Thank you so much, I was doing an online course and i ran out of space, i got so demoralised because the course was my ticket out of my crappy job im in now. I then stumbled across your video and BOOM morale boosted and i can continue my course
Your video helped. I was trying to install portable-virtual box on my external drive and come to find out it was only compatible when I had Windows 7. You showed me in the video how to move Virtual Box to external drive in Windows 10 and it worked it saved me some space. So thank you.
This is the way. I first found a stack overflow post from 2013 which was out of date and all wrong, then an article online from 2016 - same. Filtered my google search to 1 year and found this. Thanks for creating this.
Same I had ran out of storage space on my internal storage on my pc so I had to download and install Virtual box on my external hard drive and other files. Is there any disadvantages to doing this as I thought it would go wrong if I kept unplugging the external drive and the oracle VM going away and vice Versa. Pls let me know if this is the case or if it’s fine to have it installed on the drive
Thank you.. I moved default folder for VM machines to a desired place and it stopped working.. I did the following: I set the new default folder in settings, then I used the media manager where I added my old system which I moved (which was in VM machines default folder), the .vdi file of that system to be more specific, then I created new system, selected that I want to add already existing hard-drive/.vdi and selected .vdi of that old system and created.. When I launched it, it was the old system intact
This is definitely useful for people using a small size SSD
This tutorial is more than the sum of its parts. Thank you for demonstrating a very useful technique.

Is it safe to delete all the other files related to that VM in the C drive (after safely moving the VM disk)?
