Thank you so much for your video. This just happened today to my father in law’s van. I am ordering the part and will be following your instructions to get it fixed. Thank you so much. Great job.
This WAS my problem! Took 45 minutes to get everything off, and sure enough, the cable had disconnected from the little knob. Now I have ordered the part (only $10 plus tax). I fix it, and probably take a whole afternoon to get it back on right! THANKS!!! Your video was super helpful!
You My friend are The Man!!! I found your video went to toyota got the part 4.00 dollars. And followed your turorial and joila. 1 hour later i was driving home. Thanks a million..

Really appreciate your video. I was stranded with my family during a trip and your video saved the day. Got home with temp fix and will fix the issue for good this weekend. Thank you very much!! Update: Fixed it in about an hour. Was very easy thanks to this video!
Thanks for the video. This was the exact problem with my 2005 Toyota. As expected, it took me a couple of hours to make the repair, but the total financial cost of the repair was only $5. If I had taken the car to a repair shop, I figure the bill would have run $250 to $500.
This video was very useful and I thank you very much showed it from start to finish and even got the part number you need to order, one dadgum good job of showing how to fix it,hell yeah!!!
If one doesn't care about looks, I just used a large hole saw and made an access port - just left side of the shifter lever. The bushing is there and can be replaced with new bushing. Afterwards, I just hot glued the plastic piece that the hole saw took out. So much time and effort to remove the dash to get to that shifter bushing otherwise.
Thanks for the video. Got it fix on my 260k miles 2005 sienna van with $4.26 for trans bushing from the dealer, 30" watching your video and some sweat from mine on the van.
Thank u very much for ur video tutorial it’s was on point n very helpful. U save me time n money. I did pay for the towing but i managed to repair the problem with out having to replace the transmission. Much appreciated
Hey! Quick question, just to make sure I'm having this issue and not something else. When you shift, do the indicator letters on the dashboard change? or it stays in neutral? In my case they change but gears dont engage. It's also weird because it works ok for a little while but after a few miles I loose power. Hoping is not the transmission but not sure. Thanks.
Wife calls me while I'm traveling home. Say the car won't go into gear but the motor is running fine. It doesn't seem to do anything when she shifts. I pretty much knew it was something like this. When I watched your vid, I remembered doing the same blasted thing with my daughter's Matrix. Your vid helped me quickly find where the shifter was on the tranny and gave me a good overview as to what to pull to get to the bushing. Auto parts stores didn't have the part (of course) but I thought to call the parts counter at the dealership and they did. So when I fly out again, I know she has a car again and no mechanic bills. The dig to get to it and reassembly actually was much quicker than I thought. Thanks!!!
Thank you so much i have a 2004 sienna some is that one i know it happens on my 95%of the mechanics are f criminals . I can tell you are honest person .i really appreciate 👍
Plz help, I have a Sienna xle 2006 model. Just got a transmission issue like while the engine is cold, the D doesn't work, but it works after the car gets warm, like after 15 to 20 min. Could you sort out this. Kind feedback will be appreciated
Just wondering. I have a 2002 mercedes and it has the same problem. What are the chances of being the same solution? I will try this and hope it works!
How hard was it to get the new bushing into the cable end opening? Should we put grease on the metal peg? I've pulled my 2001 Corolla center console apart and am waiting on the bushing.
Did anyone replace the cable along with the bushing?? What caused the bushing to break? A cable with hard spot in it. I'm thinking there's an issue with the cable to cause the bushing to break.
I have a 2002 sienna, has reverse but no forward gears until the transmission warms up, or the worn mount moves enough to let it engage. gonna check this out if it happens again as my shifting problem is sporadic, usually when I first operate the vehicle in the morning.
@@alltsab Yeah, I'm a mechanic unfortunately. I like the solution you presented. And the fact that anyone can do it. Unfortunately for me my solution is going to cost more than what the van is worth. $2500-3000 for a transaxle on a van worth $900-1500. I have a couple of options I'm going to try. drop the pan, change the filter. flush the transmission, go synthetic with an additive. Not going to get much worse so I have little to lose. If that doesn't work I have exactly zero dollars invested in a van with 278,945 miles on it that I have been driving for 3 years.. Scrap it, take the money and get another one.
@ericpulliam75 picknpull junkyard sell tranny for 200 to 300 dollars that is the best way to do it. I just bought a engine cost me $280 to put in my 06 sienna.

How do you get the d bushing off so you can put the new one on?????
The bushing already came off. To put it back on just follow the video
What if it will reverse? Just not drive forward.
You can do it as shown in this video but you have to have 2 person to do it.
My daughters vehicle she bought 2 weeks ago will go in reverse but won't go forward
That will be transmission problems most likely.
