  • ...and Twice is the Only Way to Live! With the big budget Thunderball producing another hit for the franchise, we see our first 2 year gap between films with You Only Live Twice releasing in 1967. When Bond is sent to Japan to investigate the disappearance of a satellite, it leads him to uncovering yet another Spectre plot, ending with him finally going face to face with Blofeld. It's got a volcano, little Nelly, Hans, but will it be enough for Tom & Joe to place it highly in their rankings?

They filmed on location at the Himeji Castle in Japan. There was an uproar at the time because there was some damage during filming. Bond in Japan was an excellent idea but the result was disappointing. Wakabayashi Akiko (Aki) spoke particularly beautiful Japanese, but Sean Connery's Japanese was dismal.

Talking of the beginning, I think Bond is inside the body bag to sneak aboard the submarine in case anyone is watching, like the guy on the dock. I assume this is also why he exits through the torpedo tube

You guys are nuts- this is a great one! This set up so many things that had never been done before -you just don't know your films!

This series would have been great if the hosts would have had an old bastard with them who saw the Connery Bonds as a young boy who would then set them straight on a lot of their PC confusion. It was the 60s for Gawd's sake!!!!

Some big errors in the plot timeline in this one. Things get confusing. If you're going to listen to this, watch the film first. Still a lot of fun
