The way he speaks about the fan letter... so gentle, so tender, you can tell it really moved him. His fans are his soulmates, if only in the moment of understanding the character he worked so hard to bring to life, if only in the reading of a long letter.
Also love his response to his "image" and the attacks he got for mispronunciations. As someone who also learned new words via reading, I mispronounce a lot as well, it's very hard to fix when you learn words by image and not by sound. Much kudos to ZZH for putting the correct idea out there--to learn from your mistakes, accept constructive criticisms, and not fear learning from them.

You are indeed an industrious person 30% Destiny and 70% hard Work. True. 3. And yes, I love it so much when he said things in his mind without thinking too much, he is too cute and too innocents at the moments. and yet he is so mature in this interview. People keep changing, like our thought yesterday and today is not the same. People just need to let go of the previous words if they don't feel right about it.
I really like how he is able to expressed his feelings. Congratulations, you are such a wonderful actor and singer. He always says that the success for Word of Honor is a combined effort of all who participated. I agree but, I also believe he was a perfect match with GJ. He has a very soft and emotional side as well.Having gained more popularity after the drama WOH hasn't changed him the least bit. Still the same down to earth person.
With his popularity expanding his co-star framed him with all sorts of accusations and he was removed from all platforms in China. To this day, after more than a year he has not been given back his recognition. We all his international fans and China fans are fighting for his comeback to the film industry because he has not committed any wrong doings. As a matter of fact he is also a very patriotic youth.
I can literally listen to him talk all day, well with english subtitles ofc thanks to you haha. It's like every time i listen to him talk, I gain something from it unlike many other meaningless interviews.

Hi Kakjah... I am also his new fan from Malaysia.... Started to know him after watching Legend of Yunxi on 1/7/21. After that, Blooms Of Ruyi Pavilion. His Chemistry with Ju Jingyi is fantastic. Since there are no more dramas with her, checked back his previous dramas and his chemistry with each actress also good.. Due to our MCO, this July I had seen Word Of Honor, Demon Girl 1 and 2, Ban Shu Legend. Just saw his 3 movies yesterday.. Haunting Love, Brother and The Bravest (sad ending for Bravest, no good)..
Will continue to see all his old dramas while waiting for his new releases... I did not know that he hurt his knee and now cannot play basketball so he is playing golf now .. just know half hour ago that it was during Word of Honor shooting that he was hurt..... Man, him talking about making mistakes at 5:03 and how he's been ignorant in his earlier years, kind of relates to how he's having to pay for past mistakes now. He seems sincere about being called out, accepting, and learning from his mistakes (6:58). It's sad because he's aware of the pressure that celebrities have to set a basically perfect standard for society and so he can't freely express himself as much anymore. And now today they sort of took his ability to express himself away at least in terms of performing and engaging with his fans. But like he said, humans are good at adapting and so I have complete faith that like the basketball to golf switch (even though this is much worse), he has the resilience, resourcefulness and willingness to change and adapt to this situation. If there's anyone that's willing to grow and improve from a difficult situation, in my opinion, it's him. We might not know what he's up to for the near future, but I know that he will work hard to improve himself and will make the best of all this. I believe in this guy.

I am a cp fan as well and after watching this interview y just got a hunch that the letter he refers to was not from a fan but from GJ: a cute person, a soulmate, someone who knows you well, who will allow you to cry, who calls him Ah Xu.... that explains so well why he was completely surprised and the deep emotions that getting that letter provoked.
