    Agreed. I have a piece of lawn (Hybrid Bermuda) that I don't even look at. It is one of the best lawns in the entire neighborhood (no fertilizer, no pre- or post emergent, no nothing). Year after year, it is almost the first to green up, and almost the last to go dormant. The only conclusion I have been able to draw has been that that particular piece of lawn has extremely rich soil. I think instead of spending so much time, energy, and money on chemical products, homeowners willing to achieve drastic results should perhaps consider refreshing their soil (going at least as deep as 6-9 inches) which in many cases is filled with construction waste.

      Thanks for watching and sharing your experience! Soil does make a big difference! My last house was a newer construction and I found all kind of junk buried when I would dig around. At my current property I deal with soil erosion and other things that chemicals may not solve! Appreciate you!

    As a regular home owner, I couldnt agree more. I live in Cumming as well, and eagerly awaiting the green up to “start “ fertilizing. I’m seriously considering trying some of the Anderson products even though they are a little pricey. Go Dawgs!

      Right down the road! It will be here soon enough! Don’t think you would go wrong with Anderson if you have the budget, go dawgs!!

    I’ve watched all those other videos and shake my head. As someone who worked at a certain fertilizer company in Suwanee years ago I can tell you we never put down bio stimulants this time of year or at all. Only thing going down now should be pre and post emergent weed control and lime if needed. 75-85% green up then drop some fertilizer. If you want a golf course lawn great get a reel mower but not needed. Just mow weekly at an appropriate height.

      Yes sir! Glad you agree. Weed control is all I’ve done so far this season. Thanks for watching appreciate you 👍

      What is the best granular pre emergent to use right now that won’t harm the Bermuda during this transition time? I would appreciate your advice on this and what product to use. Thanks so much!

      @@kennethjacobsen3318 I like Lesco stonewall, it has prodiamine as the active ingredient. I’ve used both prodiamine and dithiopyr with good results. This year I used dithiopyr

    Hi, love your channel. I live in the Raleigh, NC area. Should I have put down a pre emergent yet? And what brand do you use/recommend?

    • @lanieroutside
      @lanieroutside  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, appreciate you! Maybe but you aren't too late yet and should still be in the window to apply pre emergent. I have had good success with the Lesco stonewall although that is getting hard to find at the big box store. Good luck this season!

    Never heard of biostimulants. I've thought about getting a reel mower but I don't think I want to deal with the maintenance associated with it. I would recommend a soil sample sent to your local county extension agent or whoever does them. I'm in Georgia and send mine to UGA via Ace Hardware - easy peasy! Great video BTW!

      @lanieroutside  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good that you haven’t heard of them! Maybe folks are moving on. The reel is nice but just not for me either. I have an extension office close if I need to take a soil test to and should. Thanks appreciate you👍

    Burning your lawn has 100% benefits! I don’t, but it’s an absolute benefit. Biostimulants absolutely have benefits! They are small, so most don’t. The reason your neighbors don’t have a reel mower, is because that Tru Cut is $2,600 and a Walmart rotary is $150…. That last one is completely dumb on your part!

      Fact: You believe burning your Bermuda Lawn has 100% benefits but don't actually do it. I follow the UGA Bermudagrass Lawn Calendar. From research I found that this guide will help me produce a nice quality homeowner lawn. A lawn without all the hyped products that are pushed on TH-cam. I have full confidence in what UGA publishes vs TH-cam salesmen. I do enjoy the entertainment from a lot of these folks but it is just that. Entertainment.

    Agree on your list, especially the "biostimulants" topic. I have definitely been tempted over the last few years, but held firm to the belief that if I keep it watered, fed and mowed regularly, that is 90% of where effort is needed and I have had good success with my builder grade, common Bermuda sod the last 12 years. Unfortunately, it doesn't cost anything to post a video and push this snakeoil. caveat emptor

    • @lanieroutside
      @lanieroutside  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You got it right, I figured out these bio stimulants were unnecessary when I got a larger lawn. No way I had time or money to apply and have noticed a difference really. Appreciate you and thanks for watching 👍
