i think you would fit in just fine! i hate that i can't speak for everybody because there is still hate and racism in the world, but i hope you wouldn't have any issues. the people i have met are amazing and tolerant towards all races and cultures and i believe you would be able to find some great people too!
i believe according to the website cal poly is about 55% white and the rest is other ethnicities but personally i’ve never had any issues with finding other diversities! although i’m white, some of my closest friends are other ethnicities so it just depends who you want to be friends with and around!
Giovanni, I actualñy graduated from Cal Poly in 2015. Cal Poly is almost 50% white, but I think this is a perfect place to meet people of different cultures. I came from a neighborhood of predominantly Black and Latinx. I was very ignorant when first arrived, but I met friends of all cultures, Asian, Muslim (MSA), Indian, unfortunately not many Black students, but you can go to the Multicultural Center to meet students from Black Student Union. You will experience racism, there are racist indivduals, but thats the beauty of joining with other races to bond and know about other cultures. This will allow you to grow as a person, and prepare you for the real world by testing your patience, yet giving you the ability to learn how defend yourself verbably with individuals who have a "higher" social status and not using physical violence. Hope this helps. I hope this doesnt discourage you from attending, as its a beautiful campus and you still have many welcoming people (including white folks). I loved my time here, and hope to one day return to the Central Coast and give back to the local farming community. Much love and God bless
