There’s nothing like downtown PDX. For a medium-sized city, the downtown core always has high energy and activity (before Covid at least). Downtown is actually large from all corners and directions. It’s a real metropolis.
Would be way cooler to move the statute to the waterfront or into pioneer square. Most people never see it where it sits. Not to mention the building is blah. But the statue is cool. I vote let’s move it. Better yet let’s put her on the bow of a boat and endlessly float her around downtown haha. She looked pretty cool in that footage.
I can’t get over how much different the people of downtown Portland are compared to today. It’s almost like today’s Bellevue Washington. Everybody looked and dressed professionally. Now it’s all hobos and hipsters.

I agree. A wonderful city! I’ve been a few times recently and it’s bouncing back from the covid era issues nicely. A beautiful city 🌲🌲🌲

I agree. I heard it was supposed to have its own island like Lady Liberty.
@ THAT would be cool! As good as we are of thinking outside of the box, N.Y. apparently beat us in this regard. I say we regroup and do this 👊🏻😎
Now the statue watches over the bs of today's Portland 😒

@@montipellier You and your hateful comment missed the original commenter's point. That is that Bellvue is a nice place.

Yeah, thank/blame politics for how people are dressing 37 years later.
