Solid video. Camping made simple. You don't need a lot just essentials like you have. I have a Prius AWD and its great. I want to take out one side of the back seat and leave the other. I travel a lot and love how you set yours up. Pretty close to what I'll do.
“That’s just the second amendment” 😂😂 that killed me lol. But absolutely, I also keep a longer boom stick with me when car camping or just camping in general
good gas mileage, super reliable, climate control, relatively cheap, hella room for how compact the car is, low maintenance, it’s definitely a great option. thanks for the comment!
I also have the WeatherTech window shades for all the Prius windows and they fit great, but I covered the black side with black felt to be more stealth. I added this video to my Prius Campers and Dwellers playlist, th-cam.com/play/PLx8nx9rsDPRH02-xB8_ubt2tX-_bsj5Lo.html
@bayoubackpacker too bad you don't have a weathertech affiliate code. I ordered a set of these today after seeing them here. I have black fleece to put on them. I was going to make my own, but now I won't have to fuss with it. I really like your rooftop carrier too. I like you can open it from both sides. Nice set up.
You did an Excellent job on this car tour for your first video! Also, your setup is Sooo brilliant, and also your intended travel plans for that time! It’s getting me all the more excited, as I plan my Prius car camping investments and travel stops! Thanks!! 🙏🏽
I always think mice after my best friend's car was ravaged. She had bird seed in her trunk, forgotten after a trip to the grocery store. $2700. SO glad you have your food stuffs enclosed.
A friend was telling me that stuffing Brillo pads, or those round metal pot scrubbers, inside of vulnerable openings/pockets of your car and in spots under your hood can also deter critters and mice.
cool. Rare a prius driver has 2a. more and more i think. I rented a 3nd gen has more room then my 2nd gen. Great for camping i drove 1300 miles and stayed cool at rest stops in 108 degree heat.
Actually it is not recommended as it may cause a problem to the battery etc. People say it's better to have some Bluetti or similar lithium power generator. Yes, I know, it's expensive))
Question- can you leave the hatch open all night without issue? I’m getting ready for my first camping trip with the same tent attachment. It’s a 22 Prius and I’m not sure if it’ll drain the battery. Any advice would be awesome! Your set up is perfect, happy travels 😊
sorry i didn’t see this till now. i got a 2013 universal prius roof rack from ebay that’s rated for 200+ pounds for under $150. easy to mount, sturdy, and comes with locks and keys
Mr BBP.. how do you transport your 2nd Amendment from state to state and be legal... ? I just acquired a 2008 prius . .. your build is what i have planned with the addition of a DIY hitchbox storage and a lift kit
i have proper paperwork and documents for my gun but even so passing through states is always a gamble just try your best to check the laws in each state, and my buddy has a lift and all terrains on his build and i was gonna do the same but it’ll kill your mpg. just my ski box alone affects mine but a lift and tires definitely makes the car standout and more capable
@@bayoubackpackerTH-cam didn't notify me of your reply..I came back to check... Thank you Do you remember your mpg before the rocket box on your roof rack? You stated right now your 48/51.. have you done any mpg mods? Any chance you'll make some Louisiana creole/Cajun camp cooking videos?
@@camposvazquez the ski box doesn’t mess up mpg too much unless it’s really windy all the time on the highway, it’s mainly the hills and mountains here that mess with my mpg, as well as it being cold out so keeping the heater on. i went from 48/51mpg back home to 38/45 here it just depends. and eventually i will make videos like that im just waiting for summer because it’s constantly raining here right now
sorry i’m just now seeing this i got it from walmart on the clearance one day. they sell some good ones there like this battery powered pop up box fan that worked amazing in the louisiana heat. on amazon they have some that you can actually add water in and it’ll work as a legit little ac although i never used one i’m sure they work good
back in louisiana 51mpg with it. here in the hills around 40-45 but the box itself isn’t what affects mpg it’s the hills. the ski box only messes with highway miles but still not much

How I love so clean no-build setups! Looks neat and well organised! Good job man👍👍👍

Pretty much a good video, pretty much simple but pretty much effective setup, will pretty much setup mine just like this, thank you
Very nice video, thank you for sharing
man! you are a legend1 keep it up. You just convinced me to buy a prius.

i did the same to time i just used black tape on the reflective side so i can keep it stealth and even during the day it just looks like 5% tint

I don't know if anyone has said that you shouldn't heat up canned food, in the can, bad stuff can happen. Stay safe and safe travels!

that sounds so horrible
Spray peppermint oil in all your wheel wells, along the sides of your car and all under your hood.=No mice.

It would nice to have a list of what you bought and where? Getting ready to buy a Prius. Safe travels.

Cargo net is genius
This is so awesome! Do you think they sell a pop up tent for 3-4 people?
justfound your channel and i dig your build and mentality! Good luck brother
thanks man i appreciate it!
Great video man, you can also add power inverter to your 12v battery inside if you want..
Actually it is not recommended as it may cause a problem to the battery etc. People say it's better to have some Bluetti or similar lithium power generator. Yes, I know, it's expensive))
Great job mate. Stay safe and happy.
Great vid homie! Sounded natural talking to the camera 2. The “2nd amendment” part cracked me up lol keep doing your thing!
Nice setup
Nicely done 👍

Nice rig and you have the weather tech window covers so cool I did the same thing in my 2013 Prius v.
Nice video !
New sub. Great video 😊
Love this thank you for the ideas! How is the roof top carrier mounted? I have a Prius v that I camp in and I’m looking into roof racks 😊
sorry i didn’t see this till now. i got a 2013 universal prius roof rack from ebay that’s rated for 200+ pounds for under $150. easy to mount, sturdy, and comes with locks and keys
and the ski box itself is a visrack ski box. i got that off ebay too and it’s really good and pretty cheap. opens and locks from both sides
Awesome video! I've got one too, you give me ideas. Did I miss the part about having or storing your clothes? Help me out viewers. Thanks in advance.
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty pretty pretty, =0) good luck in WA.
thank u:)

Curious ur experience on how much the roof carrier effects MPG?
back in louisiana 51mpg with it. here in the hills around 40-45 but the box itself isn’t what affects mpg it’s the hills. the ski box only messes with highway miles but still not much
is it okay in winter
Where do you put your clothes?
He doesn’t change his clothes, no need even living out of a Prius
Love your accent. What is your nationality
Sounds like he's from Louisiana
