常常聽到一種評價，說某某人是“性情中人”。這評價中是略有幾分暗暗的羡慕的；或者，還有些感慨、贊許之類的。我想聽到的人和得到評價的人，甚或那評價人的人，也許沒往深處想，性情中人究竟是什麼意思。
性情中人，把字拆開來看。
性：性情；脾性。《國語·周語上》：“先王之於民也，懋正其德，而厚其性。”韋昭註：“性，情性也。
”情：本性。《淮南子·本經》：“天愛其精，地愛其平，人愛其情。”高誘註：“情，性也。”中：內；裡面。
《說文·︱部》“中，內也。”性情中人，按照這種解釋，大概是指那些突顯真實本性的一類人。
性情中人，無褒貶之意，算是個中性詞吧。
性情中人，在唐人的筆記中描繪過隱居的高士，在《水滸傳》中評定過那些血腥的英雄好漢，在明清的話本小說中刻畫過那些才子佳人。
在時下，性情中人這四個字，又成為一種耀眼的視角了。其實，性情中人，是指感情豐富，率性而為的人。常常用來形容一個人隨其本性、情感外露、率性而為。如“李敖先生是性情中人”、“李積敏先生是性情中人”、“路遙先生是性情中人”等。
在這個越來越複雜的社會上，在這個越來越真假難辨時代，在這個物質壓抑人性的潮流中，突顯真實本性、真誠而感情豐富的人，就顯得特別稀有。
從經濟學的角度上來說，稀缺的資源，價值經常會被放大。因此，看來被人評價為性情中人的人，無論從性情人本身來說，還是從物質社會的現實來看，都是值得為此而大醉一回的。
好像性情中人，還不只是這麼簡單地就可以概括了。在不同的情況下還有很多細節，很有深意。有許多種具體的條件下，還附加了很多的內容。性情中人主要是來形容人內心的。可是，人的內心是多麼難把握的一件事啊。其實，性情中人應該是形容一個人對另一個人內心的某一刻的感受的。也許這種定義，比較確切一點。性情中人就是一種感覺吧。是變化不定，卻圍繞著一些內涵的感覺。性情中人，應該是忠於內心感受的人，是感情豐富的人，是能夠義無反顧的人，是略有不合時宜的人，是敢愛敢恨、愛恨分明的人。所有這些的綜合，性情中人是情感大於理智的人，至少是很多時候不很冷靜理智的人。性情中人，不僅不是沒有理智的人，還可能是理性很強的人，只是有時候偏偏不按牌理出牌，偏偏要違背理智的人。性情中人執拗、心中燥動不安，性情中人不在乎自己，又太在乎自己的感受，太在乎別人的感受。李積敏就是這樣一個性情中人，他做事豪爽、俠膽柔腸、不拘小節、情感豐富，他是一個比較註重愛恨情愁的人。他重感情,講義氣，肯為朋友兩肋插刀的人。他性格豪爽,為人正直,不受社會習慣的束縛和影響,常常做出常人無法作出的選擇。他又對很多事情和人都很在意，難以割捨，難以解脫。他是個指容易理解別人，也容易被人理解的人。我們在與他的相處過程中，總覺得愉悅，就象面對大海或廣闊的原野，自己也會變得開朗、單純、善良。
我們研究了諸多像李積敏、李敖、路遙等性情中人，總結出“性情中人”的基本特征。大略概括起來，有以下二十五條：
1．性情中人喜歡相信別人，往往上當受騙，受傷的是自己。哪怕是別人隨便的一句承偌，都寧願把他當真，到後來，別人早忘記到爪哇國了，自己卻還在痴心的等待，直到最後真相大白，才會翻然醒悟，大叫一聲：“某某誤我！”
2．性情中人常常感嘆命運不公，總以為自己有濟世之才，治國之德，足以當大任。見到身旁的同僚或者下屬投機鑽營，總是不以為事，認為那是小人的伎倆，不肖一顧。自以為“天生我才必有用”。但當別人一個個地都走到前面去了，而自己卻依然如故，只好躲在某一個角落獨自感嘆：“沉舟側畔千帆過，病樹前頭萬木春”。在人面前，還振振有辭：我瞧不起！
3．性情中人一般沒有大功，也沒有大過。他們的信念是憑本事吃飯，憑良心做人。也多少有點本事。不喜歡投機鑽營，也不喜歡玩弄權術。喜歡謀事，不喜歡謀人。往往被人當成馬前卒子，大帳先鋒。為他人做嫁衣裳。
4．性情中人仗義疏財，好交朋友，往往三句好話就把別人當成知己，掏心窩裡的話都對人家說。殊不知有的人是有意套你的話的，對自己造成許多的不利，大呼上當！
5．性情中人臉皮子薄，喜歡幫人的忙，而不願意麻煩別人，遇事寧願委屈自己，也不想去為難人家。當別人靠自己的幫助得到的好處，而自己到頭來一無所有，只好自我調侃：“命里有時終須有，命里無時莫強求”。
6．性情中人喜歡幻想。幻想明天，幻想未來，幻想愛情，也幻想榮華富貴，有事也做白日夢。常常生活在夢裡頭。但當現實與夢不一致時，借酒消愁“今朝酒醒何處，楊柳岸，曉風殘月”。
7．性情中人喜歡自由自在，不願意管人，更不喜歡人管。天馬行空，我行我素。有什麼工作不喜歡拖拖拉拉，寧願三下五除二做完了，自己想做什麼就做什麼去。
8．性情中人愛好旅游，“偷得浮生幾日閑，逍遙作，天下旅”。常常學古人的樣子，讀幾捲書，行幾里路，寄情山水，豐富閱歷。有時還裝模做樣地“登東皋以舒號，臨清流而賦詩”。
9．性情中人喜歡喝酒，特別是三朋四友在一起，酒興尤高，拼命里地喝。寧願傷身體，不願傷感情。往往別人還沒有喝好，自己卻嘴得雲里霧裡了。
10．性情中人喜歡把喜怒哀樂掛在臉上。胡了一把好牌，高興得手舞足蹈。發起脾氣來，暴跳如雷。快樂時像個三歲的孩子。生氣時像誰“借了他的米，還給他的糠”一樣，臉相看不完。
11．性情中人感情豐富，對新聞不怎麼感興趣，喜歡看小說、看電影、看電視劇之類有情節的東西，常常看著陪著情節裡面的人物一起流出眼淚，一邊搽還一邊罵自己：“怎麼這麼沒用？”
12．性情中人往往有個好的家庭環境，在良好的教育里長大，很少受到生活的苦難，成長的道路也比較順利。父母慈善，兄弟和睦，子女孝順，除妻子受不了自己的任性外，總的來說日子還是過的比較順心。
13．性情中人生活條件一般較好，既不是大富大貴，也沒有捉襟見肘。信奉“生死有命，富貴在天”，覺得“錢不在多，有用就行”，是典型的平安之命。
14．性情中人說話比較隨便，做事比較任性，總是喜歡自己的那點小聰明。往往有什麼話，張口就說出來了，也不計較後果，常常後悔“該不那樣說的！”做事的不少，但成功的不多。有時候想得天花亂墜，到頭來也成不了一件事。
15．性情中人往往自以為是。興來則發：或揮毫潑墨、撫琴吟哦，或指點江山、激揚文字。興去則止：蒙頭大睡，百事不問，“管你王子升天不升天”。
16．性情中人往往很實在，也很透明。自己不虛偽，也看不得虛偽的人。可以任勞，卻不可以任怨。“臂膀上跑得馬”，但眼睛里卻揉不得一粒沙子。喜歡用情，最怕別人欺騙自己的感情。
17．性情中人一般比較健談，天南海北，古今中外，好象什麼話題都插得上嘴，似乎“地上的事曉得完，天上的事曉得一半”。喜歡當說客，卻不喜歡當聽眾。
