I've got a doozy for you. In the episode "Pria", Pria says the _Orville_ was supposed to be destroyed in the dark matter storm. However, had they not stopped to rescue her, and headed toward what is, presumably, a Consortium base, they never would have encountered the dark matter storm. Also, it was never stated on the show when she came back in time, so, the latest time the show could have been reset to was just before they got the distress call.
It shows how impressive the production is when you can only find 3 (blatant) mistakes out of 12 episodes. And the 3rd one you had to really look closely for.

Yaphit is a Changeling, affected by Section 31's morphogenic virus; that's why he can move himself, and every cc of him is more-or-less sentient, but, he can't morph into a humanoid. Claire Finn is actually Kasidy Yates, who is actually Dobara, who changed her name to avoid the embarrassment of being "left" by Sisko. Marcus is the child she was pregnant with in 2370, and Ty is the one she was pregnant with in 2375 (why do Penny Johnson's characters always end up pregnant??), explaining why the boys are about five years apart. There was an accident in the Typhon Expanse, causing them to be stuck in a time loop for nearly forty years, emerging in 2411. Yates/Finn spent eight years getting her Union medical degree. Did I miss anything?
Hey JP, I am excited about The Orville and glad it will continue as a mostly straight Sci-Fi drama with a dash of humor. The writing and acting and production quality are fantastic as is your channel and I am glad to have egotastic fun times.
In the episode where Ed and Kelly are talking in the lounge(?) they are clearly in a rear-facing window of the Orville. The starts are receding away from them. But if you look at the exterior of the ship there could never be a rear-facing window without the view being dominated by the engine loops. Also, if you look at the episode where Ed is going from room to room looking for someone to hang out with, and keep track of the direction of the stars in all the windows, some of them are going in the wrong direction. Also there is no part of the ship exterior where there is a "ridge" small enough to have a crew quarters, hallway, and more crew quarters with windows on opposite sides.
Biggest mistake in season one: not letting us hear Bortus sing. How to make it right: when they finally do get around to treating us to his dulcet baritone voice, make him do "Never Gonna Give You Up".
The Krill episode when the launch the rocket. When the they show up at Rona 3, the rocket bay opens and it's a view from the inside, you can see the planet. Yet when it shows an outside view of the destroyer, the door opens again when the rocket launches
for me it was the leg amputation. the leg was amputated just above the knee. when it was hidden then fell down from light the leg included more than half the thigh. no pun intended but the found leg was a FOOT longer than it should have been.
The _FIRST_ mistake...: At the science station with the Krill shuttles parked in the driveway...... As the crew retreats back to their pod..... *BAM!* ....No Krill shuttles in the driveway...!!!
I think I noticed a mistake not mentioned. At the end of the episode Firestorm, it looked like the center engine ring (nacelle) would be visible through the shuttle bay door in some shots, and absent in others. There were no weird camera elevation changes or anything, I just think they forgot to add it in some shots.
I presume your source video for the reflection scene must be of a higher quality that appears in the video, because I didn't see any reflections at all.

biggest plot error - going forward - giving crew members and the ship the ability to have holo--emitters...every away mission - Ill be like "or..they could have just disguised themselves" ....the shuttle also has a cloak ...so....
maybe they could be like "well - Issac didn't take this into account - as he is not an organic lifeform- but - if we use these holo-emitters too much ..they will give us all terrible cellular degradation" or something - so - use only in a super emergency...
When they destroyed the black hole thing so it'll be like Pria never went back in time and meet the crew, they were supposed to forget all the things that happen during that time, but in later episode Gorden mentions loosing his leg...so what went wrong there?
No active missile defense systems (something that shoots down an enemy missile) or simple defensive systems such as decoys. These technologies exist now meaning the Orville would have had a harder time destroying a U.S. destroyer with missiles in the 21st century than a Krill ship in their century. The 2-D universe dimension had 3-D characteristics such as a top down view and lights shining upwards.

Meanwhile, in the episode 'Cupid's Dagger', Darulio arrives on the much smaller scout ship USS Olympia, SCV-183. A fleet with 3000 ships has two USS Olympias?

have you seen BABYLON 5 ? they had this earth cruiser names which belong to Sheridan's fleet and Clark fleet at Mars had bunch of this ships some had names like VESTA which were in Sheridan's fleet.... or in some TV movies I heard cops say "beige DODGE" but the fugitive's car was a FORD LTD

Though I love the series, just about every episode is sadly a remake of a previous trek episode. I mean they took from the cage, one where a civilization lives inside a hollow asteroid and heading to disaster in tos, who watches the watchers, blink of an eye, one tng episode with a nonsex race and one false for Riker and is forced to be reconditioned to be non sexed, one where troi keeps failing the commanders test but finally realizes what she has to do to pass the test, I'd say reunification to a degree with the krill episode......As I said I love the show and I'm OK with the rehashes for the most part as they are done well but we need more that aren't rehashes. Of course with like what....Over 500 episodes over 5 series as well as films that could be hard.
I also have noticed a lot of "kindred" elements from many episodes of Trek. Probably why I love the show so much. But I think they do add a lot of their own material as well. But you're totally right, there is a lot of Trek out there. It's gonna be hard to come up with truly original ideas. :)
first as you said, trek did a lot of it by just having that much episodes and so having about every trope and standard setting at least once. It's much like the simsons did it first/predicted it. Also Orville is a trek homage as a hole. So copying trek episodes might just be the point and on purpose.
I don't care if he rehashes the vast back catalog. Although I do think he should get some extra writers / masters of lore to help keep it fresh with new spin. To make sure there are many layers.
Don't really care about the mistakes just as long they are not big mistakes like the story itself. So far it's been perfect. But spotting the mistakes are fun.

I think episode 1 or 2 I am referring to when the krill followed them down to a planet in their own 2 shuttles. I know my description of the snafu is not helping much but I know it's real. Mistakes, when addressed, are how we learn! Great! And not at all like Cinema Sins, which like judging. Just like you, say, hey, nothings perfect, I still love your show just as much, but let's look at the mistakes. I hope the production improves for season 2. Then season 3 will start becoming mainstream, and by season 5 it will be so popular advertisers will be fawning it all over. We'll need a new crew member to join the show. Oh wait, I'm think TNG. I love it how the off season is going to give us lots to ponder. That's the bright side of having to wait for the next season.
I know I’m a little late to this party (2 years late). You might never even see this comment, but I noticed something I consider to be a mistake during an episode of the Orville. Season 2 episode 1 right in the beginning, the bartender says that he replicated the record player that’s playing the music in the scene. Then very shortly after... he says “I’ll have to order another shipment for you captain” referring to the alcoholic drink the captain is having. Why does he have to order stuff if he could just replicate them? And don’t tell me that you can’t replicate flavors or something because later in the episode the kids hack into a replicator to get vodka. It’s a super small detail that doesn’t detract from the episode at all, just had to point it out.
The leg prank was classic. The real mistake is assuming a 95% straight audience wants to see gay relationships or main characters...first Sulu in the movies, then the Orville, then Discovery...STOP that, it is flat out disgusting to the majority of the audience. And as for TNG, the most glaring mistake was spot being male early on and female in the last season. Personally I also thought a french captain with a British accent was just...odd.
Daniel Guisinger well, I'd have to re watch but if I remember right one was the Olympia and the other was an Olympia CLASS ship (assuming ship classes are named for the name of the first ship which dates back even long before now. Like the US just launched a brand new designed aircraft carrier called the Gerald Ford so all subsequent carriers that are launched with the same design will have their own name but will be referred to as Gerald Ford class ships)

Remember when Alara easily molded the titanium cube into a sphere in "About a Girl"? In later frames, the sphere becomes a cube again.
I think changing Alana's eyebrows was a good decision. It's hard enough to show emotion through all the makeup.

The "zoo" episode is a rehash of "The Eye Of The Beholder" from the animated series.
