I have a question who is yall's favorite MLP 'n friends characters? Mine is Danny Williams because he reminds me so much of Friendship is magic's cutie mark crusaders, especially Scootaloo.
@@lunakingsley.7247 Oh crud, Danny was a sorely underutilized element of the first series. I honestly get why Molly didn't do more being the baby of the trio, but Danny had some really good moment that were too far and few between. He really came through at times showing how much of a positive influence Megan had been on him.
I've loved minty for most of my life, and still do. It kinda warms my heart to see that even after all these years shes still getting love. Her bubbly, quirky personality just makes her extra adorable. 5:03 Also, i listened to "Nothing Say Christmas Like a Pair of Socks" cd version, and that laugh was adorable!
I love Minty very much and I just love how much you appreciate G3 and older generations. I also really love Cheerilee from runaway rainbow. Far apart is still one of my favorite songs from mlp in general. I just can't get over her duet with rarity. The song sometimes makes me cry.
I honestly think Minty might be one of my favorites too. I know Wysteria and Lily Lightly are my top two for sure, but with Minty I always thought "I love Minty, but who doesn't?" Hearing you talk about her helped me realize just how special Minty is though!
7:04 that criticism baffles me - Minty did in fact try to own up to her mistake. In the very next two scenes after breaking the Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane, Minty tries to tell other ponies what had happened: first she tries to talk to Sparkleworks and Sunny Daze, but they're too busy and excited so they direct her to Pinkie Pie (which makes sense because she's the Christmas Host), but then when she tries to explain what happened she is talking too fast and incoherently to be understood and Pinkie Pie is too distracted by putting up the banner. Pinkie Pie was well-meaning in trying to assure Minty that everything would be okay and that they could talk later, but these two scenes effectively demonstrate WHY Minty couldn't just tell someone what happened; the writers had already addressed that possible solution, so it's not actually a plot problem. To me the plot's not that paper-thin, because it makes sense for both of them to behave this way - Pinkie Pie has a lot of pressure on her to live up to Rainbow Dash's performance as Christmas Host from the previous year, and Minty has a consistent struggle with articulating her thoughts in a way the other ponies can understand. Had Pinkie Pie (or anyone else) not been so preoccupied, I do think she would've sat down with Minty and figured it out pretty quickly. But that's kind of the point - everyone is so excited for the festivities that even if Minty could get the words out, they would either not register what she said or be left completely devastated on Christmas Eve. Minty genuinely did everything she could to try and fix the situation, including attempting to confess to what she did. For an example of what I think is a more legitimate criticism in G3 - in Dancing in the Clouds Twinkle Twirl, the literal dance teacher and studio owner pony, procrastinates on choreographing a group dance number for the Friendship Ball right up to the afternoon before the event. No context is ever given as to WHY Twinkle Twirl couldn't have come up with choreography sooner. It undermines her personality and specialty, and it does make Star Catcher (as much as I love her) feel like a deus ex machina. Twinkle Twirl doesn't learn anything about how to find inspiration in a better timeframe, or that she can't expect her friends/students to learn a dance the same day it's to be performed, or that she can't just rely on "extra special wishes" to fulfill her obligations. And while she does end up giving Sky Wishes the "Best Friend Ever" award, she says they'll share it and never admits that she had nothing to do with the dance number coming together and therefore doesn't deserve the award at all. I think this could've easily been fixed if they'd had DitC take place over more days - have it that Twinkle Twirl had already choreographed the number and taught it to the others after being inspired by the rollercoaster, but then wanted to find a way to make the ponies REALLY dance in the clouds, perhaps trying all sorts of methods like wires and balloons but they all malfunction at the last minute. That way, she's meeting Sky Wishes halfway and doesn't come off like she's banking on her friend bailing her out.
@@PeacePetal oh yeah, absolutely! It still holds a special place in my heart because it was my first G3 media back in 2004/5 (and the animation in it and Friends Are Never Far Away is my favourite of the G3 media, for some reason), but in terms of storytelling it's probably one of the weakest 😅💚
Hi there! I am Rainbow Dash in New Generation. I subscribed to You! I am Hawk Nightwing's Defender of 5G. I respect all Generations of MLP fans. But mostly 5G fan. Nice to meet you.
I’ve been waiting for a video like this for a while. I absolutely love Minty, she’s my favorite G3 character from the specials. I have three different minty figures, the first two I got are the donkey pose and a happy meal Minty which came together from eBay, and the third one is a G1 Minty from the Basic Fun reboot collection.
I know you two just got done with pony discussions but if we’re talking ponies that like skating, had almost messed up christmas and are voiced by Tabitha St Germain, Scootaloo from G3.5 is also a good contender
Fizzy has a turquoise coat rather than it being green. It's close, but not all the way there. As for A Very Minty Christmas, the writing really let down what should have been a really fun, heartfelt little presentation. While I haven't seen the whole thing myself, I have also seen worse than this too. I feel that Doctor Wolfe and Josh Scorcher were a little too harsh with it. They did raise some good points about its weaknesses though. I will always laugh at what Minty said after breaking the candy cane too. It legitimately funny.
Well she also has four colors in her mane, but the point was they’re similar. I think A Very Minty Christmas was fine. It’s not trying to be a complicated or deep story. It’s just some Christmas fun. As for that review, I can give Dr Wolf the benefit of the doubt, but Josh clearly had his mind made up before he ever watched it, just like he did with the G5 movie. Just because he used long-winded arguments to pick apart doesn’t mean he actually made coherent and valid points. “Do over… Do over!”
@@PeacePetal Three, Fizzy has three colors in her mane and tail. Just to be clear. Appearance wise, they are both fairly similar. Personality wise they're lo0vable goof balls. They're also very cuddly characters personality wise, I don't how they have cuddle personalities, but they do. I just wish more people were getting to know Fizzy like they've gotten to know Minty. We have a lot of lovable characters in MLP. And the deserve recognition. The only show I can speak that really doesn't is Tales. And that's a whole different kettle of fish.
@@marybdrake1472 She has four. There are two different shades of pink. It doesn't really show up in the screencap I used, but if you look up some more pictures of her, there are four. In the toy, too. I love Tales, too!
@@PeacePetal I'll have to check my DVDs. The higher definition on my T.V. should help, at least a little. Honestly though, no pictures or images of the toy I've seen show more than three. On a related note, I'm not sure why the multicolored mane and tails in this show, but they worked out. I've got a thought as to why she seems to have four colors instead of three. There are a ton of animation errors in this show, so that could produces moment where Fizzy has a fourth color when she doesn't the rest of the time. It could also do the opposite leaving her with three instead of four. I'm not sure what the case is, but given the number of such errors either could be either one.
@@marybdrake1472 I swear I'm not making this up! The cartoon screencaps used on both My Little Wiki and the G1 fandom wiki show four colors! It's a little hard to tell with the faded toys, but the Basic Fun repros definitely have four! Yeah, I love the multicolored manes in G1 and G3!
An absolute pleasure working with you Peace! May your ponies prosper!
