who doesn't?
Deal with it
Sonic Lawrence I want to "kick in balls" I dont wanna"deal with it"
He isn't directing. He's producing. Chances are he had very little to do with this movie on the actual set. Most of the time when a big name director is producing, they are just there to draw attention and help make sure the movie actually gets made
Good for you.
Leo looks like Shrek without ears :\
All four turtles are look like Shrek.
Shrek is love
Shrek is life
Kevin Fernandez The ogrelords! It's all ogre now!
Oh look, more shrek jokes. I've never heard these terrible jokes made before. Oh wait...
"So they're aliens?"
"No, that'd be stupid"
OH THANK GOD
Your impression of April fainting, spot on! Haha
Willam says to the figure "WE are taking YOUR Armor to the next level (why shredder is like a transform er in this)" and the part of the figure I see has a red tint...
William Fitchener clearly says, "we are taking YOUR armor to the next level."
Maybe that's before he buys the armour to become the shredder
iAmit93i He says "YOUR" not "MY." Regardless it is what it is.
I'm okay with the take on the Turtles, the back and forth banter is what will make the movie for me, but Robo Shredder (or Silver Shredurai) and Megan Fox's "acting" is hard to take.
I loved that you were in the commercial before the video.
Personally, I thought the Shredder Armor was badass.
I liked the voices, liked the look, just over all really enjoying what I'm seeing and looking forward to this.
The song in the Trailer was Skrillex- Reptile's theme from the Mortal Kombat game(latest one)+
Its crazy that i saw the trailer and then immediately came to your channel just to see your opinion. You have become the Turtle Guru!
Since karai is going to be in this movie then maybe Leo is the turtle that gets captured by the footclan. Kind of like the 2012 tmnt episode follow the leader. This way there will be some karai character development as well as some leorai ;)
By Googling "Oroku Saki in movie," the first (past ads and pics) result will take you to a page where someone increased the illumination of the shadowy figure. {spoiler below?}
He looks like an asian Voldemort. It's still a little dark, but you can see him and he looks too important to be a random minor character. My guess is he's the Shredder.
Damn man, I agree with everything you've said. If William doesn't end up being Shredder than I'll be shocked. He is signed on for two more films I believe too.
My theory on Eric Sachs/Shredder thing is three things:
A. He's Shredder's proxy or student
B. He's an Utrom/Kraang
C. He's an alternate take on Baxter Stockman
Because he seems to know April, and he's a scientist and that's something that has happened repeatedly in the past, and maybe they changed his name to through us for a loop.
He did say they upgraded his uniform, i like it dont see anything wrong with his extra blades
12:38 HAHA that's exactly what I was thinking!
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude! What are you talking about?! That new Shredder looks awesome! :O
The first thought that went through my mind on the Shedder was, "He looks like a bloody Swiss Army Knife."
Think about it, Andre: If every incarnation of the Ninja Turtles was the same, with no differences or variety, wouldn't it get repetitive and tedious?
Think of it like a Marvel or DC multiverse thing, were every character has a different version to it's past.
When Andre started describing the Montage it almost started sounded like lyrics to a Ninja Sex Party song.
Lol
Honestly I don't care who's shredder as long as he is human ;)
William Fitchner is Baxter Stockman. To me it makes the most sense because he's creating ooze, he's helping build or upgrade armor. In the series he has had personal beef with the turtles.
It just makes sense to me.
Turtles + dubstep= the weirdest thing I've ever seen
If you need help, the song in the trailer was Reptile's Theme by Skrillex.
dude...Idk why... but I freakin love this guy! He keeps it so real and at the same time he's Funny as fudge xD
The music song for the Trailer is: Reptile! from Skrillex.
I know this because its saved in my Pandora.
If you notice in the trailer Donatello is reflecting a bunch if shuriken with his staff so that means there will probably be at least some Ninja Foot clan action and not just guns
I think that shadowy figure is Paul Giamatti, and we'll see him in the last 2 minutes of the movie.
I liked the Ghostbusters joke in there "Doe, Ray, Egon." lol
My theory is William Fichtner, is some scientist guy, who captured Shredder, and is doing experiments, and wants to play with his armor, and poses as him, while the real Shredder is held captive. Just an idea though.
I'm starting to get hyped for this movie. I love how much its being shaped by the internet community!
It's crazy that after I watched the trailer I've been waiting all morning for your review lol
Preach on the core themes of the Turtles! Also, are we getting a Trevor Slattery moment via William Fichtner? "I wouldn't go in there for 20 minutes."
I was pretty lukewarm to the turtles movie until this trailer... although I'm not sure how I feel about Donatello committing murder by tossing that Foot Soldier at a movie subway train, I will say the dynamics of the brothers makes me feel more at ease.
It even says it in imdb under trivia!! It's based on the 2003 animated series! This is a good thing!
ANOTHER new international trailer was released today!
Plot twist;
Andre DOES go, "Look out, Splinter!" in the theater, as Splinter fights Robo-Shredder. lol
I enjoyed the line(s):
"So they're aliens?"
"No. That would be stupid." or w/ever she said.
Shredder is so cool! He's like the ultimate can opener!!
The song from the action sense is called Skrillex- Reptile Black Nerd Comedy
Call of Turtle DONE!
Dude, I just checked IMDB and according to the cast list William Fichtner is shredder. I am so excited for this movie! It's a shame that they don't bring in the "brain" creature from the 80's show.
Your review was tips turvy I'm glad your being honest I'm a little behind what day is this movie coming out
