Another outstanding video. Being in the right mindset is key. Don’t get caught up trying to bang out instant beats. Yeah you need to build your catalog, quality matters. Chefs take time to prepare a meal and if you cooking up, do the same.
By far the MOST helpful five tips I’ve seen so far on this topic. I’m one of those people who spend hours sitting at the computer and end up with only a melody and a couple drum patterns. Thank you so much bro!! Subbed and all !
I think a really good advice for Logic people would be to make a template for beat... If you know you're using a kick/808/clap/perc/hihat, make a software instrument track for everyone of them already... you can also load an instance omnisphere already if that's the main vst you're using! shit like that makes the workflow way faster and similar to FL's drum rack!
NICE VID BRO! Ive been watching all these producers making 10 beats a day... they all sample the melodies... For me it aint about speed.. You'll naturally get faster over time too. Great share Ocean!
Fantastic stuff. I would love to see a video where you run down a ton of DAW 'shortcuts.' I know there are 'legends' that show what every keyboard shortcut does within Logic, but seeing them executed visually is so much more powerful and effective than just reading the keystroke symbols. When you showed the *brush* tool to lay down the hi-hat roll - that was something i doubt i would have discovered for a while. I've been watching people do the thing where they chop the midi, but your method is certainly better. Maybe do the 20 shortcuts you use most often - that would be insanely helpful.
One thing that works for me is just moving on, like, don't get stagnant while making a beat (for example, I spend too much time balancing and stuff like that) just MOVE! That way you'll be able to progress and learn from your mistakes.
when you are starting off and still getting used to making beats you want to just make as many beats as possible. What you are learning how to do is translate your ideas onto the daw. alot of these aren’t even going to see the light of day but just you getting experience with your equipment is going to give you the tools to make the music you really want to make
Tip number one is sick, keeping it neutral and objective instead of giving it a positive bias, when you keep things neutral and objective it allows major flexibility
I was a little skeptical with the 9k views but this video also has 500 likes? thats really impressive dude, it seems like your audience really likes you, keep it up! (Also great video)
Don't you feel artistically drained if you force yourself to sit down and make beats ? My best beats are often made with the intent to just mess around on my DAW.
I'm a beat maker but I got a question..I'll be making a beat and it seems like all my beats are kind of the same sounded but not so how do I change it up if that makes since
I think if the first tip isn’t YOUR answer then you shouldn’t even be in this video. The first tip is really it. Limit your instrumentals, release average sounding tracks. Not every track is going to be banger like your best work. It’s important to always have a decent size catalog readily available.
Just turn up the BPM lol
This guy LOLOL
Lol u stoop
Like damn Michael whats the keyboard shortcut
😂😂😂😂
I'm Dead 😂💀

Super helpful Ocean! You make the best videos on TH-cam for learning Logic! Keep it up bro 🔥
Nice one! The first one is the most important for me as well. Without my muse I cant work efficiently.
One thing that works for me is just moving on, like, don't get stagnant while making a beat (for example, I spend too much time balancing and stuff like that) just MOVE! That way you'll be able to progress and learn from your mistakes.
How to make beats faster;
1. Know what you're doing
Yeah, that's about it.
😅
That's a start lol
I watched a t minus interview and he strongly believes in quality over quantity, but then again he already has the bag we're all chasing

Nearly at 30K
Almost there 💪🏿
But ocean maybe thats why all ur beats kinda sound identical???
If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t understand logic
And fyi 10 beats a day is nuts. If we’re talking like a 5 hour session a day.
I think if the first tip isn’t YOUR answer then you shouldn’t even be in this video. The first tip is really it. Limit your instrumentals, release average sounding tracks.
