This is not how you play beer pong man... direct throw = 1 cup bounce = 2 (but opposition can knock it away) If both partners hit their throws they get balls back and shoot again if ball bounces off a cup and into another they are both gone If you hit the cup as someones drinking it its game over After a team loses their final cup they each have a "redemption" shot, if a shot is sunk the cup stays and play continues Finally, if a shot misses but the team retrieves it before it falls off the table they get a trickshot, which if sunk is worth a cup
And my favorite rule: guys finger, girls blow If the ball is rattling around the cup, the guy can try to get it out using his fingers or the girl can blow into the cup to bounce it out before it touches the beer.
The rules I play by are that if you bounce it the opponent can slap it away, but if you make it on a bounce it's worth two cups. Also if you make it into the cup a person has in their hand it's automatic game over. Last thing: if you make your last cup, the losing team has a chance for rebuttal by making every throw their turn. If they make all their throws after you make your last cup the cup stays and game continues.

Same but I've played a lot of houses with a tad different additional rules (Southern California). If both players on a team make their shots, they get balls back and can shoot again, but if both make it the second time it isn't balls back again. Also, if you toss a ball and it bounces on the table, not making it in a cup but is still on the table, if you can grab it before your opponent does, you can shoot again but it has to be a trick shot (opposite hand, from behind, off a wall, etc.) Oh and fire. If you make three in a row you can keep shooting until you miss, but your partner has to notice and say "Heating up!" when you've made two in a row and "Fire" when you made three. I've also played houses where if you bounce it and make it in a cup, every cup that cup is touching is also out which is kinda OP. Beginning of the game you can take out 7 cups in one bounce.
Beer pong is like Monopoly or pool - there are official rules but practically nobody follows them, so whenever I hear "that's not how you play it" my first thought is "you probably don't know how to play it either"

And we have very specific rules that are ever-changing, but the way that we play is if your bounce it the other team can slap it away but if they don't it's two cups and if you just throw it it's one cup unless it bounces off the rim of another cup then however many cups it bounces off the rim and then goes in its that many cups. And if you Bounce It Off the Wall or do like a 360 it's three cups. Just thought I'd share that with the world. Makes for an entertaining evening.
