Fair play Gavin great video good to see someone positive about making a living out of farming and not going the dairy route. You've a great channel for new entrants starting up. All the best with the channel.
last year was the first year our slurry contractor used a dribble bar. we have some great improvements quicker grass regrouth etc. hopefully get some slurry out next week. we plan to get some dung out this weekend. another great video gavin.
Some of the dung is there a year some since October. We usually put dung out in late September but unfortunately we didn't get it out. We only put dung out on grazing fields.
Yea it did thank god one or 2 spots cut a little probably another 2 to 3 weeks I'd say before first lot go out.. haha done thank god now its the stacking
I'll probably have to go out with half a bag sometime in the summer but hoping I won't I find that August is the month I struggle with grass just with the heat but depending on grass growth i hope I won't need any more
Good video, it’s a great chance to get slurry out, how did ye end up driving across a field to get to the one for spreading, is there no road gate for that one, do you ever see the day when you’ll be doing your own machinery work or would you rather lift the phone
Iv a farmer next door that has a 1350g tanker, he won't let me put 2 tanks to the acre but should he let me? I put have bag urea then 2 1/2 bags cut swart after to cut in June with fym put out in October

Thanks Laurence yea like milking is great but you need a work life balance too spent to long working all day everyday just want to enjoy the farming
Great to see the field work starting and the days getting longer weather is good for the time of year
It's great Bernard I love this time of year at least the winter is over end in sight
Good video interesting to watch.

Thanks so much.. how long did you leave the stuff to rot down before you put it out?

@@mourne just have a small bit like that thinking of putting it out like that on the grazing ground
Much prefer the dribble bar as its not as messy and hardly any smell from the slurry when it is put out this way 👍🐄🐮
Yea no stink
Fantastic video 😊🐄🐮
Great video
Cheers Joe 👍
Another fantastic informative video 👍🚜 keep up the good work Canning Farms 👏
Thanks so much
Just found your channel, really informative video 👍
Cheers Kenny 😄
any idea why he gave up contracting? interesting seeing some lads get in, others out, some growing some downscaling. All have their reasons
He went to America kieran he was a young lad so couldn't blame him hard to beat a good wage every week and having weekends back
@@Canningfarms I see. that's right too to be fair
The ground held up well under that tanker,it's in good condition.
How long more will you have the animals housed?
Is the deforestation progressing?

Good video, what size is your slatted tank gavin ?
I have two 4 bay single slatted shed think it's an 9 foot tank deep
Is the bag of 18-6-12 now the only application of fertiliser you plan on doing for grazing this year?

Great video Gavin 👌
Thanks Gary 😊

I do but couldn't use it that day roadworks.. no to be honest it works out alot cheaper to get contractor to do it

I'd say Keith put 2 loads of slurry and 2 bags of urea leave out the cut swarth but depends on soil samples
Mind that PTO cover. Might not get a second chance….
Good video
Thanks micheal
That was a training shoe on that tanker
Well a mixture micheal out sides are shoes middle is droppers like dribble bar
