Replicate LS Engine Dimensions with an LS mockup block

- The LS engine is the darling of the engine swap movement. You have no doubt heard the war cries of “LS swap the world!” and there are a lot of people heeding that by dropping an LS in darn near anything with four wheels (and even some with two wheels!). Obviously, installing an LS in something that never was intended to have said engine means having to take copious measurements and often fabricate mounts, especially if it isn’t something popular like a Tri-Five Chevy, first gen Camaro, or OBS LS swap.
One such option has been to use an actual LS engine block for mock up purposes. There’s nothing better than an actual engine to confirm dimensions, mount bracket locations, and so on, right? Well, that’s fine if you want to bust out the cherry picker and heft around a heavy engine block. The better alternative is a LS mock up block. These lightweight LS mock up blocks can easily be handled by one person to drop into place and check fitment. Besides, that LS engine block should be at the machine shop getting prepped for your next LS engine build!
Traditionally these LS mockup blocks have been made from compressed foam or a plastic injection mold. These LS engine mock up block designs have been known to be quite fragile in steady use, which is why we’ve designed our own LS mockup block out of steel plate. Not only is it stronger, with threaded mounting holes that won’t pull out, but the bolt together assembly means you can easily store the LS mock up block disassembled in a fraction of the room a traditional LS mock up block (or real block) would take up on your shop shelf. Just got mine.. left a lot to be desired. Instructions are vague.
Covered in a protective oil type material.
Edges are very sharp and I cut my hands in multiple places while assembling.
This mockup block and heads work really well.

@speedwaymotors are you offering different transmission as well? I see 4l80 options, what about th350? Im not sure if the 4l80 covers the dimensions of the earlier transmission?

What you pay for it and can you bolt oil pan and exhurst to it
@@PeterHatch-mx7zc I forgot how much I paid, but I think it was $100 or thereabouts. Yes, you can bolt on the oil pan, exhaust, and everything else you could to an LS small block.

What are the 4 larger nuts for in the kit
The four M11 nuts are for retaining either your own cylinder heads or the Speedway Motors mock up heads.
