The most underrated band of all time.
Squeeze absolutely defined the year 1980. The end of one decade and the start of another. They were a bridge from artists like Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, and Gerry Rafferty, to The Police, U2, and REM. For one moment in time, they were the perfect band.
Really stands the test of time, great song
Awesome band and great song.
Were we really ever that young?
Some yes, but at a different time. Even older generations just went to dance halls
i think i saw this clip on guy garvey's vault on tv. seems quite fast for the song but love it when chris steps up for his vocals - his deep crispy voice crackling along while glen sings the tune.
in their prime they can rock
First saw this band Squeeze on the Uncle Floyd Show!
What/where was that? 🇬🇧
Wow, uncle Floyd.
@@LaurenceMoore I KNOW right!!
@@precisionbrown6829 for sure I remember the show when i was a kid. Totally forgot all about it - until you brought it up.
@@LaurenceMoore those guys were great and Uncle Floyd was a cool show right!
I love i found this version with the confessions lol
Saw them in 1988. This song reminds me of all the good times in college way BITD
Saw them in 1985 at the Variety Theater in Cleveland with The Hooters….
Fantastic. They were havin' fun out there.
tight sound.
Rock and roll
I am in love with that woman with the red hair at 1:43 WOW!
80's Hot.
Squeeze- "Pulling Mussels (From The Shell)" Live 1980 (Reelin' In The Years Archive) 22.1.24 zed it can play live also.... this initially sounded like tube's sound system. then i thought must be German show.....
I'm glad I got to see them play in DC in the '90s. Unique sound. Jools looks so young here.
Mark Kelly Yes! I saw them in the late 80’s in DC. DC had the best music scene in the day.
They all look young it was 40 years ago LOL
The 80s damn
Full throated hi octane songwriting right there.
From two of the best of their era
The absolute bollocks songwriters. 👌
I always expected to see a 60 year old blues player , smoking a pipe , singing back-up
Where is Annie get your gun from that night ??? Can’t find anywhere
Always great, but always greater with Jools & Lavis. That double solo in the middle still sounds great going on 40 years. And no surprise about Bobby Elliott (Hollies) being an influence on Gilson. Two very good drummers.
Bobby Elliot is a great drummer.
😍😍😍😍😍
I've taken acid, this is great
The band the Beatles could only wish to be ....
There is a job waiting for you in the Trump administration.

I am the White House communications director.
@@Mrbrbusby Hahaha!!
Anton Ferreira Comparing Squeeze to The Beatles? Obviously you've hit your head too many times.
I think there’s no comparison to the Beatles
So Difford is a Proud Boy?
I’m pretty sure this is the band for whom Morrissey quipped his famous line in Panic, “It says nothing to me about my life.” What incomprehensible, meaningless lyrics and stilted chiseling off of L&M.
Incomprehensible to YOU, maybe.
Haha I rather doubt your ability to tell up from down if you're calling some of the most specific, detailed and evocative lyrics in pop meaningless. I'm quite new to Squeeze and I have to say this instantly jumped out at me - utterly lucid storytelling matched somehow by equally imaginative and exuberant melody/instrumentation. Simply brilliant.
Ah yes, Morrissey and Marr, always speaking specifically of my teenaged life, either wishing for death at the hand of a bus or mucking around in graveyards talking about Wilde. SO RELEVANT!
If Morrissey has no appreciation for one of the best pop songs ever written I'd be very surprised. The lyrics, playing, and arrangement are next level brilliant.
