Looks like you have quite a project on your hands. I have done a few mods on my Avid Flyer, but never lengthened the fuselage. I ran a Jabiru engine for about 600 hrs on it. Didn't really need any weight in the tail, and my flying CG was about in the middle of the envelope. I did widen the fuselage on it as well on three other Kitfoxes so far, easy to get 3 or 4" of more width by building the door frames out. Pretty simple really, and not a structural change. Helps when you have two stout guys in the plane. I will do it on every uncovered Avid or Kitfox I have in the future. I have a set of the liquid cooled heads, but never used them yet, maybe on the next Avid I have to rebuild. How do you like your's? Hi Jim Width isn’t the issue but would love more legroom for my tall mates. Probably the biggest improvement to the engine was the dedicated barrel ductwork.
