I really like this wheel. I have it for two months. I've ridden about 1600 km and climbed over 30km in total. Longest distance I could get on one charge was 113km and 2850m of elevation gain. That involved mostly offroad all-mountain riding
Let's talk about your suspension adjustments: typically we set our spring for about 1/3 droop or sag. Why do we devote twice as much stroke to the compression part as we do to the rebound? Because fighting gravity is hard! We need to use that extra travel to slow down all that energy from a drop. We also put a lot of damping on that compression stroke to dissipate all that kinetic energy. Once the wheel is compressed we'd like the wheel to return to neutral as quickly as possible, without acting like a pogo-stick and launching us in the air (although, some might like that). So we tend to put a little bit of damping on the rebound stroke, but not too much. If you set the shock to have zero damping on the compression, and a ton of damping on the rebound/return - then the suspension will pack down over successive bumps.

Very nice wrap-up Adam. FYI, the beeper volume (in the app) does not affect the power alarm (you have it set to 70% in this video). So I turn the volume to 1 so won't hear the low battery beeps, etc. but will still hear the power alarm beeps at full volume.
I really like mine. I have a batch 1 (serial no is under 20!) and haven't had any significant issues. It took me a long time (too long) to settle on a dedicated trail wheel, and I know that trying trails on my heavier wheels (EX20) did little to help me learn these skills. I'm glad I finally bought the Extreme. I'm definitely towards the more apprehensive end of the scale when it comes to learning new skills and trying new tricks (jumps, big obstacles / downed trees / drops etc.) but this wheel does inspire confidence, and will help you push your limits a bit. I've always struggled with going down really steep stuff - I have way more confidence climbing than descending, largely because I'm a light rider (~135lb) and have generally ridden heavy wheels that just don't want to slow down on steep descents. The Extreme changed all that - I did some fairly steep new trails last weekend and love how the wheel just responds instantly to what I want it to. There's such massive torque, which most people equate to climbing and acceleration, but the same torque gives you a massive breaking control on descents as well. Riding this wheel, I know that I am the weak link, and that I can trust the wheel do behave the way I want it to. Seeing some of the crazy stuff these guys are doing on 'my' wheel also helps a lot. I still love my Master Pro for long road cruising, but this wheel excels at everything else.
I really enjoyed this review as well as your review of the Kingsong S16 and S19 which I was considering. I'm a new rider and have only ridden an A2 and an Inmotion v5. Bought the Extreme and I'm 150 miles into enjoying it so much. Thanks for making such thoughtful and well-researched content!

Hi Mr Wrong Way, nice review. I've been thinking for some time now that it would be really nice and useful if you made a video teaching specifically how to fall on EUCs, like the best way to avoid injuries when you crash, the best position to keep when you ride to be fully prepared, and so on.. I know there is some general knowledge about this coming from motorcycle riders, but it would be nice if someone skilled and experienced like you shared some tricks that are specific and unique to EUC riding... I'm not sure if you already made something about this topic in the past, it's just a thought :)
Thanks for this video, I have been looking around for the next wheel but also dont want to be spending motorcycle money on a wheel. This one looks pretty good for an upgrade to my S22 and its not going to be top dollar. I do like that you can take the wheel out the box and its all ready to go this is what I missed on the Patton that you still need to go and buy pads and so on. I think the only issue here in the UK is going to be getting parts.
Hey Adam, thanks for the review! I'm surprised you didn't address the famous Chooch cut out and consequential criticism! I waited for it the entire video. Surely you must have thoughts on it, being such a Extreme lover!
2050 miles on mine. My tire and airshock needs to be replaced. Im switching to a coil. My pillar broke yesterday connecting my wheel to pedal hangers. I guess getting 2000 miles before stuff needed to be replaced is okay... A lot of those miles are rough trail riding
Just passed 1,200 miles on my batch 1 Extreme and I couldn't agree more with your review. Built like a tank and you can damn near drive it straight up a tree. Really hoping to see some V2 pillars on the market soon that address the motor mount stress issues. This wheel was built for the trails.
Mine cracked and broke at 4000 miles. Got the new ones straight from Peter Begode under warranty. Aside from that and the original air shock leaking in two months, I have had a blast and I love this wheel. Over 6000 miles now. ❤️
Nice to see the full review. The Extreme seems like a future classic candidate, it'd be great if Begode would continue to provide parts / support for this wheel for a long time, as they really nailed it with this one. Even though in the euc space things go forward quickly, I feel like having a reliable and proven model is what will help widespread adoption in the long run. That said, do you have your eyes on the Extreme Bull Griffon? Supposedly, it'll feature a smart BMS, which is unfortunately still not a given with all the new releases ;)
Awesome wheel but it's so much better with a linkage upgrade from Vince Ramirez you end up with a spring that is 650lbs instead of the Begode 1300lbs and a better quality shock no bottom outs as it's more linear and smooth as

It just sucks my friend has had multiple shocks break from very mild abuse, bent pedals, bent lower battery brackets, broke both stanchions because of the thin metal. They replaced everything, but will not send the updated shock so it's just the same stock spring shock that keeps breaking. Just feels very fragile for something meant to be "Extreme." 😢

You probably won't have time to answer a questions like this, but based on your input in other videos and explanations about build quality and Smart BMS, I've narrowed my next wheel choice to be between the Begode Extreme and the Inmotion V14. The Extreme upgraded to the 50S batteries and the heavier suspension makes it about the same price as a V14, so cost between the two isn't an issue. My biggest concern is maintenance and waterproofing. Have you (or anyone else in the comments) ridden the Extreme in the rain much to know how water resistant it is? As for the V14, with it's more "Begodish" design, is it easier to work on than other Inmotion wheels? I'm leaning towards the V14 for the waterproofing piece of mind, but the Extreme's better suspension travel is also tempting in it's own way.
The Extreme is damn near water proof so if that's your deciding factor I would go extreme. The v14 is nice as well but I personally just don't like Inmotion

Hey thanks for the SuperThanks! The V14 is more comfy and practical for city commuting. Also feels lighter. If you can swallow the price it might be more comfy for your use case
@@NikivitaGet a quick charger and the 50s battery packs and you can charge up to 20 Amps. That’s much lighter than carrying excessive battery weight, depending upon your needs. My favorite thing about the V14 is ‘Dual Battery Mode’ where you can remove 2 of the 4 batteries to lighten up the wheel for increased agility and maneuverability. The 50S batteries appear to be a worthwhile upgrade, since it doesn’t work on the v14GB variant.
I would vote for Extreme 50S for city communiting between the two, 1, higher top speed 80+ and V14 only 70km/h; 2, V14 range is very dispointing with the 4000w hunger motor;
I have discovered an issue. The Airplane transport rules and regulations insist, quite correctly, that the wheel must be isolated so that the baggage handlers cannot inadvertently turn it on. (Here's looking at you, King Song). Please provide an isolation switch to turn it off. They also require certification of the batteries.
It’s a different product. They both are great in their respective areas. To answer your question - I believe the V14 has more torque, a better trolley handle, better lighting, and a very fun, lighter feeling ride :)
@mr_wrongway I bought my daughter the V14 (love it) and my Extreme is about three weeks out (excited). I'm thinking a Lynx might not be too far off. Thank you for your thoughts. Be well.
Yes it’s normal. I solved it by always keeping my toes on 1 foot pressed down. Even when I’m braking. You can use either foot to do this, but always keep the opposite foot either toes up or neutral.
Honestly the extreme is such a great wheel, it just lacks that little quality build to make it perfect. Im just upset how begode firmware making the power button kill your Board for absolutely no reason, atleast new firmware should fix this issue according to begode.
A blue diode pops up every now and then and then it’s balancing. There’s also a point for that in the BMS info. At least that’s what I’ve been told by another rider who talked with Begode
@@mr_wrongway it would be interesting to know if we could charge that wheel to 90% and still have balanced cells. I believe that's at least one aspect of active balancing.
What??? Neither! Those are the two most trail wheels of all the wheels on the market. If you want streets and you're set on 12" rims, then a V14 with street tire or KS S19 might be what you're after
@@solecycle i have an MSP 100v HT, im afraid other wheels will not carry the torque im used to have, also, t4 and extreme are the cheapest 60~70kmh reliable wheels available here

I've just got my Extreme. Is it normal for it to be a bit wobbly when accelerating and braking extremely hard? Or do I just need to get used to it?
Yes it’s normal. I solved it by always keeping my toes on 1 foot pressed down. Even when I’m braking. You can use either foot to do this, but always keep the opposite foot either toes up or neutral.
@@-renoboarder-4820 okay, thanks....i will try it
How do I turn off the speed limit on the Extreme using the app? Does it only go 25 km/h when it's new?
There’s an app setting „turn off level 2 alarm” which you have to select :)
@@mr_wrongwaygreat...i try it tommorow
2:20 so is the special offer already over? 😅
Until 15th of July!
Honestly the extreme is such a great wheel, it just lacks that little quality build to make it perfect. Im just upset how begode firmware making the power button kill your Board for absolutely no reason, atleast new firmware should fix this issue according to begode.
That's been fixed for like 6 months now 😅
@@user-bp5py6bh3g nope. My firmware wasnt from 6months ago.
What's the problem with the bird noise? It's the Co host
I just couldn’t get my thoughts together 🙈🕊️
Are you sure it has active balancing?
A blue diode pops up every now and then and then it’s balancing. There’s also a point for that in the BMS info. At least that’s what I’ve been told by another rider who talked with Begode
@@mr_wrongway it would be interesting to know if we could charge that wheel to 90% and still have balanced cells. I believe that's at least one aspect of active balancing.
@@nh281 It should be able to balance lower than that, like mid-80%.
t4 or extreme for street ?
What??? Neither! Those are the two most trail wheels of all the wheels on the market. If you want streets and you're set on 12" rims, then a V14 with street tire or KS S19 might be what you're after
@@solecycle i have an MSP 100v HT, im afraid other wheels will not carry the torque im used to have, also, t4 and extreme are the cheapest 60~70kmh reliable wheels available here
i need a cheap wheel that goes atleast 60~70kmh, with lots of torque and that dont need constant assistance ( the only guy that repairs EUC in Brazil lives more than 1600km from me )
@@reonbomb yeah okay, I could see getting hooked on torque
134 volts versus 100. Extreme all day
Skąd wyrwę te czarną poziomą gumę trzymającą pady?
Fairing plate? Dostępne na hulaj.market :)
Cow suit…..😊
I'm contacting Wheel Abuse Services to have that poor wheel taken away from you. And hopefully shipped to me ❤
Did it have USB?
It doesn’t :/
Anybody else have pillar break?
blue def looks better, though maybe purple for the hair. Thanks for the wrong vids. they cost me moneis since it makes me buy stuff lol
wrong way, put a piece of rubber in there - that's what holes are for
begode et max teardown!!!
He/She/They/It did a decent review of this EUC
