I swear these videos serve as great motivation to be a better bowler! Shot 713 my first 3 games with the Hyped Pearl fresh out of the box in league today! 👏
Im no bowling expert but I swear to god when you fall off your strike shot (ie you dont get strikes a few frames in a row) your throw changes completely (and I feel like its unintentional) You drop your right shoulder considerably, shift your hips out to the left more, and your hand gets more on the side of the ball to what seems to me to get the ball to spin/whip more. I say this bc I don't think it benefits you when this happens. Love your content, I only say this on the off chance that it helps you in some way.
@@femkepostma5605 I basically lived in a bowling alley from 16-25. Bowled for free every day, it was amazing. I was also the big hook guy. I found when my shot vanished bc of oil or whatever, I would always move further left and try and hook it more when the answer was always move right, get a less reactive ball, and play a far less aggressive shot. It was a total game changer for me. But I could never imagine what its like to be a Pro. Im sure its totally different.
This is one of those nights you just laugh at what's happening and decide its a great night to practice on making spares.take a deep breath relax and hit that spare. Relax and have fun !!!!.😀😀😀
My previous post was super long so didn’t want to add too much more to it but, @Darren Tang. I’ve played basketball competitively all my life and had opportunities to play pro overseas but being a Dad at 19yrs old curbed those dreams. I will say that once I hit my late 20’s all the way till now (48 yrs old and still play local leagues and national tournaments in my age group against former pros and D1 talent) that that’s when my mental game kicked in and made me a good talent to truly understanding what made great players great. You’re on the right track and I truly feel your best times and greatness in right in front of you. Keep grinding and put in the work and success will come.
Bro I love that no matter what YOU SHOW US EVERYTHING THE GOOD THE BAD THE UGLY NO MATTER WHAT YOU PUT IT ALL OUT THERE SO WE CAN SEE THAT EVEN PROS STRUGGLE AND THAT GOALS ARE EARNED
You never like to see it but I think it's always just a good reminder at least at a lower level to know that even the best aren't always the best and sometimes it's just not your day or game. It's easy to get carried away feeling bad or feel like you should be perfect all the time but when you see it affects everyone it brings perspective in a lot. I appreciate being able to see this side of things just because it's really easy to miss normally and forget exists.
As an individual who’s watched YT channels for over the past decade+ , your channel would be fully rounded out with an intro and outro. I’m sure half the time people just skip past them both but, as an avid watcher of multiple channels in different genres, I appreciate the time and quality of that aspect of various videos. Something like @e_oughts is cool and even @Brad and Kyles channel but, I personally prefer simplicity like @187Customs… Just an observation as an old head (48 years old).. Cheers boys and keep up the great content. It is very much appreciated all the work you put in. Eta- I bowled for 6-7 years out of high school with my dad and that was our thing when he couldn’t keep up with me on the basketball court. Having a family and life in general took me away from the lanes but, I lost him a little over two years ago and decided to take it back up not too long after he passed in his memory. Because of Darren, I’ve been intrigued by the science or bowling whereas before, I bowled off of raw talent. I only average 210 on semi hard house shots but waiting to turn 50 or even sooner to try my luck on sport shots. That doesn’t come around here in N Florida till about the summer time due to fall leagues but the challenge of it all with me being an athlete all my life has got me wanting to understand the entire aspect of bowling as a whole and it’s because of yours, @The house bowling, TV bowling supply, @Brad and Kyle, @Luke Rosdahl (being a traditional lefty, I see true ball motion similar to my game for ball reviews) channel so thank you again. Still really trying to pay attention to pocket hits and the neccessary adjustments as well as front to back motion is what I’ve been working at the most on top of various hand releases. Prather’s, Kyle’s, BJ’s, Hupe’s, Brad’s and Mikey’s is how I want to eventually mimic my game after. I’d be happy even with someone like @Matt Sanders or Mykel Hollison’w cause I’m a lefty and really know it takes time and reps like any sport you play to get it consistent so I look for guidance for all your channels.
@Darren Tang it's nice to see that you aren't a robot after all lol. THANK YOU for posting this video. It encourages me to not be so down on myself after a bad outing. I bowled my first tournament new year's day and I was so nervous that I choked completely the first 2 games. Most of us realize it must have been a tough shot for you to struggle. Get'em next time!
The struggle is real. Keep on pushin D! You got this.. Forget about everyone's expectations for you.. Focus on the now. Not last year. Good luck. #MayTheStrikesBeWithYou
Is there ever a midlane shot out there? Seems like we see you go from straight with pitch black to gutter to gutter with the Reality or a Hyped. No in between. Must be tough for sure.
Darren. I noticed that you keep a bowling journal to track your results/progress? Can you do a video on that? I am trying to do what I can to get to my goal average of 195+. After about 15 years off I started bowling again 2 summers ago. Finished first year average 157-162; last year 172 and so far this year 185 range. My spare game not nearly where I want it to be.
you are a huge inspiration for me bro i love your content and inspired me to start my own, hope you see this thank you for all of ur posts love them all
When trying to make a spare where you need to cut a pin to hit another is seems like you move to make the angle more extreme. I see alot of pros do this but I don't understand why.
looks like the lanes were dry as bones and oil was moved all over the place based on how much the urethane balls were moving and how inconsistent the reactive balls were hooking
I played on a long flat pattern and it whopped my butt. Every miss to the right was a split. Everything spare was 5 times harder to make. House shot is literally like playing the game on easy mode
Trust me I am no pro but the positive is we are all human we are going to have bad days, weeks hell even months. The fight is getting back up just keep your head up don’t lose your confidence especially when your down you got this.
When you bowl so good for so long, you get confidence in your decision making. You make the right moves at the right time and make the right ball change at the right time. Then, one day, none of it is working. We all been thru that. I pick a low hook ball and pound my target line. Punch out a bunch of 200's and teens and see what happens.
Hey man! Two handed bowler here, just started two months ago and just started bowling 2 handed a month ago. I recommend the Phaze II if you want hook, the gold belmo ball for spares, and the tropical surge for in between the two
Hey there! First off, LOVE the channel, absolutely appreciate the content. I'm buying my first ball but I'm very hesitant to make the purchase since I don't really know the ins and outs of the ball specs, and how they effect the actual performance. Any tips or resources to help learn the variety of balls before making a purchase. Much appreciated! Thank you!
We have to take the good with the bad. Your human bud. I've taken the year off to be coached to get to where I want to be, and that is not a house bowler. Hope to be bowling against you guys soon. Keep up the great blogs. Can you do a blog on your journal? It would be awesome to know what you write. It may help some of us, and I would like to start one. So, some insight would be helpful

Nice set! The Hyped Pearl is absolutely goated. One of the best bang for your buck balls on the market.

This happened to me tonight and let me tell you it truly hurts the brain and heart
When bowling goes bad I always, unintentionally, start to work with my body to make my shots. Like wanting it too bad, and it makes everything worse.

4:32 Chris and Ryan Barnes standing the EXACT same way.
They set up the same too. Ryan's gonna be a demon on the tour once he's fully ready to compete. Same with Brandon Bohn.

It look like everyone was struggling. Sometimes Brooklyn feels good!
I can't imagine how tough those lanes must be, but keep up the good work! I hope to see you winning more titles next year .😁
Or even this year.

I believe he takes notes on what board he lined up on and what mark he threw it at each time.
Keep Grinding DT - Wishing you lots of sloppiness when necessary. Cheers man.
I've come to the conclusion that it's better to be lucky at bowling than good. So work on your luck brah! :)
Your mind is quiet. Your game is solid. Quiet your body and it will happen. You got this. LETS GO DTANG🙏🏻😎
Those speed bumps in the patterns are not necessary but it is what it is.
13:12 @me putting on my sweater 😂
When the camera cut to darren in front of a 7-10 i laughed out loud
BOUNCE BACK BRUDDAH!!!!!

Keep your head up! You got this bro!!
I feel like the guys who were more down and in had better luck than those hooking the lane.
I like his vibe in these videos
No surprise the Reality Check looked the best, by far the best ball to be released last year imo. Keep grinding bro
Keep your head up brother, pulling for you to finish strong.
You're in Vegas aren't you in this video at Gold Coast. I bowl at Suncoast and Santa Fe
Hey Darren tang, can you let us know what oil pattern your bowling on every tournament?
the gutter after a turkey hurt my soul
Cool tech bowling Darren tang
Just picture everyone naked and smile 😁, your game will improve immensely! And no one will know why your smiling so much 😁😜
This guy cracks me up

same i dont get it. i think they just prefer that angle of attack even if its not improving the angle of deflection
With these funky oil patterns you should try going with an old school ball. Like some shit from the early 90's. I'd be interested to see the outcome.
i believe in you big dawg 😤

I'll say this: if you weren't sure about the Revenant, DTang, it looks *really good* off of your hand, even when you miss with it.
You still taking open challenges? I live here in LV. You can teach me to shoot spares lol
Keep grinding Darren. Good luck going forward 💪👍

Welcome to being human
Was he wiping his ball down correctly between shots? Too much oil on the ball? You usually see him doing this all the time.
Once you fixed your hand position with a forward roll, looked a lot better.
So, you're saying there's a chance? 🤔
Hey
Just bowl lefty except at PBA events.
What are you writing? Just curious.
i’m pretty sure stuff like what board he stood on and what board he slid at and some other stuff
